- the wiring lengths between pixels and the driving circuits in different areas of the display panel vary greatly, and the wiring length affects the resistance of the wiring, which results in a large difference in the resistance of the wiring connecting the driving circuit and pixels in different areas.
- the driving signal provided by the driving circuit usually generates a voltage drop (IR drop) due to the resistance of the wiring after being transmitted through the wiring
- the voltage drops generated by the wiring connecting the driving circuit and pixels in different areas are different, resulting in large differences in the voltages of the driving signals actually received by pixels in different areas, that is, there are large differences in the loading states of different areas of the display panel, which in turn results in low uniformity of the display brightness of the display panel.
- the display brightness of the display panel will further be low in uniformity.
- a pixel e.g., a central pixel
- the display panel can be gamma corrected based on the luminance (and chromaticity) of the pixel, i.e., gamma tuning can be performed to improve the problem of uneven brightness of the display panel.
- the default gamma voltage corresponding to each grayscale can be adjusted from grayscale 255 to grayscale 0 based on the luminance of the pixel at different grayscales, so that the actual luminance of the pixel can be equal to the ideal luminance when driven by the adjusted gamma voltage, and the chromaticity can also meet the requirements.
- the ideal luminance can be determined based on the grayscale to be displayed by the pixel.
- the default gamma voltage is pre-stored.
- gamma correction is performed based on only one pixel in the display panel. This can only ensure that the brightness of the target area where the pixel is located is relatively uniform. The brightness of other areas of the display panel except the target area still varies greatly.
- FIG1 shows a schematic diagram of the display effect of a display panel after gamma correction is performed on the display panel using the method in the related art.
- the display brightness of different areas of the display panel is different. Therefore, it can be seen that the effect of improving the display brightness of the display panel using the method in the related art is poor.
- the embodiment of the present application provides a method for driving a display panel, the method being applied to a driving circuit of a display panel, the display panel comprising: a plurality of display partitions.
- the method comprises:
- Step 101 Obtain gamma correction data of each display partition among a plurality of display partitions.
- the gamma correction data of the multiple display blocks are obtained by performing gamma correction on at least one display block among the multiple display blocks.
- the gamma correction data of the multiple display blocks are obtained by performing gamma correction on the multiple display blocks respectively.
- the gamma correction data of the multiple display blocks are obtained by performing gamma correction on a target display block among the multiple display blocks.
- the target display block may be any display block among the multiple display blocks.
- the gamma correction data of each display partition among the multiple display partitions may be a voltage correspondence between the grayscale of the display partition and the gamma voltage.
- the gamma correction data of the target display partition among the multiple display partitions may be a voltage correspondence between the grayscale of the target display partition and the gamma voltage, and an offset value correspondence between the grayscale and the voltage offset value.
- the gamma correction data of each other display partition except the target display partition among the multiple display partitions is an offset value correspondence between the grayscale of the other display partition and the voltage offset value.
- the voltage offset value corresponding to any grayscale in the offset value correspondence is an offset value of the gamma voltage corresponding to any grayscale in the voltage correspondence of the target display partition.
- Step 102 for each pixel in the display panel, determine a first correction voltage corresponding to a target grayscale to be displayed by the pixel based on the gamma correction data of the first display subarea where the pixel is located.
- the driving circuit determines the first display partition where the target pixel is located based on the position of the target pixel in the display panel and the positions of the plurality of display partitions in the display panel. Afterwards, the driving circuit may determine the first correction voltage corresponding to the target grayscale based on the target grayscale to be displayed by the target pixel and the gamma correction data of the first display partition.
- the first correction voltage corresponding to the target grayscale determined by the driving circuit based on the gamma correction data of the first display partition is the first gamma voltage corresponding to the target grayscale.
- the first correction voltage corresponding to the target gray scale determined by the driving circuit based on the gamma correction data of the first display partition is the first voltage offset value corresponding to the target gray scale.
- Step 103 determining at least one second correction voltage corresponding to the target gray scale based on the gamma correction data of at least one second display subarea adjacent to the first display subarea.
- the driving circuit may determine at least one second display partition based on the positions of the plurality of display partitions in the display panel and the position of the first display partition, each second display partition being adjacent to the first display partition. Afterwards, for each second display partition in the at least one second display partition, the driving circuit may determine a second correction voltage corresponding to the target grayscale to be displayed by the target pixel and the gamma correction data of the second display partition.
- each second correction voltage corresponding to the target grayscale is the second gamma voltage corresponding to the target grayscale. If the gamma correction data of the target display partition among multiple display partitions is the voltage correspondence of the target display partition and the offset value correspondence, and the gamma correction data of other display partitions is the offset value correspondence of the other display partitions, then each second correction voltage corresponding to the target grayscale is the second voltage offset value corresponding to the target grayscale.
- Step 104 Determine a gamma voltage of the pixel according to the first correction voltage, at least one second correction voltage, and the position of the pixel in the display panel.
- the driving circuit can directly obtain the gamma voltage of the target pixel based on the first correction voltage, the at least one second correction voltage, and the position of the target pixel in the display panel.
- the driving circuit may first determine the voltage offset value of the target pixel based on the first correction voltage and the at least one second correction voltage, and the position of the target pixel. Afterwards, the driving circuit may determine the gamma voltage of the target pixel based on the voltage offset value of the target pixel and the gamma voltage corresponding to the target grayscale in the voltage correspondence relationship of the target display partition.
- the gamma voltage of the target pixel may be the sum of the voltage offset value of the target pixel and the gamma voltage.
- the driving circuit may first use a linear difference algorithm to process the first correction voltage, at least one second correction voltage, the position of the central pixel of the first display partition in the display panel, and the position of the central pixel of each second display partition in the display panel to obtain a mapping relationship between the correction voltage and the pixel position. Then, the driving circuit may determine the target gamma voltage of the target pixel based on the position of the target pixel in the display panel and the mapping relationship.
- a voltage determination model may be pre-stored in the driving circuit.

Each group of sample data includes: a sample voltage of a sample pixel in a sample panel, a first sample voltage determined based on the gamma correction data of a first sample partition where the sample pixel is located, at least one second sample voltage determined based on the gamma correction data of at least one second sample partition, and the position of the sample pixel in the sample panel. Each second sample partition is adjacent to the first sample partition.
- the sample voltage may be a sample gamma voltage or a sample voltage offset value.
- the voltage determination model may include: a first voltage determination sub-model and a second voltage determination sub-model.
- the first voltage determination sub-model is obtained by training based on sample gamma voltages
- the second voltage determination sub-model is obtained by training based on sample voltage offset values. If the first correction voltage and the second correction voltage are both gamma voltages, the driving circuit may use the first voltage determination sub-model to process the first correction voltage and the second correction voltage to obtain the gamma voltage of the target pixel. If the first correction voltage and the second correction voltage are both voltage offset values, the driving circuit may use the second voltage determination sub-model to process the correction voltage and the second correction voltage to obtain the gamma voltage of the target pixel.
- Step 105 driving the pixel to display a target gray scale based on the gamma voltage of the pixel.
- the driving circuit can generate a driving signal based on the target gamma voltage to drive the target pixel to display a target gray scale.
- an embodiment of the present application provides a method for driving a display panel. Since the driving circuit can obtain the gamma correction data of each display partition in a plurality of display partitions, and the gamma correction data of the plurality of display partitions is obtained by gamma correction of at least one display partition, the display panel is driven based on the gamma correction data of each display partition, thereby ensuring that the brightness of the display panel is relatively uniform.
- the gamma voltage of each pixel is determined based on the position of the pixel, the first correction voltage and the second correction voltage, a smooth transition between the luminous brightness of adjacent pixels can be ensured during the display process, thereby ensuring a better display effect of the display panel.
- the embodiment of the present application takes the gamma correction data of each display partition of multiple display partitions as the voltage correspondence relationship of the display partition as an example to exemplarily illustrate the driving method of the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present application.
- the method can be applied to the driving circuit of the display panel, and the display panel includes: multiple display partitions. Referring to FIG. 3, the method may include:
- Step 201 Obtain a voltage correspondence between a gray scale and a gamma voltage of each display partition among a plurality of display partitions.

- the voltage correspondence of each display partition in the multiple display partitions is obtained after performing gamma correction on the display partition, that is, the voltage correspondence of the multiple display partitions is obtained after performing gamma correction on the multiple display partitions respectively.
- the voltage correspondence of the plurality of display partitions is obtained after gamma correction is performed on the target display partition among the plurality of display partitions.
- the target display partition may be any display partition among the plurality of display partitions.
- the driving circuit may obtain the voltage correspondence between the grayscale of the target display partition obtained after gamma correction is performed on the target display partition and the voltage correspondence between the grayscale of each other display partition except the target display partition among the plurality of display partitions and the offset value correspondence between the voltage offset value (offset), and then the driving circuit determines the voltage correspondence of any other display partition based on the voltage correspondence and the offset value correspondence of any other display partition.
- the voltage offset value corresponding to any grayscale in the offset value correspondence is the offset value of the gamma voltage corresponding to any grayscale in the voltage correspondence of the target display partition. That is, the driving circuit may calculate the voltage correspondence of other display partitions based on the voltage correspondence of the target display partition and the offset value correspondence of other display partitions.
- the multiple display partitions are pre-divided before gamma correction is performed on the display panel, and the multiple display partitions can be arranged in an array.
- the multiple display partitions can be arranged in a row and multiple columns, or in multiple rows and multiple columns. And the arrangement of the multiple display partitions depends on the division method of the multiple display partitions.
- the display device 100 to which the display panel 110 belongs includes: a plurality of source driver circuits 120a (FIG. 4 shows three source driver circuits 120a).
- the plurality of display partitions of the display panel can be obtained by dividing according to the plurality of source driver circuits, and at least one source driver circuit corresponds to one display partition. Since the plurality of source driver circuits are usually arranged along the extension direction of the pixel row of the display panel (i.e., the X direction shown in FIG. 4 ), the plurality of display partitions obtained based on the division of the plurality of source driver circuits can also be arranged according to the pixel row direction of the display panel, i.e., arranged in a row and multiple columns. Each display partition can correspond to at least one (e.g., one) source driver circuit, and can be connected to the corresponding at least one source driver circuit.
- the total number of the plurality of display partitions depends on the total number of the plurality of source driving circuits and the total number of the source driving circuits corresponding to each display partition.
- the display panel 100 can be divided into three display partitions, namely, partition 1, partition 2, and partition 3 as shown in FIG. 4 .
- each display partition may correspond to a source driving circuit, it is convenient to perform gamma correction on the display partition.
- the multiple display partitions of the display panel can be obtained based on the difference in display brightness of the display panel before gamma correction. Accordingly, before gamma correction is performed, the difference in the measured brightness of each pixel in each of the multiple display partitions obtained by division is less than a brightness threshold, and the difference in the measured brightness of any two pixels in two adjacent display partitions is greater than the brightness threshold.
- the display panel can usually be divided into multiple display partitions arranged in multiple rows and columns based on the difference in display brightness.
- multiple display partitions i.e., partitions 1 to 9 shown in FIG. 5 or FIG. 6
- multiple display partitions can be arranged in three rows and three columns.
- multiple display partitions can be arranged in nine rows and nine columns, or multiple display partitions can be arranged in two rows and seven columns.
- the widths of the display partitions in the same row are equal, and the lengths of the display partitions in the same column can be equal. In this way, it is convenient to perform gamma correction on at least one display partition among the multiple display partitions.
- each display partition can be parallel to the pixel column extension direction of the display panel (i.e., the Y direction shown in Figures 5 and 6), and the length of each display partition can be parallel to the pixel row extension direction of the display panel (i.e., the X direction shown in Figures 5 and 6).
- each display partition located in the same row can be flexibly adjusted according to the difference in display brightness of the display panel, and the width of each display partition located in the same column can also be flexibly adjusted.
- the position of each display partition in the display panel can be flexibly adjusted. It can be seen that the division method of dividing the display panel based on the difference in display brightness is highly flexible and can be applied to display panels with different brightness differences.
- any two display partitions among the multiple display partitions have the same length and the same width.
- each of the multiple display partitions may be a rectangle, so that it is convenient to perform gamma correction on at least one of the multiple display partitions.
- the size of each display partition may be smaller than a size threshold.
- the size threshold may be 10 inches. In this way, it can be ensured that after the display panel is driven based on the voltage correspondence relationship of the multiple display partitions obtained after correction, the display brightness of the display panel is relatively uniform.
- Step 202 for each target pixel in the display panel, based on the voltage correspondence relationship of the first display subarea where the target pixel is located, determine a first gamma voltage corresponding to a target grayscale to be displayed by the target pixel.
- the driving circuit determines the first display subarea where the target pixel is located based on the position of the target pixel in the display panel and the positions of the plurality of display subareas in the display panel. Afterwards, the driving circuit can determine the first gamma voltage corresponding to the target grayscale from the voltage correspondence between the grayscale of the first display subarea and the gamma voltage based on the target grayscale to be displayed by the target pixel.
- the position of each display partition in the display panel and the position of each pixel in the display panel can be pre-stored by the driving circuit.
- the position of each display partition in the display panel of the multiple display partitions can be characterized by the position of the upper left pixel of the display partition in the display panel and the position of the lower right pixel in the display panel.
- the position of each pixel in the display panel can refer to: the coordinates of the pixel in the coordinate system where the display panel is located.
- the coordinate system can be a coordinate system established with a point on the display panel (for example, the upper left vertex of the display panel) as the coordinate origin, the pixel row extension direction of the display panel as the horizontal axis extension direction, and the pixel column extension direction of the display panel as the vertical axis extension direction.
- Step 203 determining at least one second gamma voltage corresponding to a target grayscale to be displayed by a target pixel based on a voltage correspondence relationship of at least one second display subarea adjacent to the first display subarea.

- the driving circuit can directly determine partition 2 as the second display partition.
- partition 1 and partition 3 are both adjacent to partition 2. However, since the distance from partition 1 to pixel P2 is closer than the distance from partition 3 to pixel P2, the driving circuit can determine partition 1 as the second display partition.
- the driving circuit may determine partition 3 as the second display partition.
- the driving circuit may first determine the display partition adjacent to the first display partition in the direction of pixel row extension and closest to the target pixel as the first second display partition, and determine the display partition adjacent to the first display partition in the direction of pixel column extension and closest to the target pixel as the second second display partition. Afterwards, the driving circuit may determine the display partitions adjacent to the first second display partition and the second second display partition as the third second display partition. It can be seen that the three second display partitions are arranged in a rectangular shape with the first display partition.
- the driving circuit can first determine the first second display partition and the second second display partition, and then determine the third second display partition. If the number of display partitions adjacent to the first display partition is equal to 3, the driving circuit can directly determine the three display partitions adjacent to the first display partition as three second display partitions.
- the driving circuit can directly determine partition 2, partition 4 and partition 5 adjacent to partition 1 as the second display partition.
- the driving circuit can determine partition 5 as the first second display partition. Since the distance between partition 1 and pixel P5 is greater than the distance between partition 7 and pixel P5 in the direction of pixel column extension, the driving circuit can determine partition 1 as the second second display partition. - the driving circuit can determine partition 6 as the first second display partition, partition 2 as the second second display partition, and partition 3 as the third second display partition.
- Step 204 Use a linear difference algorithm to process the first gamma voltage, at least one second gamma voltage, the position of the central pixel of the first display partition in the display panel, and the position of the central pixel of each second display partition in the display panel to obtain a mapping relationship between the gamma voltage and the pixel position.
- the driving circuit can use a linear difference algorithm to process the first gamma voltage, at least one second gamma voltage, the position of the central pixel of the first display partition in the display panel, and the position of the central pixel of each second display partition in the display panel to obtain a mapping relationship between the gamma voltage and the pixel position.
- mapping relationship between the gamma voltage obtained by the driving circuit and the pixel position refers to: the mapping relationship between the gamma voltage and the horizontal coordinate of the pixel.
- the process of the driving circuit obtaining the mapping relationship between the gamma voltage and the pixel position may include: the driving circuit may first use a linear difference algorithm to process the position of the central pixel of the first display partition, the first gamma voltage, and the position of the central pixel of a second display partition arranged along the extension direction of the pixel row (or pixel column) of the first display partition, and the second gamma voltage determined based on the voltage correspondence relationship of the second display partition, to obtain a first sub-mapping relationship between the first sub-gamma voltage and the pixel horizontal coordinate (or pixel column coordinate), and then use a linear difference algorithm to process the positions of the central pixels of the other two second display partitions, and the other two gamma voltages, to obtain a second sub-mapping relationship between the second sub-gamma voltage and the pixel horizontal coordinate (or pixel column coordinate). After that, the driving circuit may again use a linear difference algorithm to process the first sub-
