L'invention concerne un dispositif d'amortissement (10) qui comprend un corps de boîtier (18) pouvant être fixé à l'une d'une partie fixe (11) ou d'une partie mobile (12) d'un élément de meuble, un moyen d'amortissement hydraulique (23) disposés dans ledit corps de boîtier (18), et un élément d'entraînement (19) fonctionnellement relié audit moyen d'amortissement (23) ; l'élément d'entraînement (19) est supporté de manière oscillante par ledit corps de boîtier (18) et comporte une partie de mise en contact (21) conformée et agencée de manière à venir en contact avec l'autre de ladite partie fixe (11) ou partie mobile (12) de la pièce de meuble au moins au niveau d'une partie d'un mouvement de fermeture ou d'ouverture de la partie de meuble mobile (12), l'élément d'entraînement (19) comportant en outre une partie d'actionnement (22) conformée et agencée pour actionner ledit moyen d'amortissement hydraulique (23).
