Description

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GESTURE-BASED SORTING OF USER PROFILES BASED ON USER PREFERENCE IN A NETWORK ENVIRONMENT FIELD OF THE INVENTION: [0001] This invention relates generally to a system and method for sorting profiles of a plurality of users based on user’s preference, and more particularly, to a system and method for sorting plurality of user’s profiles based on customised user preferences for the purpose of matching. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION: [0002] Online dating, matchmaking, and networking have grown huge in recent years. While some believe that online dating is simply a matter of matching supply and demand, there is statistical and empirical evidence to suggest that successful online dating entails far more. For example, people having similar and/or compatible character traits and values should be matched together. However, effectively linking two participants together can prove to be a challenging endeavour. Coordinating a relationship between two like-minded individuals can be a significant chore. [0003] Further, almost all dating and matchmaking apps use their own automated or machine learning to understand user preference. This way of generating a profile pool is simply flawed and oppressive. For example, a user may be just looking for someone nearby ignoring other criteria or the same user may be looking for someone who shares the same interests as him or her. This makes the current industry user’s preference oppressive and tedious. [0004] A significant problem with the machine-fed pool is that profiles often contain many irrelevant profiles to the viewer or first user. This costs the user’s their time and motivation. This may deter them from continuing through all the machine generated profiles pool. This also deter users to use the apps as it becomes time consuming and not productive. There is a significant benefit provided by the method of sorting using gesture-based on user preference. Instead of a machine-fed pool of profiles, users can set their own preferences which make them get what they want and save their time as they don’t have to deal with an unpreferred pool of profiles. Also, their preference can be learned by the system and used in many other ways. [0005] Another significant problem is that large pools of unpreferred profiles can become a nuisance to the user. Too many unpreferred profiles may deter the user from further use of the system. Users with the most attractive profiles are oftentimes the ones that receive the most unwanted attention and are loaded with machine-learned unpreferred profiles. If the users with the most attractive profiles cease to use the system, the quality of the user pool deteriorates. By using our User-based sorting this can be easily prevented. We are empowering the users to sort the profiles according to their preference just by a simple gesture. [0006] Moreover, the search results of these services contain many irrelevant entities to the searcher. This costs the user of the service time and may deter them from continuing through all of the search results. [0007] The present invention tries to solve issues and problems faced by the currently available dating applications. Accordingly, the primary objective of the present invention is to provide a system that enables users to sort profiles based on his/ her preference for the purpose of matching. [0008] Yet another objective of the present invention is to provides a profile matching system enabling the user to get matches/ profiles that shares similar to the domains of interest. [0009] Still another objective of the present invention is to provide a virtual system that helps in connecting the users with like-minded people. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION: [0010] The present invention discloses a system for profile matching in a virtual environment based on user-preference based sorting. [0011] The present invention further discloses a method for determining a plurality of potential match for a user in a virtual environment based on the location and other interests shared by the users in their profiles. [0012] Accordingly, the present system relates to the sorting of profiles using gesture-based user preference. The sorting criteria are 1) Recommended 2) Most Popular 3) Nearby 4) Interest 5) Verified and 6) Online. [0013] Just with simple gestures users can sort and view user’s profiles based on their preference. Just tapping on the Profile Mode Icon changes the Profile Mode. [0014] The method includes receiving a preference indication from the user to generate and display the user's profile pool. The method also includes determining a potential match user profile of the plurality of user profiles based on the preference indicator for the user. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS: [0015] The invention is further described in the detailed description that follows, by reference to the noted drawings by way of illustrative embodiments of the invention, in which like reference numerals represent similar parts throughout the drawings. [0026] Any embodiment described herein is not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over other embodiments. All of the embodiments described in this detailed description are illustrative, and provided to enable persons skilled in the art to make or use the disclosure and not to limit the scope of the disclosure, which is defined by the claims. [0027] It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made to the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Thus, the present invention covers the modifications and variations of this invention provided they come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents. [0028] In the following description, for the purpose of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the present invention. It will be apparent, however, to one skilled in the art that the present invention can be practiced without these specific details. [0029] According to one of the embodiments of the present invention, the system provides a platform to users to connect with plurality of other users who share common interests. [0030] Another embodiment of the present invention provides the user an option to select mode of sorting of plurality of potential matching profiles (Refer Figure 1). The system of mode of sorting (100) includes sorting based on popularity (102), location (103), interests (104), online status (105), verified status of the profiles (106), and recommendation (101). The system generates user pool/ plurality of potential matching profiles based on such selection of mode by the user (107), and display it to the user (108). [0031] Yet another embodiment provides with a method of sorting plurality of profiles including receiving a preference indication from the user to generate and display the user's profile pool based on the first user preference. The method also includes determining a potential match user profile of the plurality of user profiles based on the preference indicator for the user. [0032] Users can use gestures to select from different profile modes according to their needs for example: Most popular, Nearby, Online, Interest, Recommended, and Verified. Based on these modes, users can find their match easily and according to their preference which will make online dating more desirable and comfortable. [0033] Accordingly, the user interface displaying the profile of a user showing his/ her basic details including name, age and other information also includes a profile mode icon (1) with an instruction pop-up (2) displaying a message “Tap to Change”. Upon tapping this icon (1), the user can change the mode of sorting of his/ her choice (refer Figure 2). [0034] Another embodiment of the present invention provides a system for mode of sorting based on popularity includes sorting the most popular profiles in the ecosystem and listing it decreasing order of popularity. For instance, Figure 3 shows user interface of the user’s profile wherein tapping on the profile mode icon (3) leads to a change in profile mode and the profiles pool is now sorted based on “Most popular” (4). This means Profiles will be sorted based on their popularity. Most popular profiles will be shown first in decreasing order. [0035] Yet another embodiment of the present invention provides a system for mode of sorting based on location of the users viz. sorting profiles based on the distance of the location of the profile from the location of the user, and listing profiles that are nearest to the user with increasing distance. Figure 4 shows user interface of the user’s profile wherein tapping on the profile mode icon (5) leads to a change in profile mode and the profiles pool is now sorted based on “Nearby” (6). This means Profiles will be sorted based on the location of users that are nearest to the user’s location. Nearest profiles will be shown first in the list followed profiles with long distance. [0036] Still another embodiment of the present invention provides a system for mode of sorting based on online status of the plurality of users viz. sorting profiles of active users wherein online users will be shown first followed with active profiles based on their ‘last seen’ data. Figure 5 shows user interface of the user’s profile wherein tapping on the profile mode icon (7) leads to a change in profile mode and the profiles pool is now sorted based on “Online” (8). [0037] Yet another embodiment of the present invention provides a system for mode of sorting based on similar/ same/ common interests of the users. Figure 6 shows user interface of the user’s profile wherein tapping on the profile mode icon (9) leads to a change in profile mode and the profiles pool is now sorted based on “Interest” (10). Here, most similar profiles will be shown first followed by less similar profiles. Once the profile of a user is updated, her/ his profile is ready to be matched with at least one potential compatible profile. This is done by comparing the information provided under the ‘Interest’ column/ tab of the user’s profile with a plurality of other users in the environment. The system picks up a particular interest viz. hobbies, food, movies or books of a user and search for profiles, that shares same/ substantially similar interests shared by the plurality of other users in their profiles, in the database. [0038] Here, the system, based on the search conducted in the database by inputting and search for the particular interest, determines a plurality of profiles that shares same/ substantially similar interests. Upon determining potential matching profiles, the system starts calculating compatibility scores between the user’s profile and each of the potential matching profiles. The total compatibility/ interest matching score between the user’s profile and each of the potential matching profile is calculated by the formula, [0039] Total Interest Matching Score = Σ score(i) * Θ(i) Where score(i) = individual score of respective score calculator [viz. movie, hobby, food, book]; and Θ(i) = weightage of respective score calculators. [0040] In still another embodiment, the mode of sorting by recommendation includes sorting profiles based on the verified status of the profile. Here, verified status means completely authenticated profile viz. profiles that have been verified with original photo of the user. User’s profile will get in app photo verification authentication. This in-app photo verification module will take instant in-app user picture and videos with phone camera. Then the previously uploaded Profile photos will be matched with the in-app camera picture. If matched, the user will be given photo verified status. Other verification methods may include Aadhar verification for Identification verification via OTP, or LinkedIn verification for CV verification. Figure 7 shows user interface of the user’s profile wherein tapping on the profile mode icon (11) leads to a change in profile mode and the profiles pool is now sorted based on “Verified” (12). [0041] In yet another embodiment, the mode of sorting by recommendation includes sorting profiles based on the sum of all the above criteria in descending order. Figure 8 shows user interface of a user’s profile wherein after tapping on the profile mode icon which leads to a change in the profile mode and now the profile pool is sorted in Recommended mode (1) as shown by the pop-up message “Recommended” (13). Under this mode, the user profiles will be sorted based on the sum of all the above criteria viz. Nearby, Most Popular, Interest, Online, and Verified status in descending order.
