Description
HOUSEHOLD OVEN COMPRISING ARRANGEMENT OF LOWER HEATING ELEMENT
[0001] The present invention refers to a household appliance, in particular to a household oven a surface thereof being protected by enamel, comprising a body with a door opening, an upper heating element arranged in the area of a top wall and inside said body, and a lower heating element arranged in the area of the bottom wall and outside said body.
[0002] Known household ovens comprise a lower heating element which is screwed to the oven body on at least one side, either to a separate intended carrier or to a carrier that is an integral part of the oven.
[0003] Furthermore, there are also solutions comprising an intended sheet metal that is an integral part of the oven, for example welded to the body, or an intended separate element, both provided for positioning and fixing the lower heating element. Similar solutions relate to the shield of the lower heating element, which is either laid on the insulation of the household oven as a separate part, welded to said body of the household oven, or fastened to said oven.
[0004] The clamping and position of said lower heating element are important factors as they affect the final result of the heat treatment of the food in the oven. In addition, the distance of the lower heating element to the bottom wall of the oven body is also important, as the contact of the lower heating element with the bottom wall of the oven body can cause the bottom wall to overheat and consequently crack the enamel at the point of contact. On the other hand, the lower heating element must not be placed directly on the insulation, as overheating of the lower heating element can lead to its failure.
[0005] The object of the present invention is to create a household oven with a new arrangement of the lower heating element.
[0006] The object of the present invention is achieved by the features set forth in the characteristics part of claim 1. Details of the invention are disclosed in the
corresponding subclaims.
[0007] Below, the invention is presented in more detail on the basis of a non-limiting embodiment and with reference to the accompanying drawings, where
Fig. 1 shows a household oven according to the invention in a three-dimensional view from below,
Fig. 2 a lower heating element and shield unit,
Fig. 3 detail A of Fig. 1.
[0008] The household oven according to the invention comprises a body consisting of a top wall 1, a bottom wall 2, side walls 3, 4, a back wall 5, and a front wall 6 defining an oven space 7 that can be closed by the doors (not shown) intended to be in said front wall 6. In the area of said top wall 1, an upper heating element (not shown) is arranged inside said oven space 7, while a lower heating element 8 is arranged in the area of said bottom wall 2 and outside said oven space 7. The latter is protected from direct contact with the thermal insulation (not shown) of the household oven by a flat shield 9 of the lower heating element 8 (shown in Fig. 1 by a dashed line).
[0009] Furthermore, on said bottom wall 2 of the household oven according to the invention, a carrier 10, preferably welded to said bottom wall 2, is attached in the area of the back wall 5 and on the side facing said shield 9 of the lower heating element 8. Said carrier 10, which extends approximately parallel to said bottom wall 2, is also intended for temporarily fastening said household oven body during its transport in the enamelling process.
[0010] Said lower heating element 8 is equipped with at least two wire mounts 11’, 11”, which extend on the plane of said shield 9 and in the direction from said back wall 5 towards said front wall 6 and are detachably connected to said shield 9 by means of a series of through holes 12 formed in said shield 9. Said mounts 11’, 11” are further connected, for example welded, to said lower heating element 8 by means of a set of fasteners 13. On the side of the lower heating element 8 facing said back wall 5 and at the longitudinal spacing from said shield 9, a flange 14 is provided, which keeps the
free ends of the lower heating element 8 at a constant distance from each other. Said flange 14 is designed for a form-locking and/or force-locking joint with said carrier 10, for example by means of a tongue-and-groove joint. Furthermore, said flange 14 is optionally protected against the release of said form-locking and/or force-locking joint. The above protection is selected as a protection without removable connecting elements, for example by means of a snap joint, a subsequent deformation of a part of the carrier 10, and/or the flange 14 or the like.
[0011] Said lower heating element 8, which is permanently connected to said wire mounts 11’, 11”, said flange 14, which is permanently connected to the lower heating element 8, and said shield 9 of the lower heating element 8, which is detachably connected to said wire mounts 11’, 11”, represent a uniform unit 15 that can be attached to said bottom wall 2 of the household oven.
[0012] Said lower heating element 8 is detachably connected to said carrier 10 by means of said flange 14 extending approximately perpendicularly to said carrier 10. Said detachable joint is provided as a form-locking and/or force-locking joint. Said flange 14 is intended as the first support point for holding the lower heating element 8 or said unit 15 in position, whereby said flange 14 is designed with a through hole or through holes for the passage of the lower heating element 8.
[0013] The second support point for holding the lower heating element 8 or said unit 15 in position are the free ends of said wire mounts 11’, 11” that face the front wall 6 of the household oven. Said free ends of the wire mounts 11’, 11” on the one hand lean against the approximately horizontal bend 6’ of the front wall 6 that extends towards the back wall 5 and are on the other hand received in the corresponding notch 16 formed in the bend 2’ of the bottom wall 2 extending parallel to said bend 6’ of the front wall and at a distance from the latter.
[0014] In addition, said wire mounts 11’, 11” are in their longitudinal direction in each case designed with at least one wavelike section 17 facing said bottom wall 2 and/or said shield 9. According to the invention at hand, it is envisaged that said wavelike section 17 leans either against said bottom wall 2 and/or against said shield 9, thus ensuring a constant distance of the shield 9 to the lower heating element 8 or of
the heating element 8 to the bottom wall 2 of the oven.
