Description

ON-VEHICLE LUGGAGE
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to an on-vehicle luggage that provides effective and efficient use for the users in the automotive sector has ergonomic design and multiple use.
The invention particularly relates to an on-vehicle luggage whose security is increased with its 3- point locking mechanism, assembly is enabled by manual tightening on vehicle without requiring extra material, labor and tools, which can be easily transported by means of its integrated wheel and pull arm, eliminates the need to climb on the vehicle by means of its side covers that can be used during loading and unloading.
State of the Art
Vehicle/roof top luggage or roof luggage is mounted on the vehicle later so as to transport the objects such as materials and belongings that do not fit into the vehicle. On-vehicle luggage used today is mostly made of aluminum, bicycles, surfboards and ski boards as well as small boats can be fixed to the on-vehicle luggage by means of appropriate tools. As the days go on, people prefer to transport such materials and belongings in their roof luggage due to the dirt and dust created at the rear section of the vehicle.
The on-vehicle luggage used today is insufficient in terms of security gap and usage. In present applications, there is only one locking point and at least two individuals are needed for on-vehicle assembly. Moreover, there are types that require 2 or 3 individuals to carry the luggage to the vehicle. On the other hand, the person must climb on the vehicle or reach from a high point to the same so as to load materials inside. Particularly, during loading and unloading heavy materials, this situation causes a great disadvantage for the user.
Many studies have been carried out and new configurations have been developed so as to eliminate the existing problems of on-vehicle luggage. One of these studies is the invention subject to the patent numbered CN20041099114. The present invention relates to a safety connection device which is mounted to the rood and is for luggage to carry materials. It consists of support frame bar that connects the seat and cabin door frame connection block. Although said invention is successful in increasing the safety of the on-vehicle luggage, it cannot be able to provide a solution for providing convenience to the person during loading and unloading, making luggage assembly practical and transporting luggage without extra human labor when it is not used.
Another study is the invention subject to patent number SI20030000268. The invention is a crank carrier of a vehicle roof box that provides transporting a load in a cabin roof box securely. It allows the driver to slide the cabin roof box to a lower position and return it back to the transport position and in this manner it facilitates to access the load. Although the invention facilitates to access the luggage, it was not effective in solving other existing problems.
As a result, the requirement for an on vehicle luggage which eliminates the abovementioned problems and the insufficiency of the current solutions makes it necessary to make a development in the relevant technical field.
Brief Description of the Invention
The present invention is related to an on-vehicle luggage that provides effective and efficient use for the users in the automotive sector, has ergonomic design and efficient use, which fulfills the abovementioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages and brings some additional advantages.
The aim of the invention based on the state of the art is to eliminate the security gaps that may arise during forcing by means of the mechanism that enables locking from 3 points namely front cover, side cover and rear cover of the developed on-vehicle luggage.
The aim of the invention is to allow the user to make the assembly of the on-vehicle luggage alone and easily by manual tightening without requiring wrench, tools, materials and extra manpower.
Another aim of the invention is to allow the user to easily transport the on-vehicle luggage to a desired location such as car park, warehouse, garage etc. easily without requiring extra manpower by means of the wheel and pulling arm attached thereto when not in use.
Another aim of the invention is to facilitate loading and unloading of the materials without climbing onto the vehicle or to a high place, by means of using side covers of the on-vehicle luggage for loading and unloading.
The structural and characteristic features of the present invention will be understood clearly by the following drawings and the detailed description made with reference to these drawings and therefore the evaluation shall be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.

Detailed Description of the Invention
In this detailed description, the inventive an on vehicle luggage (100) that provides effective and efficient use for the users in the automotive sector, has ergonomic design and multiple use is described only for clarifying the subject matter in a manner such that no limiting effect is created.
The on-vehicle luggage (100) shown in Figure 1 can be hidden by means of folding the same when not in use. On one hand said on-vehicle luggage (100) has a volume of 360 liters in open condition, on the other hand its volume decreases to 240 liters when it is folded. When said on- vehicle luggage (100) is to be used, first a pulling arm (110) is opened so as to bring the same near the car easily and can be moved easily by means of a transport wheel (111) by bringing it to the vertical position of 45 degrees. Many transportation operations can be carried out easily by means of said transportation wheel (111), although there are belongings therein, it can be used ergonomically.
Said on-vehicle luggage (100) mainly comprises the following; a lower body part (108) on which a front cover (101) and an upper cover (107) are placed, a rear cover (104), a right inner opening cover (102), a left inner opening cover (105) are folded, where the right inner opening cover (102) and the left inner opening cover (105), which carry the whole load, are positioned with the mounting feet and the pulling arm (110) and the wheels (111), is located on the part where the on- vehicle luggage (100) is connected to the vehicle roof; the pulling arm (110) which provides ergonomic use during transportation of the luggage on the vehicle (100) by opening 45 degrees in an upright position, is connected to the lower body part (108); transport wheels (111) that are connected to the rear part of the lower body part (108) so as to carry the on-board luggage (100) to the desired location when the pulling arm (110) is opened; locking mechanism (112) that is centered from one point, can be locked from 3 points, locks the front cover (101), upper cover (107), rear cover (104), right inner opening cover (102) and left inner opening cover (105) by controlling from a single point by converting the vertical lock movement to the horizontal direction. Said front cover (101) provides the overturn of the force in the lateral direction by distributing the wind resistance by means of its aerodynamic design. There is a first folding section (1011) wherein the front cover (101) is folded so as to reduce the volume while said on-vehicle luggage (100) is not in use. Said right inner opening cover (102) and the left inner opening cover (105) positioned opposite the same facilitate the loading process by its ergonomic design while loading the belongings to the vehicle. The right opening cover framework (103) wherein said right inner opening cover (102) centers the locking mechanism (112) is laid inwardly during the folding step of the on-vehicle luggage (100). The left opening cover framework (106) wherein said left inner opening cover (105) centers the locking mechanism (112) is laid inwardly during the folding step of the on-vehicle luggage (100). The upper cover (107) positioned on the upper section of said on- vehicle luggage (100) provides strength against external factors and it can be locked with a lock that is separate from the locking mechanism (112). There is a second folding section (1071) wherein the upper cover (107) is folded so as to reduce the volume while said on-vehicle luggage (100) is not in use. The rear cover (104), on which the mechanism to which said upper cover (107) is locked, is mounted, is laid on the lower body part (108) so as to fold the on-vehicle luggage (100). A first folding section (1081) is positioned on the lower body (108) that provides the same to be folded into 2 parts so as to reduce the volume of said on-vehicle luggage (100) when not in use. In order to mount said on-vehicle luggage (100) on the bars of the vehicle, the vehicle connecting piece (109) that is positioned on the bottom section is assembled manually and is centered from 4 points without requiring any additional wrench and similar tools.
Said locking mechanisms (112) shown in Figure 2 are 3 in total, which is at least 1 on each front cover (101), upper cover (107), rear cover (104), right inner opening cover (102) and left inner opening cover (105) and it can perform locking in 2 horizontal directions and 1 vertical direction. Said locking mechanism (112) comprises a pulling wire (1122) that extends in the horizontal axis in the inner section of the cover and enables the same to operate in the lateral direction. A pulling wire centering piece (1121) that is connected to the pulling wire (1122) and is used to center the pulling wire (1122) provides to lock the locking mechanism (112) from an appropriate point. A pulling wire assembly part (1123) is positioned at the connection point of the locking mechanism (112) on each cover shown in Figure 3. An axial locking part (1124) is positioned on the pulling wire assembly part (1123) so as to carry out locking process from other points when said locking mechanism (112) is locked from a single point. A locking part (1125) is positioned in the middle section so as to open the cover where there is locking mechanism (112). There is a locking mechanism movement part (1126) as the starting point of the locking piece between said locking piece (1125) and the axial locking piece (1124).
When it will be mounted on the vehicle, the on-vehicle luggage (100) is raised and positioned on the bars of the vehicle. After the on-vehicle luggage (100) is positioned on the bars, then the vehicle connecting piece (109) is mounted manually and tightened from 4 different points. The assembly process is facilitated to be carried out by the user within a short period of time without requiring any auxiliary tools or machinery. During usage, the left inner opening cover (105) and the right inner opening cover (102) are unlocked with the key at the opening point and after the arm is lifted, regarding the rear cover (104), left inner opening cover (105) and right inner opening cover (102) centered from 3 points, the single centered lock from 3 points is unlocked when arms are opened separately. Therefore, locking is provided from 10 different points in total. The locking process is realized at the center point by means of the pulling wire centering part (1121) as a result of triggering the locking mechanism (112) with the movement of the locking mechanism movement part (1126) and moving the pulling wire assembly part (1123) to which the pulling wire (1122) is connected by changing the movement direction of axial locking part (1124).
When the inventive on-vehicle luggage (100) is required to be disassembled, the vehicle connecting piece (109) is loosened and it is manually unloaded from the vehicle. The on-vehicle luggage (100) can be stored by being folded or unfolded in the storage or shelf. When the on- vehicle luggage (100) is required to be folded, first the upper cover (107) is removed, the front cover (101) is folded by unlocking, then the rear cover (104) is folded inwardly on the lower body part (108). After the rear cover (104) is laid down, the right opening cover framework (103) is laid inwardly, the left opening cover framework (106) is folded inwardly and the front cover (101) and the upper cover (107) are placed on the lower body part (108). Lastly, the folded on-vehicle luggage (100) shown in figure-4 is connected with the connecting piece (113) and the process is completed.
The inventive on-vehicle luggage (100) is preferably made of ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) material.

Claims

1. An on-vehicle luggage (100) that provides effective and efficient use for the users in the automotive sector, has ergonomic design and multiple use, characterized by comprising; the following; a locking mechanism (112) that is centered from one point, can be locked from 3 points by converting the vertical lock movement to the horizontal direction, locks a front cover (101), an upper cover (107), a rear cover (104), a right inner opening cover (102) and a left inner opening cover (105) from 10 different points; a pulling wire (1122) that extends in the horizontal axis in the inner section of the cover where there is the locking mechanism (112) to operate in the lateral direction;
- an axial locking part (1124) that is connected with a pulling wire assembly part (1123) so as to carry out locking process from other points when the locking mechanism (112) is locked from a single point;
- a locking part (1125) that is positioned in the middle section so as to open the door with the locking mechanism (112).
2. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a pulling wire centering piece (1121) that is connected to the pulling wire (1122) that is used to center the pulling wire (1122) so as to lock the locking mechanism (112) from an appropriate point.
3. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; the pulling wire assembly part (1123) positioned at the connection point of the locking mechanism (112) on each cover.
4. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a locking mechanism movement part (1126) as the starting point of the locking piece, is positioned between the locking piece (1125) and the axial locking piece (1124).

An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a lower body part (108) on which the front cover (101) and the upper cover (107) are placed, the rear cover (104), the right inner opening cover (102), the left inner opening cover (105) are folded, where the right inner opening cover (102) and the left inner opening cover (105), which carry the whole load, are positioned with the mounting feet and the pulling arm (110) and the wheels (111), is located on the part where the on-vehicle luggage (100) is connected to the vehicle roof.
6. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 5, characterized by comprising; a first folding section (1081) that is positioned on the lower body (108) to be folded into 2 parts so as to reduce its volume when not in use.
7. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a pulling arm (110) that is opened 45 degrees in an upright position for ergonomic use during transportation of the on-vehicle luggage (100), is engaged with the lower body part (108).
8. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; transportation wheels (111) that is connected to the rear section of the lower body part (108) so as to carry the on-vehicle luggage (100) to the desired area when the pulling arm (110) is opened.
9. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; the rear cover (104) that is folded onto the lower body part (108).
10. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; the left opening cover (105) that is folded on the lower body part (108) inwardly after the rear cover (104) is folded.
11 . An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized in that; it comprises a left opening cover framework (106) in which the left inner opening cover (105) centers the locking mechanism (112).
12. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a right inner opening cover (102) that is folded on the lower body part (108) after the left opening cover (105) is folded.
13. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a right opening cover framework (103) in which the right inner opening cover (102) centers the locking mechanism (112).
14. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; the front cover (101) that is closed on the lower body part (108) in the opposite position after the right inner opening cover (102) is folded.
15. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 14, characterized by comprising; a first folding section (1011) to which the front cover (101) is folded so as to reduce the volume while it is not in use.
16. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; the upper cover (107) that is closed on the lower body part (108) in the opposite position after the right inner opening cover (102) is folded and is locked with a lock separate from the locking mechanism (112).
17. An on-vehicle luggage (100) according to claim 16, characterized by comprising; a second folding section (1071) to which the upper cover (107) is folded so as to reduce the volume while it is not in use.
