Abstract
The present invention relates to a system (1) which enables to create the identity information necessary to get service from a TURN (Traversal Using Relays around NAT) server (T) included in communication applications (3) whereby persons can communicate with each other, and to share them with the communication application (3) over a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) protocol.
Description
A SYSTEM FOR CREATING AND SHARING IDENTITY INFORMATION
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a system which enables to create the identity information necessary to get service from a TURN (Traversal Using Relays around NAT) server included in communication applications whereby persons can communicate with each other, and to share them with the communication application over a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) protocol.
Background of the Invention
The variety of applications that can be used on smartphones and the time spent with applications are on the increase with the development of technology. Instant messaging applications, social media applications, digital content applications, and voice/video call applications are the leading applications which are run on smartphones and frequently preferred by users. Different servers and protocols are used in the said applications due to the fact that security poses a problem and also identity authentication is required in order to get service from the said servers. Therefore, today, there is need for solutions that will enable to carry out authentication transactions so as to get service from TURN server included in communication applications.
The United States patent document no. US9807059B2, an application in the state of the art, discloses a telecommunication device for real-time communication at a border between a global transport network and a private domain of a communication
network; a proxy for a communication protocol; means for traffic using real-time communication protocols to traverse a firewall. The said invention comprises a proxy between the global transport network and the private domain; a controller for the proxy handling requests and responses and transition of communication; an authenticator running on the processor; an authenticator for verifying that a communication participant trusts the telecommunication device and a communication participant is trusted by the telecommunication device; and it can control the transition between the private domain of the global transport network and the communication network in the telecommunication device trusted by the communication participant..
Summary of the Invention
The objective of the present invention is to realize a system which enables to create the identity information necessary to get service from a TURN (Traversal Using Relays around NAT) server included in communication applications whereby persons can communicate with each other, and to share them with the communication application over a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) protocol.
Detailed Description of the Invention
The “System for Creating and Sharing Identity Information” realized to fulfil the objective of the present invention is shown in the figures attached, in which:
Figure 1 is a schematic view of the inventive system for creating and sharing identity information.
The components illustrated in the figure are individually numbered, where the numbers refer to the following:

T: TURN (Traversal Using Relays around NAT) server
The inventive system (1) for creating identity information for communication applications and storing it with the related communication application over a protocol comprises: at least one electronic device (2) which is configured to run at least one application on itself and to establish communication with a remote server by using any remote communication protocol; at least one communication application (3) which is configured to be run on the electronic device (2); to enable at least users to message with other users individually and/or collectively via messages with text, voice, image content and to establish voice and/or video communication; at least one database (4) which is configured to keep the version information of the communication application (3) and the TURN server (T) information under record in itself such that they are matched with the information of number whereby it is aimed to set up a call; at least one SIP server (5) which is configured to establish communication with the electronic device (2) and to realize data exchange with the communication application (3), that is run on the electronic device (2), over
this communication established; to receive a registration request wherein the number of the user who is aimed to be contacted over the communication application (3); to query the number information, that is included in the registration request, in the database (4) and to decide on whether the communication application (3) supports the TURN protocol; in the event that the communication application (3) supports the TURN protocol, to inform the communication application (3); in the event that the communication application (3) does not support the TURN protocol, to generate a timelimited username and password for the TURN server (T) supported by the number and to share it with the communication application (3) so as to ensure that a call is initiated.
The electronic device (2) included in the inventive system (1) is a device such as mobile phone, smartphone, tablet, computer, desktop computer that is configured to run at least one communication application (3) for enabling at least users to message with different users, on itself. The said electronic device (2) is configured to establish communication with the SIP server (5) by using any remote communication protocol included in the state of the art and to realize data exchange with the communication application (3) that is run on the electronic device (2) over this communication established.
The communication application (3) included in the inventive system (1) is configured to be run on the electronic device (2) and to realize data exchange with the SIP server (5) over the communication established between the electronic device (2) and the SIP server (5). The said communication application (3) is an instant messaging application configured to enable at least users to send and/or receive message with text, voice, image content to other users individually and/or collectively in an instant way; and to initiate and/or receive a video and/or voice call. The communication
application (3) is configured to support a SIP protocol and to register to the SIP server (5) by using a TLS protocol. The communication application (3) is configured to register by using a Digest authentication (authentication-RFC3261) flow.
The database (4) included in the inventive system (1) is in communication with the SIP server (5) and configured to be managed by the SIP server (5). The said database (4) is configured to keep the version information of the communication application (3) and the TURN server (T) information supported by the versions, under record in itself. The database (4) is configured to keep the TURN server (T) information that can be used by the calling number such that they are parsed into number-based regions, under record in itself. The database (4) is also configured to keep the backup TURN server (T) information that are positioned in geographically different locations of each region, under record in itself. The database (4) is configured to keep the secret value used for each TURN server (T), under record in itself.
The SIP server (5) included in the inventive system (1) is configured to establish communication with the electronic device (2) and to realize data exchange with the communication application (3), that is run on the electronic device (2), over this communication established. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the SIP server (5) is configured to manage the database (4) by means of transactions such as making a record of new data into the database (4), deleting the data recorded in the database (4), changing the data recorded in the database (4) and updating the data recorded in the database (4). The SIP server (5) is configured to receive a call request from the communication application (3) over this communication established with the electronic device (2) and to query whether the called number information is included in the call request. The SIP server (5) is configured to confirm whether the call request is received for a registration transaction, to control whether it is received from a TLS (Transport Layer Security) link and to query the presence of the called number
in the OPTIONS message. The SIP server (5) is configured to decide on whether the communication application (3) requests a time-limited username TURN identity information and to reply to the communication application (3) by a 200OK message with an empty body part, in the absence of the called number within the OPTIONS message. The SIP server (5) is configured to receive the OPTIONS message; to query the called number information included in the call request, in the database (4); to decide on whether it has a communication application (3) version that supports the TURN protocol; and to return by a 200OK message when it decides that the called number does not support the TURN protocol. The communication application (3) is configured to decide on that the communication application (3) of the called number does not support the TURN protocol when it receives the message and to initiate the call without using the TURN server (T). The SIP server (5) is configured to query the TURN servers (T), that can be used in the database (4), with the called number information and to prioritize the TURN servers (T) when it decides on that the communication application (3) of the called number supports the TURN protocol. The SIP server (5) is configured to generate a time-limited username and password for each TURN server (T), to ensure that the secret values recorded in the database (4) are same as the TURN server (T), and to share them with the communication application (3). Thereby, the communication application (3) starts to communicate with the TURN server (T) by using the TURN protocol. The communication application (3) is configured to switch to communication with the TURN server (T) over the TURN protocol such that the one with the lowest priority area ranks in priority. The communication application (3) is configured to try to get service from the second priority TURN server (T), in the event that it cannot access the TURN server (T) having the lowest priority value that has the highest priority, the communication application (3) - is configured to ensure that a call is initiated by the message flow defined in the SIP protocol after the communication established with the TURN server (T).
The inventive system (1) enables the communication application (3) to decide on which TURN server (T) to use as number-based, and to transmit the time-limited username and password required to get service from this TURN server (T) safely. With the inventive system (1), high-accessibility is provided by sharing the TURN server (T) list in the order of priority and also a call is prevented from failing, by sharing the information whether the called number supports the TURN protocol with the calling number.
The electronic device (2), the communication application (3), the database (4), the SIP server (5) and the TURN server (T) included in the inventive system (1) submit information and approval to the user in accordance with the principles of data privacy and they operate within the scope of the Uaw on Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).
Within these basic concepts; it is possible to develop a wide variety of embodiments of the inventive “System for Creating and Sharing Identity Information”; the invention cannot be limited to examples disclosed herein and it is essentially according to claims.
Claims
1. A system (1) for creating identity information for communication applications and storing it with the related communication application over a protocol; characterized by at least one electronic device (2) which is configured to run at least one application on itself and to establish communication with a remote server by using any remote communication protocol; at least one communication application (3) which is configured to be run on the electronic device (2); to enable at least users to message with other users individually and/or collectively via messages with text, voice, image content and to establish voice and/or video communication; at least one database (4) which is configured to keep the version information of the communication application (3) and the TURN server (T) information under record in itself such that they are matched with the information of number whereby it is aimed to set up a call; at least one SIP server (5) which is configured to establish communication with the electronic device (2) and to realize data exchange with the communication application (3), that is run on the electronic device (2), over this communication established; to receive a registration request wherein the number of the user who is aimed to be contacted over the communication application (3); to query the number information, that is included in the registration request, in the database (4) and to decide on whether the communication application (3) supports the TURN protocol; in the event that the communication application (3) supports the TURN protocol, to inform the communication application (3); in the event that the communication application (3) does not support the TURN protocol, to generate a timelimited username and password for the TURN server (T) supported by the

number and to share it with the communication application (3) so as to ensure that a call is initiated.

A system (1) according to Claim 1; characterized by the electronic device (2) which is a device such as mobile phone, smartphone, tablet, computer, desktop computer that is configured to run at least one communication application (3) for enabling at least users to message with different users, on itself.

A system (1) according to Claim 1 or 2; characterized by the electronic device (2) which is configured to establish communication with the SIP server (5) by using any remote communication protocol included in the state of the art and to realize data exchange with the communication application (3) that is run on the electronic device (2) over this communication established.
4. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the communication application (3) which is configured to support a SIP protocol and to register to the SIP server (5) by using a TLS protocol.
5. A system (1) according to Claim 4; characterized by the communication application (3) which is configured to register by using a Digest authentication (authentication-RFC3261) flow.
6. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the database (4) which is in communication with the SIP server (5) and configured to be managed by the SIP server (5).
7. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the database (4) which is configured to keep the version information of the
communication application (3) and the TURN server (T) information supported by the versions, under record in itself.
8. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the database (4) which is configured to keep the TURN server (T) information that can be used by the calling number such that they are parsed into number-based regions, under record in itself.
9. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the database (4) which is configured to keep the backup TURN server (T) information that are positioned in geographically different locations of each region, under record in itself.
10. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the database (4) which is configured to keep the secret value used for each TURN server (T), under record in itself.

A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the SIP server (5) which is configured to receive a call request from the communication application (3) over this communication established with the electronic device (2) and to query whether the called number information is included in the call request.

A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the SIP server (5) which is configured to confirm whether the call request is received for a registration transaction, to control whether it is received from a TLS (Transport Uayer Security) link and to query the presence of the called number in the OPTIONS message.

A system (1) according to Claim 12; characterized by the SIP server (5) which is configured to decide on whether the communication application (3) requests a time-limited username TURN identity information and to reply to the communication application (3) by a 200OK message with an empty body part, in the absence of the called number within the OPTIONS message.

A system (1) according to Claim 12 or 13; characterized by the SIP server (5) which is configured to receive the OPTIONS message; to query the called number information included in the call request, in the database (4); to decide on whether it has a communication application (3) version that supports the TURN protocol; and to return by a 200OK message when it decides that the called number does not support the TURN protocol.

A system (1) according to Claim 14; characterized by the communication application (3) which is configured to decide on that the communication application (3) of the called number does not support the TURN protocol when it receives the message and to initiate the call without using the TURN server (T).

A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the SIP server (5) which is configured to query the TURN servers (T), that can be used in the database (4), with the called number information and to prioritize the TURN servers (T) when it decides on that the communication application (3) of the called number supports the TURN protocol.
17. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the SIP server (5) which is configured to generate a time-limited username and password for each TURN server (T), to ensure that the secret values recorded in the database
(4) are same as the TURN server (T), and to share them with the communication application (3).
18. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the communication application (3) which is configured to switch to communication with the TURN server (T) over the TURN protocol such that the one with the lowest priority area ranks in priority.
