Abstract
An integrative device (1) for keyboard musical instruments is described, comprising at least one lever device designed to move in a plurality of directions, preferably four, and capable of modifying the pitch and/or modulating a note produced by at least one keyboard music instrument operatively connected to the device (1) via at least one MIDI-in connector device (5) and at least one MIDI-out connector device (7).
Description
INTEGRATIVE DEVICE FOR ELECTRONIC KEYBOARD MUSIC
INSTRUMENTS
The present invention refers to an integrative device for electronic keyboard musical instruments, preferably for piano .
The "pitchbend" is a feature of electronic keyboards that allows you to alter the pitch of the note and modulate it , keeping the same key pres sed, in fact imitating the croda instruments and the wind instruments that obtain the same resulting respectively by pulling the strings ( "bending" ) or by varying the emission of air from the mouth .
With this feature you get an effect similar to the virtuosity that can be obtained with an electric guitar, often used, for example in rock .
Generally, in keyboards on the market , this keyboard is made with a lever or a key, other types of keyboards do not have this functionality .
Object of the present invention is solving the aforementioned prior art problems by providing an integrative device for electronic keyboard musical
instruments that adds the functionality of the "pitchbend" to musical instruments that do not have one , through a way that interfaces with other instruments with a "MIDI" connection, considered a standard for communication between electronic musical devices .
The advantage of having a separate module favors the portability, modularity, and bulk of the musical instrument.
The above and other objects and advantages of the invention, as will emerge from the following description, are achieved with an integrative device for electronic keyboard musical instruments such as that described in claim 1 . Preferred embodiments and non-trivial variants of the present invention form the subject of the dependent claims .
It is understood that all the attached claims form an integral part of the present description .
It will be immediately obvious that innumerable variations and modifications ( for example relating to shape , dimensions , arrangements and parts with equivalent functionality) can be made to what is described without departing from the scope of the invention as appears from the attached claims .
The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments , provided by way of non-limiting example , with reference to the attached drawings , in which Figure 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the integrative device for electronic keyboard musical instruments according to the present invention .
With reference to Figure 1 , it can be noted that the integrative device 1 for electronic keyboard musical instruments comprises at least one lever device (not shown ) housed in a suitable compartment 3 : this lever device is designed to move in a plurality of directions , preferably four , it is pos sible to modify the pitch and/or to modulate a note produced by at least one keyboard musical instrument (not shown ) operatively connected to the device 1 by means of at least one MIDI connector device in 5 and at least one MIDI out connector device 7 .
The Applicant of the present invention has designed a modular modular piano : it proposes to be a valid alternative to the most common 5 or 7 octave ( or 88 keys ) keyboards and, at the same time , a new didactic instrument for those approaching the first turn musical education
through a compact , inexpensive and transportable instrument. The introduction of new modules can make this composable musical instrument even more attractive on the market .
Advantageously, the device 1 has a lever device , installed in a suitable compartment 3 which has the possibility of moving in different directions , preferably four .
Moving the lever device to the right increases the pitch of the note , moving it to the left decreases it .
By moving it towards the other, the note is modulated by adding a further vibration to the note .
Furthermore , the device 1 has a plurality of MIDI connectors , preferably two, the MIDI-in connector 5 and the MIDI-out 7 connector .
From the MIDI-out connector device 7 , the instrument sends the messages coming from the MIDI connector device 5 and the mes sages generated together with the movement of the lever device to the keyboard musical instrument.
In particular, the keyboard musical instrument operatively connected to the integrative device 1 can be :
- a piano;
- an electric piano;
- a digital piano;
- an electronic keyboard; - an organ;
- a pianola;
- a synthesizer;
- an accordion;
- a harpsichord; - a fortepiano; as long as they are equipped with a MIDI interface .
Claims
CLAIMS Integrative device (1) for keyboard musical instruments, characterized in that it comprises at least one lever device designed to move in a plurality of directions, preferably four, and capable of modifying the pitch and/or modulating a note produced by at least one instrument keyboard music operatively connected to said device (1) by means of at least one MIDI-in connector device (5) and at least one MIDI-out connector device (7) . Integrative device (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that said MIDI-out connector (7) , through the device (1) , is designed to send the messages coming from said MIDI-in connector device (5) and the generated messages contextually to the movement of the lever device to said keyboard musical instrument. Integrative device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said keyboard musical instrument is a piano or an electric piano or a digital piano or an electronic keyboard or an organ or a pianola or a synthesizer or an accordion either a harpsichord or a fortepiano.
Keyboard musical instrument, characterized in that it comprises an integrative device ( 1 ) according to any one of the preceding claims .
