Description

ADVERTISING DEVICE FORMED AS A PIECE OF FURNITURE
Technical field
The invention relates to an advertising device formed as a piece of furniture, primarily as a furnishing article functioning as a table.
Background art
Pieces of furniture, such as tables utilized at pubs, restaurants and other social venues are made in remarkably diverse configurations as far as their structure and shape are concerned, but, invariably, they can perform solely the function of a furnishing article.
The objective of the present invention is to provide a piece of furniture that - in addition to performing its traditional function = is, due to its preferable structural configuration, suited for presenting various objects in its interior, thereby functioning as an advertising device that presents the object disposed therein in a unique, attention-grabbing, astonishing manner.
The present invention is based on the recognition that the floating effect applicable for advertising purposes that is disclosed in the document EP 1759373 can also be applied at other locations, for giving a more appealing atmosphere to the given event.
The disadvantage of the technical solution according to the document EP1759373 is that visual access to the chamber encompassing the object to be presented is provided only from one direction, so the side and rear portions of the object cannot be seen.
The patent description in the document EP 2560525 also discloses a similar technical solution, wherein the object to be presented is disposed in a chamber bounded by transparent plates except at the bottom and the top, with the carrier members comprising a frame attached to an opening formed in the transparent plate, and with the object to be presented having a symmetrical configuration.
The disadvantage of this technical solution is that for replacing the object disposed in the chamber the entire structure and also the frame have to be disassembled. Another disadvantage of this solution is that it is suited only for presenting a symmetrical-shaped object. Disclosure of invention
The objective of the present invention is to eliminate the drawbacks of existing technical solutions, and to provide a novel advertising device formed as a piece of furniture that allows visual access from different directions = even from three different directions — , can be applied for presenting an arbitrary object and can also perform other functions, i.e., moving or rotating the object to be presented. The objective of the invention is fulfilled by providing an advertising device formed as a piece of furniture that comprises a chamber and an object placed on a transparent plate inside the chamber, the device being characterised in that the chamber is a hollow body that consists of two halves, and is bounded from below by a carrier member and from above by a circularshaped transparent plate, the carrier member further comprising a footrest structure attached thereto, the hollow body comprises opening adapted for providing visual access thereto from as many as three directions, with a core member constituted by shaped ribs held together by support members being formed inside the hollow body, wherein a spherical spatial region is formed inside the core member constituted by the shaped ribs, with two circular support members being disposed at an angle with respect to each other in the region, and wherein one of the support members comprises a rail track formed therein, with a transparent plate that is adapted for carrying the object to be presented and is disposed at the bottom portion of the support member being rotatably disposed on and secured to the rail track.
In a preferred embodiment of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture, the angle between the support structures disposed in the spherical spatial region constituted by the shaped ribs inside the hollow body is a = 90°.
In another preferred embodiment of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture, the hollow body further comprises a motor adapted for driving the rail track - preferably, a rail track having a concealed configuration - formed in the support structure disposed in the interior of the body, devices adapted for illuminating the object to be presented and the interior of the hollow body and a power source, wherein the illumination devices are LED light sources or strips, or LED panels, and wherein the power source is a mains power source or a rechargeable battery.
In a further preferred embodiment of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture the - preferably circular - openings disposed on the side of the hollow body are covered by respective transparent or semi-transparent plates disposed in a frame, with the frame carrying the plate adapted to cover the openings of the side of the hollow body being secured to the openings by a releasable joint such that it can be removed therefrom.
In an expedient embodiment of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture the diameter of the spatial region defined by the shaped ribs is preferably 60 cm.
In another preferred embodiment of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture the structure attached to the carrier member consists of ribs attached to the carrier member and a ring-shaped flange attached to the upper ends of the ribs that face away from the carrier member. In a further embodiment of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture the device comprises a control unit adapted for adjusting the internal illumination of the hollow body, with the transparent or semi-transparent plates covering the openings of the hollow body preferably being glass plates.
In all preferred embodiments of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture, LED lights / LED strips or panels are disposed around the openings of the hollow body.
In preferred embodiments of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture a plate constituting further advertising surface bearing graphics and/or pictures and/or inscription - preferably a LED panel - is disposed in the bottom support member adapted to interconnect the shaped ribs of the core member situated in the hollow body.
Brief description of drawings
A preferred embodiment of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture according to the invention is explained in detail referring to the accompanying drawings, where
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture,
Fig. 2 is the side elevation view of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture according to Fig. 1,
Fig. 3 is a sectional view of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture according to Fig. 2, not showing the carrier and footrest structures, and
Fig. 4 is a perspective inside view of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture according to Fig. 1.
Best mode of carrying out the invention
The advertising device formed as a piece of furniture according to the invention is preferably applied in pubs or restaurants, at expositions and other events, and in shops as a furnishing article, preferably a table that can perform multiple functions simultaneously and is implemented as a barrel-shaped hollow body 1 consisting of two parts, on which body there are two openings 2, 3 disposed opposite each other (see Fig. 1). The hollow body 1 is bounded at its underside by a carrier member 6 that comprises a support structure 7 that is adapted to extend circularly around the hollow body 1 and functions as a footrest (see Fig. 2). The support structure 7 consists of ribs 19 attached to the carrier member 6 and a ring-shaped flange 20 that is secured to the ribs 19 at their side facing away from the carrier member 6. The ribs 19 extend toward the flange 20 at an angle b with respect to the vertical, where b = 5-30.
The hollow body 1 is open at the top, the opening 4 thereof being covered by a transparent plate 5. In the case of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture according to the invention, the hollow body 1 substantially constitutes a chamber, with the interior of the chamber being adapted for presenting one or more objects 10.
Partial or full visual access to the interior of the hollow body 1 is provided from three directions, i.e., directions A, B, C (see Fig. 3). Visual access in direction B is provided by the transparent plate 5 covering the hollow body 1 that is a cover plate also performing the table function of the furnishing article.
The openings 2 and 3 are preferably circular openings provided on the sides of the hollow body 1 and are adapted for providing partial or full visual access in directions C and D.
The openings 2 and 3 are covered by respective preferably transparent or semitransparent plates that are removably secured in the openings 2 and 3, allowing that the plates 8 and 9 themselves can be cleaned, and also that the object 10 situated in the hollow body 1 can be removed (replaced) through the openings 2, 3, and 4.
A core member 11 constituted by shaped ribs 12 held together at both ends by support members 17 and 18 is disposed inside the hollow body 1 (see Fig. 4), where the shaped ribs 12 define a spherical spatial region 13 that preferably has a diameter of 60 cm. The object 10 is to be presented in this spatial region 13.
Support members 14 and 15, lying at an angle a to each other, are disposed in the spatial region 13 (see Fig. 3).
A rail track system (not shown here) is formed in one of the support members 14 and 15, along which track system the object 10 carried by the transparent plate disposed at the bottom of the support member can be rotated. The rail track system is preferably a roller track rail system and is disposed in the support member in a concealed manner.
The support members 14 and 15 are ring-shaped members that are adapted - in addition to providing an optical illusion - - for concealing the rail track system and the drive motor. As it was mentioned above, partial or full visual access to the interior of the hollow body 1 is provided from three directions A, B, C.
The object to be presented, for example a wine bottle, is placed on a transparent plate situated in the support member 14. As it was mentioned above, support members 14 and 15 are disposed in the spatial region 13. The object 10 to be presented is supported by the support member 14, while the support member 15 is adapted for providing an optical illusion and for concealing the rail track system and the motor. Thereby, when looking inside the hollow body 1 from any direction, the object 10 situated in the interior of the hollow body can be seen to be floating therein and, typically, to be revolving about its own axis. Because the support member 14 supporting the object 10 is adapted to be rotated along the concealed rail track, the viewer will see a floating/rotating object 10.
Due to the special configuration of the core member 11 situated in the hollow body 1, the spatial region 13 inside the hollow body 1 and the object 10 disposed therein can be illuminated from different directions.
The required illumination devices - LED light sources, LED panels and strips - can be disposed along the edges of the openings 2 and 3, or at the bottom portion of the core member 11.
It has to be noted here that a plate forming a further advertising surface bearing graphics and/or pictures and/or inscription can also be disposed inside the support member 18 interconnecting the ribs of the core member 11.
The illumination may be of constant intensity and colour, but by including a simple device the colour and intensity of the light can be intermittently or continuously modified, i.e., the light intensity of the included light sources or LED strips can be adjusted, thereby improving the aesthetic impact of the furnishing article.
The advantages of the advertising device formed as a piece of furniture according to the invention are that it can be applied for presenting an object of any configuration and, due to its configuration, it can be easily disassembled such that the object to be presented can be replaced.
