Abstract

The present technology, pertaining to the technical field of coating and leveling masses applied in various environments, constitutes a new composition for producing high-viscosity coating pastes. The invention comprises five types of mineral fillers and two types of polymer resins mixed in the most diverse proportions, ensuring high resistance to fluidity even in pressurised systems. The five mineral fillers used (dolomite; chalk plaster, precipitated calcium carbonate; micronized aluminium hydrosilicate, calcium carbonate and natural magnesium) combined with polymeric resins (PVAs) achieve the viscosity and density required for uses in closed and/or pressurised environments.

Description

COMPOSIÇÃO APLICADA A PASTA DE RECOBRIMENTO COMPOSITION APPLIED TO COATING PASTE
[001] This patent relates to a new composition for manufacturing pastes for high viscosity coating. Inserted in the technical field of coating and leveling putties applied in different environments, the invention comprises five types of mineral fillers and two types of polymeric resins, mixed in the most diverse proportions, guaranteeing high resistance to fluidity even in pressurized systems.
Descrição do estado da técnica: Description of the state of the art:
[002] Mineral filler corresponds to minerals, or rocks, that are found in nature, such as limestone (calcite, dolomite), phyllite, mica (muscovite, phlogopite, biotite), silica (quartz, zeolite), talc, pyrophyllite (agalmatolite), gypsum, barite, among others. Each type of mineral filler has different properties and these are influenced, in turn, by particle size, shape, hardness, chemical composition, crystalline structure, etc.
[003] In composites with polymers, mineral fillers are used due to several reasons: cost reduction, improving processing, density control, optical effects, thermal expansion control, flame retardancy, modifications with regard to the properties of thermal conductivity, electrical resistance and magnetic susceptibility, in addition to improving mechanical properties.
These correspond to limestone rocks ground below 325 pm. These rocks may consist only of the mineral calcite (CaCOs) or a mixture of calcite and dolomite (CaCOs. MgCOs). Other minerals, such as quartz, may appear associated in small amounts. Carbonates help improve the impact strength of composites. [005] As a common practice, the addition of fillers in polymer matrices constitutes a direct mixture or blend, and there are different types of operations for its formulation, which can be used, for example:
• Durante a fase de polimerização do polímero; • During the polymerization phase of the polymer;
• Em solução tanto aquosa quanto na presença de solvente; • In aqueous solution or in the presence of solvent;
• When the polymer is at room temperature, above Tg (glass transition temperature) or Tm (crystalline melting temperature).
[006] During the mixing process between the mineral filler and the polymer, due to the adhesion force between the mineral particles and the interfacial tension between particle and polymer, the mineral filler particles tend to form aggregates. The control of its dispersion and the viscosity of the paste become very important to maintain or reach the desired properties.
[007] The difficulty of processing, controlling and parameterizing composites with high amounts of mineral fillers lead companies to use compositions with lower amounts of this product. Which leads, in general, to a formulation with lower density and viscosity. However, some applications, especially in pressurized systems, require these properties to be improved. The use of folders found, in the state of the art, cannot suppress this demand. The patents described below reverberate with the above.
[008] PI 1003700-4 discloses a new composition, which serves to prepare a pasty mass that will be applied on a wooden substrate by extrusion pressure and molded by a matrix, where after drying it becomes a rigid structure, taking the desired shape when which was subjected to modeling. The product is sent ready for use and the drying time must be respected according to the layer applied, expressed in the product's technical bulletin, after which it gradually hardens, becoming solid after drying, ready for sanding and painting, if necessary.
