Abstract
The resin regenerating salt bags can be used in softening systems, bleaching, filtering of water which is for dialysis machines, etc. Up to now using of powdered salts, saltlicks and salt tablets were the common ways for the processes of regenerating resin but each of them has their own problems like sudden solubility in the solution and not reaching to the proper concentration of the solution, increasing the impurities of the solution, non-uniformity of the solution concentration at the top and at the bottom of the solution in the container, etc. For solving the issues of the resin regenerating procedures and ion exchange the idea of salt bag was raised. Salt bags are composed of a layer of semi-permeable membrane, a layer of foam and a particular amount of granular salt. Regenerating bags not only filters the possible impurities of salt (because of using granules with high density and existence of a semi-permeable membrane) but also they can cause diffusion (The spontaneous movement of particles from a region with high concentration to another region with lower concentration) and as a result the concentration of solution would be stable in a particular level. The existence of foam in the bags causes a natural circulation in the saline water and by this the bags bring the uniformity of the concentration in different parts of the solution.
