Abstract
본 발명에 따른 유기 전계 발광 소자는 제1 전극, 제2 전극 및 상기 제1 전극 및 상기 제2 전극 사이에 형성되는 유기물층을 포함하는 유기 전계 발광 소자로서, 상기 유기물층은 유기 전계 발광 재료 및 용매를 함유하는 조성물을 사용하여 형성되고, 상기 유기 전계 발광 재료는 호스트를 포함하며, 용매에 대해 높은 용해도를 갖는 유기 전계 발광 재료를 사용하여 보다 낮은 구동 전압을 가지고, 발광 효율이 향상된다.
Description
본 발명은 유기 전계 발광 소자에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로는 용매에 대한 용해도가 높은 유기 전계 발광 재료를 포함하여 발광 효율 및 구동 전압 등의 소자의 동작 특성이 향상된 유기 전계 발광 소자에 관한 것이다.
유기 전계 발광 소자는 자기 발광 현상을 이용한 디스플레이 소자로서, 시야각이 크고 액정 디스플레이에 비해 경박 및 단소해질 수 있고, 빠른 응답 속도 등의 장점을 가지고 있어 풀-컬러(full-color) 디스플레이 또는 조명으로의 응용이 기대되고 있다.
일반적으로 유기 발광 현상이란 유기 물질을 이용하여 전기에너지를 빛 에너지로 전환시켜주는 현상을 말한다. 유기 발광 현상을 이용하는 유기 전계 발광 소자는 통상 양극과 음극 및 이 사이에 유기물층을 포함하는 구조를 가진다. 여기서 유기물층은 유기 전계 발광 소자의 발광 효율과 안정성을 높이기 위하여 각기 다른 물질로 구성된 다층의 구조로 이루어진 경우가 많으며, 예컨대 정공주입층, 정공수송층, 발광층, 전자수송층, 전자주입층 등으로 이루어질 수 있다. 이러한 유기 전계 발광 소자의 구조에서 두 전극 사이에 전압을 걸어주게 되면 양극에서는 정공이, 음극에서는 전자가 유기물층에 주입되게 되고, 주입된 정공과 전자가 만났을 때 엑시톤(exciton)이 형성되며, 이 엑시톤이 다시 바닥상태로 떨어질 때 빛이 나게 된다. 이러한 유기 발광 소자는 자발광, 고휘도, 고발광 효율, 낮은 구동전압, 넓은 시야각, 높은 콘트라스트, 고속 응답성 등의 특성을 갖는 것으로 알려져 있다.
현재 디스플레이는 점점 대형화되어 가고 있다. 증착 공정을 이용하여 대형 디스플레이를 제조하는 경우, 기재가 커짐으로써 생산 수율이 저하되고 투자비가 증가하는 등의 단점을 가지고 있다. 또한 증착 공정은 진공 조건에서 단분자 물질을 증발하여 기재에 증착시키기 때문에, 고온의 증발 온도에서 분해가 일어나지 않도록, 유리전이온도가 높은 물질을 사용해야 하는 제한이 있다.
한편, 유기 전계 발광 재료를 용매에 용해하여 용액을 제조한 뒤, 기재 상에 용액을 도포하여 대형 디스플레이를 제조하는 경우, 증착 공정에 비해 공정 비용이 저렴하며 공정 단계가 비교적 간단하다는 장점이 있다. 그러나, 유기 전계 발광 재료가 용매에 대해 낮은 용해도를 가지는 경우가 많아, 소자의 발광 효율, 휘도, 전력 효율, 열적 안정성 및 수명 특성을 확보하는 것이 어려운 실정이다.
따라서, 용매에 대해 높은 용해도를 가지면서도, 소자의 발광 효율, 휘도, 전력 효율, 열적 안정성 및 수명 특성을 향상시킬 수 있는 유기 전계 발광 재료의 개발의 필요성이 지속적으로 요구되고 있다.
본 발명이 해결하고자 하는 과제는 용매에 대해 높은 용해도를 갖는 유기 전계 발광 재료를 사용하여 보다 낮은 구동 전압을 가지고, 발광 효율이 향상된 유기 전계 발광 소자를 제공하는 데에 있다.
본 발명이 해결하고자 하는 과제는 이상에서 언급한 과제에 제한되지 않으며, 언급되지 않은 또 다른 과제들은 아래의 기재로부터 해당 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게 명확하게 이해될 수 있을 것이다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 유기 전계 발광 소자는 제1 전극, 제2 전극 및 상기 제1 전극 및 상기 제2 전극 사이에 형성되는 유기물층을 포함하는 유기 전계 발광 소자로서, 상기 유기물층은 유기 전계 발광 재료 및 용매를 함유하는 조성물을 사용하여 형성되고, 상기 유기 전계 발광 재료는 호스트를 포함하고, 상기 호스트는 하기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 하나 이상의 화합물일 수 있다.

본 발명에 따른 유기 전계 발광 소자는 용매에 대한 용해도가 높은 유기 전계 발광 재료를 사용하여 제조될 수 있고, 발광 효율 및 구동 전압 등의 소자의 동작 특성이 우수하다.

이하, 바람직한 실시예를 들어 본 발명에 따른 유기 전계 발광 소자에 대해 설명한다. 그러나, 이들 실시예는 본 발명을 보다 구체적으로 설명하기 위한 것으로, 본 발명의 범위가 이에 의하여 제한되지 않는다는 것은 통상의 기술자에게 자명할 것이다.
도 1 은, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 유기 전계 발광 소자의 개략적인 단면도이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 유기 전계 발광 소자는 제1 전극(20), 상기 제1 전극(20)과 대향하는 제2 전극(80) 및 상기 제1 전극(20)과 제2 전극(80) 사이에 형성되는 유기물층을 포함할 수 있다.
예를 들어, 제1 전극(20)은 애노드일 수 있고, 제2 전극(80)은 캐소드일 수 있다. 유기물층은 정공수송층(40), 유기발광층(50) 및 전자수송층(60) 중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다. 유기물층은 필요에 따라, 정공주입층(30) 및 전자주입층(70)을 더 포함할 수 있고, 그 외에도 단수 또는 복수 개의 중간층들을 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 유기물층은 증착 공정 또는 용액 공정에 의하여 형성될 수 있다.
상기 증착 공정은 예를 들어 재료 물질을 진공 또는 저압상태에서 가열 등의 방법을 통해 증발시켜, 박막을 형성하는 방법을 의미할 수 있다. 상기 용액 공정은 예를 들어, 재료 물질을 용매와 혼합하여 용액을 형성한 뒤, 상기 용액을 스핀 코팅법, 딥 코팅법, 닥터 블레이드 코팅법, 스프레이 코팅법, 롤 코팅법, 잉크젯 프린팅 및 스크린 프린팅 등과 같은 방법을 통하여 박막을 형성하는 방법을 의미할 수 있다.
정공주입층(HIL, Hole Injecting Layer)(30)이 제1 전극(20) 및 정공수송층(40) 사이에 제공될 수 있다. 정공주입층(30)은 예를 들어, 폴리(3,4-에틸렌디옥시티오펜):폴리(스티렌술포네이트)(PEDOT:PSS), [4,4',4"-트리스(2-나프틸페닐-페닐아미노)-트리페닐아민](2-TNATA), [N,N'-디(1-나프틸)-N,N'-디페닐벤지딘)](NPD), [N,N'-디페닐-N,N'-비스(3-메틸페닐)-1,1'-비페닐-4,4'-디아민](TPD), [N,N'-디페닐-N,N'-비스-[4-(페닐-m-톨릴-아미노)-페닐]-바이페닐-4,4'-디아민](DNTPD), 구리프탈로시아닌(Copper phthalocyanine) 또는 스타버스트형 아민류인 [4,4',4"-트리(N-카르바졸릴)트리페닐-아민](TCTA), [4,4',4"-트리스-(3-메틸페닐페닐 아미노)트리페닐아민](m-MTDATA) 등을 포함할 수 있으나, 이에 제한되지 않고 당업계에서 통상적으로 정공주입층으로서 사용되는 물질을 포함할 수 있다.
정공수송층(HTL, Hole Transport Layer)(40)이 정공주입층(30) 및 유기발광층(50) 사이에 제공될 수 있다. 정공수송층(40)은 이온화 포텐셜이 작은 전자공여성 물질을 포함할 수 있다. 보다 구체적으로, 정공수송층(40)은 주로 트리페닐아민을 기본 골격으로 하는 디아민, 트리아민 또는 테트라아민 유도체, 예를 들어, N,N'-비스(3-메틸페닐)-N,N'-디페닐-[1,1-비페닐]-4,4'-디아민(TPD) 또는 N,N'-디(나프탈렌-1-일)-N,N'-디페닐벤지딘 (a-NPD) 등을 포함할 수 있다.
전자수송층(ETL, Electron Transport Layer)(60)이 제2 전극(80) 및 유기 발광층(50) 사이에 제공될 수 있다. 전자수송층(60)은 예를 들어, 옥사디아졸 유도체인 PBD, BMD, BND 또는 Alq3 등을 포함할 수 있다.
전자주입층(EIL, Electron Injecting Layer)(70)이 제2 전극(80) 및 전자수송층(60) 사이에 제공될 수 있다. 전자주입층(70)은 예를 들어, LiF, NaCl, CsF, Li2O, BaO 등을 포함할 수 있으나, 이에 제한되지 않고 당업계에서 통상적으로 전자수송층으로서 사용되는 물질을 포함할 수 있다.

상기 아릴기의 구체적인 예로는 페닐기, o-비페닐기, m-비페닐기, p-비페닐기, o-터페닐기, m-터페닐기, p-터페닐기, 나프틸기, 안트릴기, 페난트릴기, 피레닐기, 인데닐기, 플루오레닐기, 테트라히드로나프틸기, 페릴렌일기, 크라이세닐기, 나프타세닐기, 플루오란텐일기, 트리페닐렌일기 등과 같은 방향족 그룹을 들 수 있다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물에서 사용되는 치환기인 헤테로아릴기는 N, O, P, Si, S, Ge, Se 또는 Te 중에서 선택된 1, 2 또는 3개의 헤테로 원자를 포함하고, 나머지 고리 원자가 탄소인 탄소수 2 내지 24의 고리 방향족 시스템을 의미하며, 상기 고리들은 융합(fused)되어 고리를 형성할 수 있다. 그리고 상기 헤테로아릴기 중 하나 이상의 수소 원자는 상기 아릴기의 경우와 마찬가지의 치환기로 치환가능하다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물의 알킬기는 직쇄형 또는 분지형으로서, 구체적인 예로는 메틸, 에틸, 프로필, 이소프로필, 이소부틸, sec-부틸, tert-부틸, 펜틸, iso-아밀, 헥실 등을 들 수 있고, 상기 알킬기 중 하나 이상의 수소 원자는 상기 아릴기의 경우와 마찬가지의 치환기로 치환가능하다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물의 헤테로알킬기는 상기 알킬기의 주쇄 중의 탄소 원자 중 하나 이상, 바람직하게는 1 내지 5개의 탄소 원자가 산소 원자, 황원자, 질소 원자, 인 원자 등과 같은 헤테로 원자로 치환된 것을 의미하며, 상기 헤테로알킬기 중 하나 이상의 수소 원자는 상기 알킬기의 경우와 마찬가지의 치환기로 치환 가능하다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물의 시클로알킬기에서의 '시클로' 는 알킬기 내 포화탄화수소의 단일 고리 또는 다중 고리를 형성할 수 있는 구조의 치환기를 의미하며, 예컨대 시클로알킬기의 구체적인 예로는 시클로프로필, 시클로부틸, 시클로펜틸, 시클로헥실, 메틸시클로펜틸, 메틸시클로헥실, 에틸시클로펜틸, 에틸시클로헥실, 아다만틸, 디시클로펜다디에닐, 데카히드로나프틸, 노보닐, 보닐, 아이소보닐 등을 들 수 있고, 상기 시클로알킬기 중 하나 이상의 수소 원자는 상기 아릴기의 경우와 마찬가지의 치환기로 치환가능하다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물의 알콕시기는 알킬기 또는 시클로알킬기의 말단에 산소원자가 결합한 치환기로서, 이의 구체적인 예로는 메톡시, 에톡시, 프로폭시, 이소부틸옥시, sec-부틸옥시, 펜틸옥시, iso-아밀옥시, 헥실옥시 등을 들 수 있고, 상기 알콕시기 중 하나 이상의 수소 원자는 상기 아릴기의 경우와 마찬가지의 치환기로 치환가능하다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물의 아릴알킬기의 구체적인 예로는 페닐메틸(벤질), 페닐에틸, 페닐프로필, 나프틸메틸, 나프틸에틸 등을 들 수 있고, 상기 아릴알킬기 중 하나 이상의 수소 원자는 상기 아릴기의 경우와 마찬가지의 치환기로 치환가능 하다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물의 알킬실릴기의 구체적인 예로는 트리메틸실릴, 트리에틸실릴 및 메틸사이클로뷰틸실릴 등을 들 수 있고, 상기 알킬실릴기 중 하나 이상의 수소 원자는 상기 아릴기의 경우와 마찬가지의 치환기로 치환가능하다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물의 아릴실릴기의 구체적인 예로는 트리페닐실릴, 디페닐메틸실릴 및 디페닐비닐실릴 등을 들 수 있고, 상기 아릴실릴기 중 하나 이상의 수소 원자는 상기 아릴기의 경우와 마찬가지의 치환기로 치환가능하다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물의 알케닐기는 두 개의 탄소원자에 의해 이루어지는 하나의 탄소-탄소 이중 결합을 포함하는 알킬 치환기를 의미하며, 또한 알키닐기는 두 개의 탄소원자에 의해 이루어지는 하나의 탄소-탄소 삼중 결합을 포함하는 알킬 치환기를 의미한다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 본 발명의 화합물의 디아릴아미노기에는 상기 기재된 동일하거나 상이한 두 개의 아릴기가 질소원자에 결합된 아민기를 의미하며, 또한 본 발명의 화합물의 디헤테로아릴아미노기는 동일하거나 상이한 두 개의 헤테로아릴기가 질소원자에 결합된 아민기를 의미하고, 또한, 상기 아릴(헤테로아릴)아미노기는 상기 아릴기와 헤테로아릴기가 각각 질소원자에 결합된 아민기를 의미한다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 바람직하게는 상기 [화학식 1]에서 상기 A 는 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 30의 아릴기 및 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 3 내지 30의 헤테로아릴기로 이루어진 군에서 선택되고,
상기 L1 및 L2 는 서로 동일하거나 상이하고, 각각 독립적으로 단일 결합 및 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 30의 아릴렌기로 이루어진 군에서 선택되고,
상기 n1 및 n2 는 각각 1 이며,
상기 R 은 서로 동일하거나 상이하고, 각각 독립적으로 수소 원자, 중수소 원자, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 1 내지 8의 알킬기, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 30의 아릴기 및 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 3 내지 30의 헤테로아릴기로 이루어진 군에서 선택되고,
상기 R1 내지 R8 은 서로 동일하거나 상이하고, 각각 독립적으로 수소 원자, 중수소 원자, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 1 내지 8의 알킬기, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 18의 아릴기, 및 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 3 내지 18의 헤테로아릴기로 이루어진 군에서 선택될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 호스트는 분자량이 450 이상, 바람직하게는 500 이상, 더욱 바람직하게는 550 이상 및 더욱더 바람직하게는 600 이상인 것이 바람직하다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 호스트는 탄소수 1 내지 8의 알킬기를 적어도 하나 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 호스트는 중수소를 적어도 하나 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 호스트의 바람직한 화합물은 하기 화합물 1 내지 화합물 102 중 어느 하나이다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 화합물은 유기 용매에 대한 용해도가 0.1 wt% 내지 50 wt% 일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 0.5 wt% 내지 20 wt% 일 수 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
유기 용매는 염소계 용매, 에테르계 용매, 방향족 용매, 지방족 용매, 케톤계 용매, 에스테르계 용매, 알코올계 용매, 아미드계 용매 및 벤조에이트계 용매 중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 용매는 단일 순물질 또는 혼합물일 수 있으며, 바람직하게는 벤조에이트계 용매일 수 있다.
예를 들어, 상기 염소계 용매는 크로로포름, 염화메틸렌 또는 클로로벤젠을 포함할 수 있고, 상기 에테르계 용매는 테트라하이드로퓨란 또는 디옥산을 포함할 수 있고, 상기 방향족 용매는 톨루엔, 크실렌 또는 트리메틸벤젠을 포함할 수 있고, 상기 지방족 용매는 시클로헥산, n-펜탄 또는 n-헥산을 포함할 수 있고, 상기 케톤계 용매는 아세톤, 메틸에틸케톤 또는 시클로헥사논을 포함할 수 있고, 상기 에스테르계 용매는 아세트산에틸 또는 아세트산부틸을 포함할 수 있고, 상기 알코올계 용매는 메탄올, 에탄올, 프로판올 또는 시클로헥산올을 포함할 수 있고, 아미드계 용매는 N,N-디메틸포름아미드를 포함할 수 있고, 상기 벤조에이트계 용매는 메틸벤조에이트, 에틸벤조에이트 또는 부틸벤조에이트를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 유기 용매는 1종 단독으로 사용하거나, 또는 2종 이상의 용매를 혼합하여 사용할 수 있다.
상기 유기 용매의 비점은 60℃ 내지 300℃ 일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 130℃ 내지 300℃ 일 수 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
상기 유기 용매의 점도는 1 cP 내지 10 cP 일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 2 cP 내지 8 cP 일 수 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 화합물 및 유기 용매를 포함하는 조성물은 용액 공정을 이용한 유기 발광 소자의 제작에 적합하다.
상기 조성물은 형광 도펀트 또는 인광 도펀트를 추가로 포함할 수 있다.
상기 형광 도펀트는 예를 들어, 피렌계 화합물, 중수소 치환된 피렌계 화합물, 아릴아민, 중수소 치환된 아릴아민, 페릴계 화합물, 중수소 치환된 페릴계 화합물, 피롤계 화합물, 중수소 치환된 피롤계 화합물, 보론계 화합물, 플루오렌계 화합물, 중수소 치환된 플루오렌계 화합물, 히드라존계 화합물, 중수소 치환된 히드라존계 화합물, 카바졸계 화합물, 중수소 치환된 카바졸계 화합물, 스틸벤계 화합물, 중수소 치환된 스틸벤계 화합물, 스타버스트계 화합물, 중수소 치환된 스타버스트계 화합물, 옥사디아졸계 화합물, 중수소 치환된 옥사디아졸계 화합물, 쿠마린(coumarine), 중수소 치환된 쿠마린(coumarine)을 포함할 수 있으나 이에 제한되지 않을 수 있다.
상기 인광 도펀트는 예를 들어 이리듐, 백금, 오스뮴, 티타늄, 지르코늄, 하프늄, 유로퓸, 터븀, 툴륨, 철, 코발트, 니켈, 루테늄, 로듐, 팔라듐 또는 이들의 조합을 포함하는 유기 금속화합물을 들 수 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
상기 형광 도펀트 또는 인광 도펀트는 상기 호스트 100 중량부를 기준으로 0.01 중량부 내지 20 중량부일 수 있다.
상기 조성물에서 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 화합물을 포함하는 유기 전계 발광 재료의 함량은 0.5 wt% 이상일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 1.0 wt% 이상일 수 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
이하, 도 1을 참조하여 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 유기 전계 발광 소자의 제조 방법에 대하여 서술한다.
기판(10)이 준비될 수 있다. 기판(10)은 투명성, 표면 평활성, 취급 용이성 및 방수성이 우수한 유기 기판 또는 투명 플라스틱 기판일 수 있으나, 이에 제한되지 않고 통상적으로 유기 전계 발광 소자에서 사용되는 기판을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 기판(10)의 상면 상에 애노드 전극용 물질을 코팅하여 제1 전극(20)을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 애노드 전극용 물질은 투명하고 전도성이 우수한 물질, 예를 들어, 산화인듐주석(ITO), 산화인듐아연(IZO), 산화주석(SnO2) 및/또는 산화아연(ZnO)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 제1 전극(20)의 상면 상에 정공주입층 물질을 진공열 증착 또는 스핀 코팅하여 정공주입층(30)을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 정공주입층(30)의 상면 상에 정공수송층 물질을 진공 열증착 또는 스핀 코팅하여 정공수송층(40)을 형성할 수 있다.
상기 정공수송층(40)의 상면 상에 선택적으로 전자차단층 물질을 진공열 증착 또는 스핀 코팅하여 전자차단층(미도시)을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 전자차단층은 전자주입층(70)으로부터 주입된 전자가 유기발광층(50)을 지나 정공수송층(40)으로 진입하는 것을 방지하여, 소자의 수명과 효율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 전자차단층은 유기발광층(50)과 정공주입층(30)의 사이에 적절한 부분에 형성될 수 있으며, 바람직하게는 유기발광층(50)과 정공수송층(40) 사이에 형성될 수 있다.
상기 정공수송층(40) 또는 전자차단층의 상면 상에 유기발광층(50)을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 유기발광층(50)은 상기 유기 전계 발광 재료 및 상기 용매를 함유하는 용액을 사용하여 형성될 수 있다. 보다 구체적으로, 유기발광층(50)은 상기 용액을 스핀 코팅법, 딥 코팅법, 닥터 블레이드 코팅법, 스프레이 코팅법, 롤 코팅법, 잉크젯 프린팅 및 스크린 프린팅 중 어느 하나에 의해 상기 정공수송층(40)의 상면 상에 도포하여 형성될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 유기발광층(50)의 두께는 50 Å 내지 2,000 Å 일 수 있다.
상기 유기발광층(50)의 상면 상에 선택적으로 정공저지층(미도시)을 진공 증착 방법, 또는 스핀 코팅 방법으로서 박막을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 정공저지층은 HOMO(Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital) 레벨이 매우 낮은 정공 저지 물질을 포함하여, 정공이 유기발광층(50)을 통과하여 제2 전극(80)으로 유입되는 것을 방지하는 역할을 할 수 있다. 정공이 유기발광층(50)을 통과하여 제2 전극(80)으로 유입되는 경우, 유기 전계 발광 소자의 수명과 효율이 감소되기 때문이다. 상기 정공 저지 물질은 특별히 제한되지는 않으나 전자수송능력을 가지면서, 유기 전계 발광 재료보다 높은 이온화 포텐셜을 가질 수 있다. 상기 정공 저지 물질은 예를 들어, BAlq, BCP, TPBI 등을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 유기발광층(50) 또는 정공저지층의 상면 상에 전자수송층(60)을 진공 증착 방법 또는 스핀 코팅 방법을 통해 증착한 후 전자주입층(70)을 형성하고, 상기 전자주입층(70)의 상면 상에 캐소드 전극용 금속을 진공 열증착하여 제2 전극(80)을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 캐소드 전극용 금속은 예를 들어, 리튬(Li), 마그네슘(Mg), 알루미늄(Al), 알루미늄-리듐(Al-Li), 칼슘(Ca), 마그네슘-인듐(Mg-In), 마그네슘-은(Mg-Ag) 등을 포함할 수 있다. 전면 발광 유기 전계 발광 소자를 제조하는 경우, 상기 캐소드 전극용 금속은 산화인듐주석(ITO) 또는 산화인듐아연(IZO)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 서술한 제조방법에 의해, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 유기 전계 발광 소자가 제조될 수 있다.
본 발명은 하기 실시예에 의해 제한되지 않는다.
합성예 1. < 화합물 46 > 의 합성
합성예 1-1. <1-a> 의 합성
3000 ml 둥근바닥 플라스크에 질소 퍼지하고 1-브로모-3,5-bis(1-메틸에틸)벤젠 7.24 g (0.03 mol), B,B'-9,10- 안트라센디일비스[보론산] 7.44 g (0.028 mol), 테트라키스트리페닐포스핀팔라듐 (Pd[PPh3]4) 0.64 g (0.0006 mol), 탄산칼륨 9.00 g (0.065 mol), 톨루엔 100 ml 및 물 30 ml을 넣고 12 시간 환류하였다. 반응이 종결되면 반응액을 상온으로 냉각 후 층분리를 한 후 유기층을 농축하고 컬럼크로마토그래피를 이용하여 분리 후 재결정을 통해 <1-a> 4.15 g(수율 38.8% )를 얻었다.
합성예 1-2. <화합물 46> 의 합성
합성예 1-1 에서 B,B'-9,10- 안트라센디일비스[보론산] 대신 <1-a>, 1-브로모-3,5-디에틸벤젠 대신 9-브로모페난트렌을 사용한 것을 제외하고는 동일한 방법으로 합성하여 <화합물 46> 10.2 g (수율 70.8%)를 얻었다.

합성예 2. < 화합물 55 > 의 합성
합성예 1-2 에서 1,6-디브로모-3,8-bis(1-메틸에틸)피렌 대신 9-브로모-10-프로필페난트렌을 사용한 것을 제외하고는 동일한 방법으로 합성하여 <화합물 55> 10.3 g(수율 72.0%)를 얻었다.

실험예
용해도 평가
상기 합성예에서 제조한 화합물 및 비교화합물 [BH1]에 대하여 메틸벤조에이트 및 에틸벤조에이트에서 각각의 용해도를 상온에서 측정하였다. 2 wt%의 농도에서 모두 용해가 되는 경우를 O, 그렇지 않은 경우를 X로 평가하여 하기 [표 1]에 나타내었다.
실시예 1 내지 2
ITO 투명 전극에 정공주입층으로 널리 사용되는 폴리(3,4-에틸렌디옥시티오펜):폴리(스티렌술포네이트)(AI4083)을 스핀코팅하여 60 nm 두께로 성막한 후, 200℃에서 30분간 베이킹하여 정공주입층을 형성하였다. 상기 정공주입층 상에 TFB를 스핀코팅하여 20 nm 두께로 성막한 후, 130℃에서 10분간 베이킹하여 정공수송층을 형성하였다. 상기 정공수송층 상에 아래 [표 2]에 기재된 본 발명에 따른 호스트 화합물과 도펀트 <BD>(3wt%)를 함유하는 2wt% 메틸벤조에이트 용액을 스핀코팅하여 30 nm 두께로 성막한 후, 180℃에서 30분간 베이킹하여 발광층을 형성하였다. 이것을 질소 가스 분위기하 130℃에서 10분간 베이킹한 후, 전자수송층으로 [E-1]과 [E-2]를 (1:1)의 비율로 증착하여 25nm 두께로 성막하였다. 상기 전자수송층 상에 전자주입층으로 [E-2]를 증착하여 1nm 두께로 성막하였다. 마지막으로 상기 전자주입층 상에 음극으로 알루미늄을 100nm의 두께로 증착하여 유기발광소자를 제조하였다. 상기 유기발광소자의 발광특성은 10 mA/cm2 에서 측정하였다.
비교예 화합물의 경우 메틸벤조에이트에 대해 2 wt%만큼 용해되지 않아 소자 제작이 불가하였다.
상기 [표 1] 및 [표 2]에서 보는 바와 같이, 본 발명의 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 화합물은 비교화합물 [BH 1]에 비하여 용액공정에 적합하며, 유기 발광 소자에 적용 가능함을 확인할 수 있다.

- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 A 는 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 30의 아릴기 및 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 3 내지 30의 헤테로아릴기로 이루어진 군에서 선택되고,상기 L1 및 L2 는 서로 동일하거나 상이하고, 각각 독립적으로 단일 결합 및 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 30의 아릴렌기로 이루어진 군에서 선택되고,상기 n1 및 n2 는 각각 1 이며,상기 R 은 서로 동일하거나 상이하고, 각각 독립적으로 수소 원자, 중수소 원자, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 1 내지 8의 알킬기, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 40의 아릴기 및 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 3 내지 30의 헤테로아릴기로 이루어진 군에서 선택되고,상기 R1 내지 R8 은 서로 동일하거나 상이하고, 각각 독립적으로 수소 원자, 중수소 원자, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 1 내지 8의 알킬기, 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 6 내지 18의 아릴기, 및 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 3 내지 18의 헤테로아릴기로 이루어진 군에서 선택되는 유기 전계 발광 소자.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 용매는 염소계 용매, 에테르계 용매, 방향족 용매, 지방족 용매, 케톤계 용매, 에스테르계 용매, 알코올계 용매, 아미드계 용매 및 벤조에이트계 용매 중 적어도 어느 하나를 포함하는, 유기 전계 발광 소자.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 [화학식 1]로 표시되는 화합물은 용매에 대한 용해도가 0.1 wt% 내지 50 wt% 인, 유기 전계 발광 소자.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 호스트는 분자량이 500 이상의 화합물인, 유기 전계 발광 소자.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 호스트는 알킬기를 적어도 하나 포함하는, 유기 전계 발광 소자.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 호스트는 중수소를 적어도 하나 포함하는, 유기 전계 발광 소자.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 조성물은 적어도 하나의 도펀트를 추가로 포함하는 유기 전계 발광 소자.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 유기물층은 스핀 코팅법, 딥 코팅법, 닥터 블레이드 코팅법, 스프레이 코팅법, 롤 코팅법, 잉크젯 프린팅 및 스크린 프린팅 중 어느 하나에 의해 형성되는, 유기 전계 발광 소자.
