Abstract

The invention relates to a metallic purlin for use preferably in roofs and facades of industrial buildings and other spaces, such as sports pavilions, or covered facilities which require beams covering large spans. Having in general a "Z" configuration, the purlin (1) is formed from the union, in a single purlin, of two parts of purlins placed in opposite orientation: a purlin having a sigma shape ( "∑") and a purlin having a C shape (" [ "). The front flange (1-a), provided with a front lip (1-c), is slightly larger than the back flange (1-b), provided with a back lip (1-d), which allows the flange of one purlin to nest tightly in the flange of the other. The purlin (1) is provided with longitudinally distributed holes (2), in which the screws (3) are tightened. The present purlin (1) can be coupled to another identical one, in opposition, giving rise to a tubular configuration and allowing the rotation thereof and successive couplings.

Description

MADRE ESTRUTURAL MODULARMODULAR STRUCTURAL MOTHER
This is a metallic purlin intended to be preferably used on the roofs and facades of industrial buildings and other spaces, such as sports halls, or covered infrastructures that require a framework that spans large spans.
There is a large number of structural purlins on the market with variable configuration, ranging from the most basic “[“, through the common omega shape (“Ω”) more or less open, to more complex shapes such as the Greek letter sigma.
As part of the technique and as closer to the invention, let us consider the applicant's metal purse, contained in the document corresponding to Utility Model 10888 (D1).
It also has longitudinal holes (in this case, on the back, sides and flaps). Built with the aim of overcoming large spans, it allows overlapping through the coupling of two equal purlins and also allows obtaining a column by placing, in opposition, two equal purlins (which provide the desired tubular configuration). .
The invention is, however, endowed with an unobvious advance in relation to D1 and all other existing structural purlins: these, unlike the purlin of the invention, do not allow overlap according to the so-called weak axis (horizontal axis).
Thus, two purlins (equal to the purlin object of the invention, which will be claimed) placed in opposition, can rotate successively with each other and the hermetic coupling between the two is successively obtained.
The need to overcome large spans in different structures led manufacturers of structural metal purlins to develop purlins capable of overcoming this challenge.
Solução do ProblemaSolution of the problem
The solution presented was to create light, resistant metallic purlins, equipped with longitudinal holes and capable of being overlapped.
The invention, which will be claimed, is part of a set of pieces in metal or other material of equivalent rigidity, with the possibility of overlapping by successive coupling, which confers resistance to lateral instability in specific areas, through the tubular shape, and the immobilization and rigidity is ensured by the drilling points that, existing along the segment, allow a variable juxtaposition and, consequently, the creation of spans of variable dimensions. In this way, only the pillars and support beams will constitute rigid elements of the structure. They make it possible that, despite being screwed indirectly to the pillars through tabs and tie rods, they can overlap or cross each other due to drilling.
In the proposed product, the section of the pieces is constant, only the overlapping varies, producing a tubular shape, which does not make the size of the structures depend on the size of the area to be covered. Thus, while conventional solutions always assume the same lateral resistance, this solution allows greater lateral stability where necessary and the modules can be superimposed on each other.
Efeitos Vantajosos da InvençãoAdvantageous Effects of the Invention
Speed of execution, flexibility of solutions, quick assembly and reduction of material and labor costs are significant advantages of the invention.
The purlin object of the invention makes it possible to overcome large spans as a result of its configuration – which allows the overlapping of two similar purlins – and the fact that it has a hole placed longitudinally along its entire length.
By placing two equal purlins in opposition, a tubular configuration is obtained, particularly important in structures that require particularly high structural resistance, as is the case with purlins of long length, subject to phenomena of lateral instability of the pillars, and facades of industrial installations, or others.
The particular configuration of the modular structural purlin object of the invention (approximately in a "Z") came from the fusion, in a single purlin, of two completely different purlin segments that are currently widely available on the market: the sigma purlin and the mother in C ("["). By cutting a segment of a mother in sigma and another segment of a mother in “[“, and joining the two in opposition, the creator obtained the mother object of the invention.
The absolutely different configuration of the purlin thus obtained allowed for solutions not achieved by purlins already on the market, beyond the possibility of overlapping and placing them in opposition when obtaining pillars.
By coupling two purlins like the one in the object of the invention, a tubular purlin is obtained, which allows for an increase in rigidity when it comes to overcoming high spans.

Cutting a segment (more than half, encompassing the back) of a purlin in sigma and another segment (less than half) of a purlin in “[“ and joining them with the ends (the wings) in opposite orientation results, in the essential, the mother object of invention.
The flaps form, indicatively, a 90º angle in relation to the purlin axis.
The purlin thus obtained presents the two flaps in opposite orientation ( [Fig. 1] ), which results in a non-obvious configuration and seems to conflict with its form-function.
O passo seguinte é determinar a dimensão absolutamente exata das duas abas, a aba anterior (1-a) e a aba posterior (1-b). The next step is to determine the absolutely exact dimension of the two flaps, the anterior flap (1-a) and the posterior flap (1-b). If both flaps had the same dimension, it would be completely impossible to fit them in inverted overlap.
Thus, the anterior flap (1-a) is slightly larger than the posterior flap (1-b), as is especially visible in [Fig. 3]. It is this difference that allows the posterior flange (1-b) of a smaller purlin to hermetically fit the anterior flange (1-a), larger, of another purlin, when two purlins are placed in superposition with opposite orientation.
Based on the above, the difference in dimension between the anterior flap (1-a) and the posterior flap (1-b) should be, indicatively, twice the thickness of a purlin.
Colocadas em sobreposição invertida, as duas madres permitem a obtenção da sobreposição e da configuração tubular ([Fig. 2] e [Fig. 3]).Placed in inverted overlap, the two purlins allow obtaining the overlap and the tubular configuration ([Fig. 2] and [Fig. 3]).
A furação (2) existente ao longo de toda a zona central (dorso e flancos) da madre permite a sua eficaz fixação em sobreposição através da colocação de parafusos (3).The existing hole (2) along the entire central area (back and flanks) of the purlin allows its effective overlapping fixation through the placement of screws (3).
As evidenced by [Fig. 1] to [Fig. 3], the front edge (1-a) is provided with an anterior edge (1-c) larger than the rear edge (1-d) belonging to the rear edge (1-b). This circumstance has to do with constructive – and not structural – issues related to the greater ease of superimposing two purlins, one on top of the other.
The edge of each of the flaps forms, with those, an indicative angle of 90º.
It results from [Fig. 3] that one purlin can be rotated on top of the other and continuously obtain the initial effect, given that the anterior flange (1-a) of one will engage the posterior flange (1-b) of the other. The horizontal displacement, accompanied by rotation (a phenomenon known as lateral instability or sagging) is reduced due to the purlin configuration.
The invention therefore results in an increase in functionality in obtaining this type of constructive structural elements, making the coupling of two or more purlins simpler and more efficient.
