Abstract

The invention relates to the field of hairdressing, and more particularly to methods for lengthening short hair and increasing hair volume. The technical result of the invention, which consists in reducing the labour-intensiveness of a hair extension procedure and improving the quality of execution of the procedure, is achieved in that a section of donor hair is gripped between the index finger and thumb of one hand, the ends of the protruding section are trimmed to an even length and, with the grip of the thumb temporarily relaxed, the section is distributed evenly in a fan shape on the index finger, a pre-melted glue capsule is then applied to form an adhesive base of a given width; once the glue has set, the donor section is combed and the edge thereof is trimmed again to an even length along the adhesive base, and the prepared section is separated into strands for connection to a selected native strand by placing the donor strand so that the adhesive base is below the native strand and then heating the adhesive base and forming a fastening capsule around the donor and native strands of hair by uniformly squeezing with the fingers.

DESCRIPTION

The invention relates to the field of hairdressing, namely to methods for changing the length of short hair into longer ones and increasing hair volume [A41G 5/00, A41G 5/004, A41G 5/0046, A41G 5/0053, A41G 5/0066].

A METHOD OF HAIR EXTENSIONS [US2009188514 (A1), publ.: 07/30/2009] is known from the prior art, including the following steps: preparation of hair extensions depending on the hairstyle and length of the original hair; grouping, which involves the act of separating the original hair into an upper region near the crown of the head; and lower area near the neck; group the lower area into several initial groups of hair, each of which has an end and several strands; and also group the hair extensions into several groups of hair extensions, corresponding in number to the original hair groups; and each group of hair extensions having an end and a plurality of strands substantially corresponding in number of strands to the corresponding original group of hair; gluing, which includes the steps of preparing a sleeve with hot-melt adhesive on each group of hair extensions; the end of each group of hair extensions and the end of the corresponding original group of hair are adjacent and overlap each other, forming an overlapping section; and the overlapped section is mixed with glue and subjected to hot pressing; wrapping, including the action of sliding a sleeve of hot melt adhesive over the overlapping section; a sleeve of hot melt adhesive is hot pressed and melted around the overlapping section to further bond the extension hair group and the original hair group together; and shaping, wherein the top portion of the original hair is arranged to cover the overlapping areas, and the original hair is further styled.

There is also a known METHOD FOR ATTACHING ADDITIONAL HAIR TO HUMAN HAIR [US2004168699 (A1), publ.: 09/02/2004], which includes the following steps: selecting multiple strands of human hair growing on the scalp; directly contacting the bonded portion of the additional hair bundle with the heating element and fusing the glued portion to change the glued portion from a solidified state to a workable viscosity, wherein the additional hair bundle includes a plurality of additional strands glued together to the glued portion thermoplastic adhesive and also clamp the bonded portion of the additional hair bundle together with a selected plurality of human hair strands using a heating element and allow the thermoplastic adhesive to be mixed with the plurality of human hair strands. The method further includes the step of forming a joint between the human hair strands and the additional hair bundle and directly contacting the joint with a heating element and the step of clamping the adhesive portion of the additional hair bundle in a solidified state to a selected plurality of human hair strands using the heating element and fusing the adhesive portion.

The closest in technical essence is the METHOD OF HIDDEN HAIR ATTACHMENT [RU2756269 (C1), publ.: 09.29.2021], including:

- preliminary preparation of hair, in which at least one base is isolated - the hair web - and the donor strand is prepared;

- the beginning of the formation of a fixing capsule, during which the base - hair sheet - is pulled and smoothed with one hand, the donor strand is inserted into the base - sheet and their mutual fixation is carried out with the other hand;

- and gluing the donor strand, in which glue is applied to the cut of the upper part of the donor strand, pressed against the base - the hair fiber, impregnated with glue, while one of the hands fixing the donor strand performs constant tactile control of the tension of the donor strand and the base - sheets of hair, then with one hand they pull and fix the base - the sheet of hair - with the donor strand, and with the other hand fold the base - the sheet of hair - in half, wrapping the donor strand, and make an additional turn with the hand with the base - the sheet of hair, without opening the fingers, complete wrapping, after which the formation of the fixing capsule is completed by uniform compaction with the fingers, at the end of which an activator is applied, characterized in that cyanoacrylate glue is used as an adhesive, while the formation of the fixing capsule is made conical, expanding towards the bottom, and during preliminary preparation the structure of the hair is determined, depending on which the quantity and location of the applied activator is selected.

The main technical problem of the analogues and the prototype is the high labor intensity of the hair extension procedure due to the alignment and encapsulation of each strand of donor hair separately, which ultimately leads to a decrease in the quality of the procedure due to the accumulation of fatigue of the master, loss of attention by the master and deterioration of the coordination of his movements, increased muscle tone (spasticity), which additionally leads to various motor disorders. In addition, an increase in the time required to complete a procedure invariably leads to an increase in the cost of the procedure for the client.

The objective of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages of analogues and the prototype.

The technical result of the invention is to reduce the labor intensity of the hair extension procedure and improve the quality of the procedure.

This technical result is achieved due to the fact that the method of hair extensions, characterized by isolating the patient’s own strand of hair, preparing the donor strand, connecting the own and donor strands using an adhesive method, characterized in that the cut of the donor hair, which has undergone initial mechanical, thermal and chemical treatment, is clamped in the palm of the hand, so that the said cut protrudes outward from the hand by 2-4 cm, while the protruding cut is clamped between the index and thumb of the same hand, the tips of the protruding cut are aligned and, temporarily loosening the fixation with the thumb, the cut is evenly distributed on the index finger like a fan , apply a pre-melted adhesive capsule to a section of donor hair protruding from the palm, thereby forming an adhesive base with a width of 4 to 10 mm at the top and bottom of the fan of the donor hair section, after forming the adhesive base of the donor hair section and hardening of the glue, holding the section of donor hair at the base comb it and re-align the edge of the cut with scissors along the adhesive base, leaving the adhesive base 1-3 mm wide and divide the prepared section of donor hair into strands to connect them with the selected own strand by placing the donor strand with the adhesive base under your own strand, followed by heating the adhesive base and forming a fixing capsule around the donor and your own hair strands by uniform compaction with your fingers.

Implementation of the invention.

The hair extension procedure consists of preliminary, main and final stages. The preliminary stage includes consultation and preparation of donor yarns, the main stage involves preparing the client's own hair and adding donor hair extensions to the client's own hair, and the final stage involves the final processing of the hair.

Preliminary stage.

During the consultation, the desired goal is determined (increasing the length of all hair, creating a complex hairstyle, selectively adding colored strands, etc.), the type of hair extensions, and making sure that the length and quality of the client’s own hair is suitable for extensions. The consultation can be held in advance, not necessarily on the day of the extension procedure, in order to give the specialist time to prepare the donor strands.

Preparation of donor strands. The initial mechanical, thermal and chemical treatment, as well as separation into strands, takes place at the factory; the hair arrives at the salon in prepared form in the form of a cut. The stage of preparing donor strands includes applying an adhesive strip to a cut of donor strands. To do this, heat the tongs and, using the mentioned tongs, heat the adhesive capsule until it softens. The tongs with the melted adhesive capsule are left on the table.

Next, the master takes a section of donor hair, places it in the palm of his hand so that the said section protrudes upward from the hand, while the master places the section on the I-III phalanges of the index finger and fixes it in the palm, pressing it on the index finger with the thumb of the same hand and three other fingers in the palm. The protruding part of the donor hair cut will serve as the base. The cut from the index finger should protrude predominantly by 2-4 cm. This is due to the fact that if the length of the protruding cut is more than 4 cm, the said cut of donor hair will bend under the influence of its own gravity and further operations to prepare the cut of donor hair for extensions will be difficult from the point from the point of view of the accuracy of the formation of the base of donor hair. If the length of the protruding cut is less than 2 cm, the difficulty of forming the base will be associated with the risk of burns from the hot tweezers, as well as the fact that part of the cut is covered with the thumb, which ensures that the cut of the donor hair is pressed against the index finger.

Next, the master aligns the ends of the protruding section of donor hair with scissors and, loosening the fixation with his thumb, evenly distributes the section on the index finger like a fan, after which he again fixes the section of donor hair with his thumb to the index finger. In the next step, the master applies a pre-melted adhesive capsule using tongs to a section of donor hair protruding from the palm, thereby forming an adhesive base for a section of donor hair. When applying glue, the master ensures that it is evenly applied from above and below the cut onto a strip 4 to 10 mm wide along the edge of the cut and waits until the applied glue hardens. This width of the adhesive base is due to the fact that if its width is less than 4 mm, when further leveling the cut, the master will not always have the opportunity to do it evenly, since when applying glue to a cut of donor hair, a violation of the cut edge is inevitable and for alignment it is necessary to cut off the edge of the cut along with adhesive base, taking into account that the final width of the base should be 1-3 mm. The width of the adhesive base of more than 10 mm leads to increased consumption of the adhesive capsule and the glue that the master has previously prepared may simply not be enough to cut the donor hair. In this case, the master will have to prepare a new portion of glue, and at this time the glue already applied to the cut of donor hair will harden and re-melting it to apply a new portion of glue leads to overheating of the donor hair and can lead to its destruction. After forming the adhesive base of the donor hair section and the glue hardening, the master, holding the donor hair section at the base, combs it and uses scissors to align the cut along the adhesive base, leaving an adhesive base 1-3 mm wide. This completes the preliminary stage.

At the client’s request, the preliminary and main stages are carried out on the same day sequentially or the operations for preparing donor strands are combined with the main stage.

Main stage.

Preparing the client's own hair. Hair must be clean and free of traces of styling products and grease. If you need to change the color of the base hair, curl or straighten it, these procedures are also performed at this stage of the main stage.

Extension. The master places the prepared section of donor hair with an adhesive base formed on it in the form of an adhesive strip on the working surface in a place accessible for work and divides it into strands of thickness, depending on the quality of the client’s own hair and the purpose determined during the consultation. The thickness of a strand of donor hair should preferably match the thickness of a strand of the client's own hair. On the client’s head, using a comb or a pointed stick, select a strand of his own hair of the required thickness, comb and hold the selected strand with one hand, take a strand of donor hair with the other hand and place it with an adhesive base under the strand of the patient’s own hair to the place of attachment, pressing the strand of donor hair with the adhesive base to own strand of hair.

Holding the strands of donor and own hair in the place of their attachment with the fingers of one hand, take the tongs with the other hand and intercept the place of the mentioned connection with them. Holding the tongs, heat the glue at the adhesive base of the donor hair strand. After heating and softening the glue of the adhesive base, remove the tongs, and with the fingers of the other hand, finish forming the fixing capsule around the strands of donor and own hair by uniformly compacting it with the fingers.

The actions are repeated for the remaining own strands sequentially.

The final stage. At this stage, the result obtained is monitored, and the client’s hair extensions are cut and styled.

A new, distinctive feature from the classic method of hair extensions using adhesive capsules is that the described method allows you to reduce the time of hair extensions for the client and, accordingly, the time spent in the master’s chair, by preliminary preparation of strands of donor hair, which consists in encapsulating them in strands before extensions . With pre-prepared strands of donor hair with a formed adhesive base, it is easier for the master to work with the mentioned strands, they do not get tangled, since they are already fastened on one side, their ends are already completely aligned when they are in the cut, which again reduces the time for preparing donor strands, since in this case the cut is aligned along the adhesive base once, and if each strand of donor hair is encapsulated separately, then its ends will also have to be aligned separately and with a significant volume of extensions this leads to fatigue of the master and the client, the master loses attention, and deteriorates the coordination of his movements , increased muscle tone (spasticity) of both the master and the client, which additionally leads to various motor disorders and ultimately to a deterioration in the quality of the result obtained, which can be expressed in a deterioration in the reliability of attaching a strand of donor hair to one’s own hair, increasing the visibility of the attachment, highlighting insufficient or excess amount of the client's own hair. In addition, in this way it is easier to adjust the size of the glue capsule and make them equal. From 2021 to the present, the author of the invention has successfully used the described method when performing the hair extension procedure. Practice has shown that the described method, due to the simultaneous preparation of strands of donor hair in a section by aligning them when fixing them in the hand between the index and thumb, applying a pre-melted adhesive capsule with the formation of an adhesive base on the entire section of donor hair, re-aligning and dividing the section into strands, each of which contains an adhesive base, allows you to perform the extension procedure for an average volume of hair on average within 2 hours. When performing the procedure using the methods given in analogues, the time increases by 2 times, on average up to 4 hours. The indicated time indicators have been confirmed in practice.

Client Evgenia, 22 years old. A procedure of hair extensions 25 cm long was carried out on the client’s own hair up to 10 cm long. According to the client’s feedback, 10 days after the procedure, the donor hair does not create discomfort, there is no tension on the own hair, the capsule cannot be felt with the fingers.

Client Sonya, 27 years old. A procedure was carried out to apply hair extensions 50 cm long onto own hair up to 20 cm long. According to the client's feedback, after 3 weeks of wearing, thanks to this method of hair extensions, the junction of the donor strands with one's own hair is invisible, the capsules are smaller. According to the client, hair styling is simple, the capsules are small, do not interfere with everyday styling and are not felt. Hair care has not become more complicated, only the time it takes to dry hair after washing has increased. She plans to carry out a hair extension procedure using the described method with a length of 70-80 cm.
