Description

A GRIP DESIGN WITH AN INSERT MANUFACTURED IN ONE PIECE BY
INJECTION
Technical Field
The invention relates to a grip design with an insert joined by injection, that can be fastened to the user on the belt part, providing ease of carrying for the user of the firearm, and designed to eliminate the situations that may cause the loss of the firearm and/or the unwanted drop or loss of the same when on the move.
State of the Art
Today, carrying firearms is generally done by fastening the firearm holsters to the belt buckles on the waist portion of the user. However, situations that require sudden movements that may occur in the use of firearms by both civilians and law enforcement officers, sudden reflexes that may occur during the operation/in daily life, and the drop of firearms in moments of collision put both the user and the persons around in a difficult situation.
If the firearm goes off unexpectedly when dropped, the user will have the potential to injure him/herself or the persons around. In a different scenario, a firearm dropped unintentionally during the operations of law enforcement officers will cause the user to waste time reaching the firearm, and to be late to protect him/herself.
For users in the naval forces, the firearm which leaves the holster when the personnel on the marine vessels are on the move, can fall directly into the sea and deprive the user of the defense means.
For users in the air forces, the same case may result in the firearm which leaves the holster falling during traveling, reconnaissance, or operation at an altitude of hundreds or thousands of meters. This situation will also cause more life-threatening events for the persons around if the firearm goes off unintentionally when dropped or falls into the hands of unwanted persons. In the same cases, the loss of the firearm will put the user in a difficult situation. Firearm lost during operation will cause the user to fail to defend him/herself, and in the future, the embezzled property will be lost and various sanctions will be imposed on the user.
Lost firearms may cause unwanted crimes to be imputed to the user due to the fingerprint on the firearm. In a different scenario, users in law' enforcement will be subject to material/moral sanctions for failing to claim the embezzled property after the loss of firearms.
One of the issues that a lost firearm can cause is that the lost firearm falls into the hands of unwanted persons. If the firearm is found by a child, the child who believes that the firearm is a toy, and starts to play with his/her friends will endanger other persons and children around.
In order to avoid these problems, there are examples of grips designed and used previously that can be used with various inserts. The insert attachment point is under the grip in the currently used products. During the use of these and similar designs, undesirable situations may occur such as snagging and breaking of the hook while engaging the insert hook to the attachment point. Although the user uses these designs to fasten the gun, they cannot achieve the desired efficiency.
Patent application No. US2003213823 discloses a flexible spiral cord that can be used to fasten a gun, especially a pistol, to the user’s body. It is noted that there are rotating hooks at both ends of said cable and that the hook to be attached to the gun is intended to be engaged to a ring on the grip of the gun.
A similar mechanism is also mentioned in the disclosure of patent application No. US2019162502. In this embodiment, it is aimed to attach the cord to the attachment point formed in the lower part of the grip of the gun. In this embodiment, the structure used for attachment under the grip is in a ring form.
The cord attachment mechanisms formed in the lower part of the grip of the gun may cause undesirable situations such as snagging, hook breakage, etc. during the use of the gun while engaging the insert hook to the attachment point. The formation of the cord attachment points of the mechanisms described above and belonging to the state of the art under the grip may also cause a significant handicap while changing magazines. Again, the fact that an attachment ring is placed on the base of the grip will make it difficult to attach apparatus such as magwell and like under the grip.
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
It is thought that the grip with insert according to the invention can be used as a precaution against the above-mentioned negative situations. The insert that is fixed to the grip will prevent the drawbacks such as dropping and losing by fixing the same with the spiral cable that can be attached to it.
The gun safety ring (insert), which is called the safety cord, is intended to be placed on the gun without affecting its performance.
Considering the possibility of the magazine getting stuck in the insert in case of sudden magazine changes that may occur during use, the position of the insert is determined to be unitary on the grip. Thus, it is devised to prevent undesirable situations such as the breakage of the insert attachment point.
At the same time, it is advantageous to design the designed grip such that it can be used with the magwell apparatus, which provides for ease and speed in changing the magazine. Thus, when a sudden magazine change is needed, the user will be able to change the magazine without wasting time.

Description of the Invention
The invention relates to a grip with an insert (1), that has at least one attachment point in order to be fastened to the user on the belt part with at least one cable (11), and that can be detached and attached from/to the firearm body (12), providing ease of canying for the user of the firearm (13), and designed to eliminate the situations that may cause the loss of the firearm (13) and/or the unwanted drop or loss of the same when on the move.
In the configuration of said grip with insert (1), which can be detached and attached from/to the firearm body (12), the insert attachment point (9) formed in one piece is located on the back of the grip (2) so that it can be accessed externally on the back, by joining the grip (2) and the insert part (3) having at least one insert attachment point (9) with injection pressing.
The method of manufacturing said grip with insert (1), which can be detached and attached from/to the firearm body (12), consists of the following process steps.
® Making at least one part of the grip (2), which can be detached and attached from/to the firearm body (12), of polymer, ® making at least one part of the insert part (3) having at least one insert attachment point (9), of polymer,
® in order to make the attachment point (9) in one piece such that it can be accessed externally on the back of the grip (2), making the grip with insert (1) in one piece to have at least one insert attachment point (9), by joining the grip (2) and the insert part (3) having at least one insert attachment point (9) with injection.
A different manufacturing method has been researched in order to prevent the insert part (3) from subjecting to situations such as breakage, rupture, and displacement, and it has been devised to avoid these problems with the novel designed grip (2). Accordingly, studies have been carried out on the manufacturing of the grip (2) and the insert part (3) in one piece by injection method.
Referring to Figure 1, the insert part (3) and thus the obtained grip with insert (1) have 1 insert attachment point (9).
In order to prevent manufactured grips with insert (1) from coming loose from the firearm body (12) in any case, they are assembled to the firearm body (12) by means of two different attachments by interlocking.
The first of these attachments is done by matching the grip slots (5) on the back of the firearm body (12) with the grip engagement teeth (6) inside the grip with insert (1). The second attachment is provided by engaging the pin (7) to the pin hole (8) by aligning the body atachment point (12) on the firearm body (12) with the pin hole (8) on the grip with insert (1).
Once the assembly process is completed, it becomes possible to attach to the grip with insert (1) various extension and/or spring apparatus by means of the apparatus hook ( 10) engaged to the insert attachment point (9), depending on the user demands. This apparatus attachment process will prevent possible drawbacks by keeping the firearm (13) fastened to the user, even if the user does not contact with the firearm (13) undesirably.
By attaching various extension and/or spring apparatus such as cable (11) to the firearm (13), user demands will be satisfied and needs will be met. According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the cable (11) is in a spiral form.
