Abstract

The present invention relates to an automatic ignition system for frost-protection devices used in the field of agriculture. Said device comprises an S-shaped lighting nozzle (1) which is made of a heat-resistant material and includes an outlet (9) for injecting a flammable liquid onto the upper surface of the frost-protection device, such as a paraffin candle, and means (10, 10') for creating sparks when the liquid is injected. A pump (12) interacts on one side with the nozzle via a central channel in order to propel the flammable liquid onto the upper surface of the candle, and on the other side with a reservoir containing the flammable liquid. All the system components are managed by a control unit comprising an electronic board and an electric power supply. Said electronic board is connected to a means for measuring the outside temperature of the environment in which the device and the candle are located to enable the candle lighting process to be triggered automatically by activating the pump and the spark creation circuit. The system can also be remotely controlled.
