Description

TITLE OF THE INVENTION: -
MANUFACTURING OF NANOSCALE COMPOSITE FOR PLANT
NUTRITION
Field of the invention
The present invention related to nutrient composition comprising an effective nitrogen and/ phosphate as principal ingredients in nanoscale dimension with or without other macro and micro nutrient required by plants for their growth and development.
Description of the related art
All the agricultural crops require balance nutrition consisted of elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, iron, manganese, boron, molybdenum, copper, zinc, chlorine, cobalt, but not limited too. Among others, Nitrogen and Phosphorous are the major nutrient. Typically, a combination of two nutrients mainly nitrogen and phosphate as Diammonium phosphate (or DAP) or combination of three nutrients, nitrogen, phosphate and potassium (NPK) is applied to soil.
Currently used phosphorous and nitrogen fertilizer in combination or alone having low use efficiency thus leaching/releasing to the environment. So, they require to apply in very high dosages, can be extended to 50 Kg/Hectare. Further, the process of nutrients such as phosphate depends on the limited geological natural reserves of rock phosphates. Therefore, it is essential to develop the method of effective composite of nitrogen and phosphate as principal ingredients, having high use efficiency and require substantially less than conventional counterpart. Nanotechnology offers opportunity where particles with nanoscale dimension (1-100 nm at least at one dimension) having high surface area to volume size ratio compare to their bulk counterpart. Nanoparticle composite of nitrogen and phosphate with or without other macro and micro nutrient required by plants for their growth and development address the concern of use efficiency and dosage per acre.
Summary of Invention
The present invention relates to novel nanoscale composition of at least two principal ingredients, nitrogen and phosphorus with or without other macro and micro nutrient required by plants for their growth and development address the concern of use efficiency and dosage per acre. According to an embodiment, the nitrogen is in the range of about 1% to about 47% (w/w or w/v or v/v), phosphate is in the range of about 5% to about 70% (w/w or w/v or v/v).
According to an embodiment, the composite nanoscale particles can be dispersed in water, in soil or other similar inorganic/organic media to develop liquid and/or solid formulation, pellet, powder, granule, film, and/or coating on seed surface with or without any dispersing agents.
According to an embodiment, the invention also relates to a method of treating the seed and the plants by applying the composite on seed surface as coating, basal application for root exposure and foliar application for leaf exposure.
Detailed Description of the invention
The detailed embodiments of the present invention are disclosed herein, however, it is to be understood that the disclosed embodiments are merely exemplary of the invention, which can be embodied in various form. Therefore, specific structural and functional details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but merely as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in art to variously employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed structure. Further, the terms and phrases used herein are not intended to be limiting but rather to provide an understandable disclosure of the invention.
According to an embodiment the total nitrogen and total phosphorous concentration will not exceed 47% and 70% (both w/w or w/v or v/v), respectively.
According to an embodiment, the final formulation composed of at least two principal ingredients, nitrogen and phosphorus with or without other macro
B and micro nutrient required by plants for their growth and development. Further, the macro and micro nutrient can be potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, iron, manganese, boron, molybdenum, copper, zinc, chlorine, cobalt, but not limited too. According to an embodiment the total concentration of one or all macro and micro nutrient will not exceed 20% (both w/w or w/v or v/v), respectively. However, those skilled in the art will appreciate that it is possible to utilize other elements and composition and sizes known in the art without departing from the scope of the claims of the present invention. Example 1
A slurry is obtained by mixing sulfuric acid and rock phosphate and/or phosphoric acid as phosphorous (P) source with ammonia and/or urea solution as nitrogen (N) source. The ratio was suitably adjusted for obtaining the nitrogen in the range of about 1% to about 47% (w/w or w/v or v/v), and phosphate is in the range of about 5% to about 70% (w/w or w/v or v/v). The mixing of two sources P and N were carried out at temperature ranging between 20 deg C to 150 deg C. The mixing of two sources P and N were carried out at solution RPM (rotation per minute) ranging between 15 rpm to 300 rpm. The mixing of two sources P and N were carried out in equal or sequential manner. After mixing the solution was allowed to stirrer continuously, wherein solution become semi-solid gel state. The semi-solid gel state slurry can be washed by filtration and/or by centrifugation with solvents such as water, ethanol, acetone etc, but not limited too. Further, the washed materials can be mixed in suitable solvents such as water, ethanol, acetone etc, but not limited too, or the washed material can be dried in hot air at temperature from 30 deg C to 150 deg C to obtain the final product can be converted into liquid formulation and/or solid formulation, or pellet, film, tablet or granule. The final washed product (hereafter called composite or nano composite) consisted of at least two elements N and P, but not limited too. The final composite having particle size range of about 5 nanometers (nm) to 200 microns in its liquid and/or solid formulation atleast at one dimension. Further, the dried particles in form of pellet, tablet or granule are in the range of about 0.01 micron to 4 mm. Moreover, the dried particles in form of film on both the biological and/or non-biological surfaces, may having thickness which is in the range of about 5 nm to 5 microns.
Example 2
A slurry is obtained by mixing rock phosphate and/or phosphoric acid as phosphorous (P) source with ammonia and/or urea or composite powder/solid source of N and P. The ratio was suitably adjusted for obtaining the nitrogen in the range of about 1% to about 47% (w/w or w/v or v/v), and phosphate is in the range of about 5% to about 70% (w/w or w/v or v/v). The mixing of the P and N sources were carried out at temperature ranging between 20 deg C to 150 deg C. The mixing of the sources was carried out by wet or powder grinding in a suitable respective equipment. After grinding, the slurry can be washed by filtration and/or by centrifugation with solvents such as water, ethanol, acetone etc, but not limited too.
