Abstract

A glasses device comprising: a frame member, wherein a front portion of the frame member is configured to be worn on a user's head; at least one lens attached to or an integrated part of the front portion of the frame member; at least one side portion of the frame member attached to or an integrated part of the front portion of the frame member and configured to be worn on or around one of the user' ears, wherein a middle section of the side portion of the frame member is a dented section; an attachment member mounted to the frame member; a lighting member attached to the at least one side portion of the frame member by the attachment member; and a mirror member rotatably attached to the at least one side portion of the frame member by the attachment member.

SAUDER SHADES
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to glasses. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pair of eyeglasses equipped with tools such as flashlights and mirrors.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A pair of eyeglasses equipped with tools such as flashlights and mirrors is in demand. People who wear glasses can benefit by attaching tools to their glasses. People may require forward attention yet at the same time benefit from rear visibility when jogging while listening to music, to help them know when vehicles are approaching from behind.
In many sports, such as when roller skating or skiing, having a rear view is critical; similarly, when riding a gyro scooter, the user must maintain balance while obtaining a rear view. At night, many people prefer to have some sort of light attached to their glasses so that they can navigate a dark road or read a map.
Companies have developed a range of glasses that allow attachment of various tools. Some glasses have an illuminating lamp located on their bridge, others illuminating lamps at both sides. However, such approaches do not include both lights and the mirrors needed to provide a rear view, and most conventional devices are cumbersome to wear. Thus, there is a need to develop glasses that solve these problems.
The present invention is intended to address problems associated with and/or otherwise improve on conventional devices through an innovative glasses device that is designed to provide a convenient and effective means of wearing glasses with a flashlight and mirror attached while incorporating other problem-solving features. SUMMARY
In accordance with the present invention, a glasses device is provided. The present invention includes a frame member, at least one lens, at least one side portion of the frame member, a lighting member, and a mirror member which may include a telescoping mechanism.
In one embodiment, the mirror member can be rotatably attached to the side portion of the frame member so that the user can adjust the angle of the mirror member.
The attachment structure and the frame member can be any structure configured to attach the lighting member and the mirror member. The attachment structure can be of any dimension and shape suitable for attaching the lighting member and the mirror member to the frame member.
The components of the present invention are configured to provide convenient means of using a mirror and lights when wearing a pair of glasses.

DETAIL DESCRIPTIONS OF THE INVENTION
All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. The present invention provides a pair of glasses equipped with tools that provide rear views and lighting to the user.
As FIG. 1 shows, the present invention provides a glasses device 100 that comprises an attachment structure 10, a frame member 20, a lighting member 30, and a mirror member 40.
The lighting member 30 and the mirror member 40 can be attached to the frame member 20 via the attachment structure 10 to form the glasses device 100 of the present invention.
The attachment structure 10 can be any structure configured to attach the lighting member 30 and the mirror member 40. The attachment structure 10 can be of any dimension and shape suitable for attaching the lighting member 30 and the mirror member 40 to the frame member 20.
The attachment structure 10 can be mounted to the frame member 20 using any suitable conventional fastening means, whether brackets and screws, adhesives, clips, or the like. In some embodiments, the attachment structure 10 may be made integral to and form a portion of the frame member 20.
The frame member 20 can be any frame known in the art that is used for eyeglasses. Like conventional glasses frames, the frame member 20 may include rims into which lenses can be fit, nose supports with pads, temples, and temple tips. A variety of accommodations may be made in the construction of the frame member 20 and the lenses that can be attached to the frame member 20. Further similar accommodations can be made in the frame member 20, so that the dimensions of the frame member 20 with the structure correspond to those of conventional eyeglasses. In some embodiments, the attachment structure 10 can be readily retrofitted to conventional eyeglasses.
In some embodiments, a front portion of the frame member 20 is configured to be worn on a user’s head and to span from one eye to the other eye across a portion of the front of the user’s face. Such embodiments may include at least one lens which is attached to or an integrated part of the front portion of the frame member 20 of the glasses device 100.
In such embodiments, the present invention may include at least one side portion of the frame member 20 attached to or an integrated part of the front portion of the frame member 20 and configured to be worn on or around one of the user's ears, wherein a middle section of the side portion of the frame member 20 is a dented section 50 to accommodate the attachment structure 10.
The lighting member 30 can be any lighting device known in the art, such as a flashlight. The lighting member 30 can be lightweight to allow attachment to the frame member 20 without the frame member’s 20 exerting uncomfortable pressure on the user’s ears.
In some embodiments, the lighting member 30 can be attached to the right or left side of the frame member 20 on the temple using the attachment structure 10 or directly to the frame member 20 without using the attachment structure 10, via any fastening mechanism known in the art, whether screws, bolts, clamps, rivets, adhesives, hook-and- loop fasteners, or any other method now known or hereafter developed.
The mirror member 40 can be any mirror known in the art. In one preferred embodiment, the mirror member 40 includes a telescoping rod that comprises a hollow cylindrical body with a plurality of nested rods, as shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3.
In some embodiments, the mirror member 40 can also be attached to the right or left side of the frame member 20 (i.e., at least one side portion of the frame member 20) on the temple, in a way that the user can see the behind things in tight and dark spaces, using the attachment structure 10 or directly to the frame member 20 without using the attachment structure 10 via any fastening mechanism known in the art, whether screws, bolts, clamps, rivets, adhesives, hook-and-loop fasteners, or any other method now known or hereafter developed.
In some embodiments, the mirror member 40 can be rotatably attached to the at least one side portion of the frame member 20 so that the user can adjust the rotating angle 60 of the mirror member 40.
The telescoping rod can include any other telescoping mechanism known in the art. In some embodiments, the lighting member 30 can be attached to the right/left side of frame member 20 on the temple using the attachment structure 10 or directly to the frame member 20 without using the attachment structure 10, via any fastening mechanism known in the art, whether screws, bolts, clamps, rivets, adhesives, hook-and-loop fasteners, or any other method now known or hereafter developed. In one aspect, the glasses device 100 of the present invention may include an eyewear retainer safety strap, as shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, to help compensate for the weight of the mirror member 40 and lighting member 30 attached to the frame member

The eyewear retainer safety strap can include tubular members attached to its ends that fit over the respective bows rearward of the horizontal, substantially straight temple portions of the frame member 20 of the glasses device 100.
In some embodiments, the eyewear retainer safety strap may comprise two separate strap parts that can be attached together by a Velcro attachment or other suitable attachment means, one of which can be attached to the downwardly curving rear end (e.g., near the temple tip) on the right side of the frame member of the glasses device and the other to the corresponding rear end of the left side of the glasses device by respective tubular members.
In yet some other embodiments, the present invention can also include one or more magnetic clips to hold any components of the present invention including the lighting member 30 and mirror member 40.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

What is claimed is:
1. A glasses device comprising: a frame member, wherein a front portion of the frame member is configured to be worn on a user’s head and to span from one eye to the other eye across a portion of the front of the user’s face; at least one lens attached to or an integrated part of the front portion of the frame member; at least one side portion of the frame member attached to or an integrated part of the front portion of the frame member and configured to be worn on or around one of the user’ ears, wherein a middle section of the side portion of the frame member is a dented section; an attachment member mounted to the frame member; a lighting member attached to the at least one side portion of the frame member by the attachment member; and a mirror member rotatably attached to the at least one side portion of the frame member by the attachment member.
2. The glasses device as claimed in 1, wherein the mirror member includes a telescoping rod that includes a hollow cylindrical body with a plurality of nested rods.
