Description

CENTRAL TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM
Technical Field
The invention relates to the central tire inflation system used in heavy-duty vehicles .
The invention, speci fically, relates to the central tire inflation system that is not af fected by the external environment by making air transmission to the tires of heavy-duty vehicles invisibly through the axle and can be used functionally in cases where there are both single and dual tires on the rear axles .
Prior Art
A central tire inflation system ( CTIS- Central Tire Inflation System) is a system that controls the air pressure in each tire of a vehicle as a way to improve performance on di f ferent surfaces . The central tire inflation system basically creates a larger contact patch between the tire and the ground and makes driving on softer ground much easier . It also causes less damage to the tire surface . This gives the driver direct control over the air pressure in each tire , greatly improving maneuverability . Another function of the central tire inflation system is to maintain tire pressure i f there is a slow leak or puncture . In this case , the system automatically controls the inflation according to the selected pressure set by the driver . In addition, the central tire inflation system signi ficantly reduces vibration and shock load, prolonging the li fe of the tires and drivetrain .
In the central tire inflation systems used in the present art , the air transmitted to the axles i s traditionally transmitted to the tires through external channels . Due to the fact that the air channels are transmitted externally, the possibility of the central tire inflation system being damaged by being af fected from the external environment increases . However, in existing central tire inflation systems , it is not possible to of fer a solution i f dual tires are used on the axles . For this reason, there is a need for a central tire inflation system that can be used in cases where there are both single and dual tires on the axles and is not af fected by the external environment in the state of the art .
Consequently, the existence of the above problems and the inadequacy of the existing solutions made it necessary to make an improvement in the relevant technical field .
The Purpose of the Invention
The present invention relates to a central tire inf lation system that eliminates the disadvantages mentioned above and brings new advantages to the related technical field .
The main purpose of the invention is to provide a long-lasting central tire inflation system that is not af fected from the external environment by transmitting air to the tires of heavy- duty vehicles invisibly through the axle .
The purpose of the invention is to present a central tire inflation system that can be used functionally in cases where there are both single and dual tires on the rear axles of the vehicle .
In order to ful fi ll all the purposes stated above and those that may arise from the detailed explanation, the invention relates to a central tire inflation system that is used on rear axles with single or dual tires in heavy-duty vehicles and comprises air inlet line that provides compressed air to the tires , wherein the system comprises : fixed ring, that is coupled on the rear axle of the vehicle , and provides the transmission of compressed air to the rotating system,
- hub ring, that is attached to the fixed ring by being coupled on the hub, and trans fers the air entering from the fixed ring to the hub side ,
- air seal , that is located in the hub ring, and prevents air leakage during air passage between the rear axle and the hub,
- Air inlet nipple , that is connected to the hub ring from one end by being coupled on the tire rim, and provides the transmission of compressed air, which enters from the fixed ring and passes to the hub ring, to the tire side .
The structural and characteristic features of the invention and all its advantages will be understood more clearly from the figures given below and the detailed description written with reference to these figures . For this reason, the evaluation should be made by taking these figures and detailed explanation into consideration .

Detailed Description of the Invention
In this detailed description, the preferred alternatives of the central tire inflation system, which is the subject of the invention, are explained only for a better understanding of the subject and without any limiting effect.
Figure 1 shows the disassembled view of the central tire inflation system, which is the subject of the invention. Accordingly, the central tire inflation system, in its most basic form, includes: air inlet line (10) , which provides compressed air to the tires, fixed ring (20) , coupled on to the rear axle (A) of the vehicle and provides the transmission of compressed air to the rotating system, the hub ring (30) , coupled on the hub (P) and ensures the transfer of air to the hub (P) side, air seal (40) , which prevents air leakage during the air passage between the rear axle (A) and the hub (P) , air inlet nipple (50) , that transmits compressed air coming from the rear axle (A) and passing to the hub (P) to the tire side.
In the central tire inflation system, compressed air transmission to the tires is provided through the air inlet line (10) . A fixed ring (20) is coupled on the rear axle (A) as seen in figure 2, in order to transmit the compressed air from the fixed side rear axle (A) to the moving side tire hub (P) . Said fixed ring (20) provides the transmission of compressed air to the rotating system. A hub ring (30) attached to the fixed ring (20) is also coupled on the hub (A) . Said hub ring (30) provides the transfer of air to the hub (P) side. At least one air seal (40) is placed inside the hub ring (30) and air leakage is prevented during the air passage by providing a sealing between the rear axle (A) and the hub (P) by means of the air seal (40) .
An air inlet nipple (50) is fixed on the tire rim for the transmission of compressed air to the tire side, compressed air entering the rear axle (A) through the fixed ring (20) and passing to the wheel hub (P) through the hub ring (30) . Said air inlet nipple (50) is connected to the hub ring (P) at one end.
The working principle of the central tire inflation system, which is the subject of the invention, is as follows ;
In rotating systems, compressed air coming from the air passage line (10) to provide air transmission from the rear axle (A) to the hub (P) side, enters the fixed ring (20) , and performs its duty by being transmitted to the air passage nipple (50) between the air seals (40) connected to the hub ring (30) .
