  • the present disclosure relates to a system and method for conducting online commercial transaction and more particularly relates to a system and method for enabling bidding and completing a transaction.
  • BACKGROUND [002] Consumer shopping behaviours are continuously evolving over the last few decades. With the advancement in communication and technology, consumers often prefer online modes, through online marketplaces, for purchasing goods and services rather than visiting physical stores, due to various constraints such as time, purchase options, modes of payment, convenience, etc.
  • an online marketplace aggregates multiple sellers who offer multiple products/services for sale, enables the end-users (consumers) to make purchases of their desired products/services, and the transaction between the sellers and the consumers are processed through the marketplace operators. Upon successful transaction, the products/services are delivered/fulfilled by the participating sellers or by the third parties.
  • Such marketplaces provide various advantages for both the consumers and the sellers. For example, a consumer may purchase a product/service from anywhere in the world, the consumer may browse through various products/services from multiple sellers for comparing the prices, offers, fulfilment time, etc, and the consumer gets the product/service delivered/fulfilled by the sellers or any third parties associated with the marketplace.
  • the marketplace offers additional channel to sell their products/services, offers marketing with reduced cost compared to other sales channels, enables the sellers to reach consumers overseas, and hence less expensive to operate a business in a marketplace compared to running one independently.
  • the sellers are limited to post their prices and offers onetime, and such posts are visible to all the consumers of the marketplace.
  • the sellers Merchants may not be able to identify/find the immediate consumers and not able to provide them live/instant deals/discounts/offers.
