Abstract

The present device relates to metering mechanisms for foodstuffs. The device comprises a container for sugar which is closable by a lid and is in the form of a reservoir having on its bottom an opening for releasing sugar into the region of a metering mechanism. Said metering mechanism comprises a hollow body with an internal thread on the wall thereof for fasteningly receiving the cylindrical reservoir, which has a corresponding external thread. The metering mechanism has a channel in the form of a slotted cavity between the inner wall of the metering mechanism and the internal thread of the metering mechanism, wherein an extension of said cavity runs along a wall of the metering mechanism configured in the form of a spout. This allows the metered delivery of specific servings of sugar without the risk of the sugar sticking to the walls of the sugar container or to the walls of the metering mechanism over the course of time due to the effect of steam.

Description

SUGAR BOWL WITH DISPENSER
The device relates to food dispensers. More specifically to sugar bowls with a dispenser.
Solutions are known from the prior art according to patent US 939066 for a dosing sugar bowl. The solution is structurally difficult to technically manufacture. The dispenser is located at the bottom, which makes it difficult to pour sugar into the cup. Another disadvantage is that the dispenser is a device consisting of many elements that block the flow of sugar from the spout. This leads to the fact that when sugar is poured over hot tea or coffee, water vapor rises, penetrates into the dosing chamber and contributes to the adhesion of some sugar crystals to the walls. Thus, over time, the dispenser becomes clogged with stuck sugar and needs to be cleaned.

The solution according to the patent US 1217078 for a sugar bowl with a dispenser contains a cavity with sugar, from which sugar is poured down through the holes into a central dispenser. Another disadvantage of the sugar bowl is that when sugar is poured over hot tea or coffee, water vapor heats the cavity with sugar, and some of it penetrates into the central dispenser and then through the holes into the cavity with sugar, where it is deposited on the walls. When you turn the sugar bowl back, the sugar falls on the walls with water vapor and sticks to them. Thus, over time, the dispenser cavity becomes clogged with stuck sugar and needs to be cleaned. A sugar bowl is known according to patent US 1123974. It describes a sugar bowl with a dispenser containing a hermetically sealed container for sugar, equipped with a hole for pouring sugar into the dispenser area, which contains a hole for pouring sugar from the sugar bowl.
It has the same disadvantages as in previous solutions. When sugar is poured over hot tea or coffee, water vapor rises, penetrates into the dosing chamber and causes some sugar crystals to stick to the walls from the pouring area. Thus, over time, the dispenser becomes clogged with stuck sugar and needs to be cleaned.
The above-described disadvantages are eliminated by the well-known technical solution described below, chosen as the closest analogue.
The prototype describes a sugar bowl with a dispenser (RU 134769 U, publ. November 27, 2013), containing a hermetically sealed container for sugar, equipped with a hole for pouring sugar into the dispenser area, which contains a hole for pouring sugar from the sugar bowl, characterized in that the container for sugar made of at least two separable parts, and located inside the cavity with support against the walls of the cavity, and the cavity is made of at least two separable parts, the hole for pouring sugar into the dispenser area is made at the bottom of the container with sugar, and the dispenser channel is the inner walls of the cavity, and the hole for pouring sugar out of the sugar bowl is located in the upper part of the cavity in which the container is placed.
The sugar bowl is configured to form a dose of sugar in such a way that its volume depends on the distance from the hole for pouring sugar into the dispenser area to the cup or plate of the dispenser level regulator installed at the bottom of the inner part of the cavity.
The technical result of the claimed solution is the implementation of the possibility of dispensing a strictly defined portion of sugar while eliminating the possibility of sugar sticking to the walls of the container with sugar or to the walls of the dispenser over time due to exposure to water vapor.
The technical problem of the known solution is the design complexity of manufacturing a sugar bowl with double walls. The objective of the claimed solution is to eliminate the specified technical problem while maintaining the advantages inherent in the prototype.

Figure 9 shows a prototype made according to the utility model (an example proving the production of a dosed portion of sugar).
6. The claimed sugar bowl (see Figure 1) contains a container for sugar in the form of a hopper 6, closed with a lid 11, equipped at its bottom with a hole 10 for pouring sugar into the dispenser area, inside the cavity of which the hopper 6 is fixed.
5. What is new is that the dispenser 1 is made of a cavity with an internal thread 3 for fixing a cylindrical hopper 6 with a corresponding external thread 8 in it. The channel for dispensing sugar in the dispenser is a slot cavity 13 located between the inner wall 4 of the dispenser 1 and the internal thread 3 of the dispenser , which has a continuation along the wall 4 of the dispenser, made in the form of a trench 5.
This design ensures the achievement of a technical result as in the prototype - the ability to dispense a strictly defined portion of sugar while eliminating the possibility of sugar sticking to the walls of the container with sugar or to the walls of the dispenser over time due to exposure to water vapor.
The rationale for achieving this result will be disclosed below.
But unlike the prototype, the claimed device is structurally simpler to manufacture, since it does not have double walls and consists of only 3 elements - dispenser 1, hopper 6 and hopper cover 11. Moreover, all these elements can be made, for example, from plastic by molding (the easiest method to manufacture). The hopper 6 may also be made of clear glass or clear plastic so that the user can see when the sugar is gone.
Dispenser 1 can also be made of metal.
Moreover, the dispenser 1 in the area of pouring sugar from the hole 10 of the hopper 6 can be made with an opening through which the user can see how a portion of sugar is formed at the bottom of the dispenser. This makes it possible not to make the hopper transparent, since the presence/absence of sugar in the hopper will then be visible by the presence/absence of sugar in the form of a dosed slide at the bottom of the dispenser.
The above-described opening of the dispenser 1 can be closed with transparent glass (not shown in the drawings) or plastic to reduce the risk of accidental spillage of sugar through the opening if the device is used incorrectly.
The hopper 6 can be fixed in the dispenser 1 in such a way that the hole 10 for pouring sugar from the hopper is located opposite the dispenser bowl 2, which is fixed to the bottom of the dispenser 1. The bowl 2 of the dispenser 1 is located from the hole 10 of the hopper 6 at such a distance and the bottom of the bowl 2 is made such a depth to form the required volume of a slide of dosed sugar.
11. The hopper 6 (see Fig. 2) is closed by a lid 11, and the principle of fixing the lid 11 on the hopper 6 can be based, for example, on a threaded connection due to the external thread 7 at the top of the hopper cylinder and the internal thread 12 at the lid 11.
The hopper is removable from the dispenser for the need to replenish its container with sugar.
11. To fill the hopper 6 with sugar, turn the hopper upside down, remove the lid 11, fill the hopper 6 with sugar 14 (see Fig. 3), then close the lid 11.
1. After which (see Fig. 4(B)) the hopper 6 is turned over with the lid 11 up and screwed into the internal thread 3 of the dispenser 1.
The utility model in working condition is shown in Figure 4(A).
5. The principle of pouring sugar 14 from the dispenser 1 so that the possibility of sugar sticking to the walls of the container with sugar or to the walls of the dispenser over time due to exposure to water vapor is eliminated, based on (see Fig. 3) the use of a slot cavity 13 between the inner wall 4 of the dispenser 1 and internal the front thread 3 of the dispenser 1, which has a continuation along the wall 4 of the dispenser, made in the form of a trench 5.
6. At the moment the dispenser 1 is tilted in the working position (together with the hopper 6) (see Fig. 6), sugar 14 is poured from the bottom of the dispenser 1, or from the bowl 2 located there, and, sliding along the wall 4 of the dispenser 1, passes through the slot cavity 13 and then slides along the chute 5. The sugar is poured in such a way that the steam from tea or coffee does not touch the inner surface of the chute 5 and does not get inside the dispenser 1, much less inside the hopper 6.
The device has been tested. A prototype model was made on a 3D printer, with the help of which the stated technical result was successfully achieved (see Figs. 7-9). Moreover, see Fig.9, the device made it possible to pour a strictly dosed amount of sugar from the dispenser.
