Description

DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Refillable bottle intended to contain a makeup cosmetic product and associated device
The present invention relates to a bottle of the type intended to contain a makeup cosmetic product, the bottle comprising a cover and a removable refill. The refill is translatably mounted with respect to the cover along an axis of translation between:
- a free position in which the refill can be removed by a user by translation, and
- an engaged position in which the refill is inserted into the cover.
The cover comprises a skirt delimiting a housing for receiving the refill, extending along the axis of translation leading to a proximal end.
The refill comprises a container and a neck, the neck having a wringer.
The invention also relates to a packaging and application device for a cosmetic product, comprising the bottle according to the invention:
The invention applies to the packaging and dispensing of a makeup cosmetic product, particularly mascara, eyeliner, or gloss.
More generally, a "cosmetic product" is a product as defined in regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of November 30, 2009, on cosmetic products.
FR 3 080 009 B describes a device for applying a cosmetic product in which the bottle comprises a cover and a removable refill. The cover is intended to improve the outer appearance of the bottle. The refill is released from the cover by translation of the refill in relation to the cover, caused by a button being pressed.
However, the release of the refill from the cover can further be improved.
One purpose of the invention is to propose a bottle having an improved and easy- to-use release mechanism for releasing the refill, while maintaining a limited environmental impact.
To that end, the subject matter of the invention is a bottle of the aforementioned type, in which the skirt defines at least one slot on its periphery lying along the axis of translation and leading to the proximal end, the container of the bottle having on its periphery at least one pin protruding from the container, the pin being translatably mounted in the slot when the refill moves between the free position and the engaged position, the bottle having a peripheral ring rotatably mounted about the skirt, the ring defining at least one helical ramp lying in front of the slot and leading to the proximal end, the helical ramp receiving the pin when the refill moves between the free position and the engaged position, and the rotation of the ring of the bottle about the axis of translation causing the refill to move between the free position and the engaged position.
The movement between the free and engaged positions being caused by rotation of the ring about the axis of translation, and no pushing or pulling force is necessary for this movement.
In addition, when the bottle of cosmetic product becomes empty or the user wishes to change product, it does not need to be replaced in its entirety. Indeed, the refill simply needs to be changed while keeping the cover. In this way, such a bottle limits the generation of waste and therefore the environmental impact of the bottle.
The bottle according to the invention can comprise the feature according to which the slot defines a narrowing, the pin crossing the narrowing when the refill moves from the free position to the engaged position.
The narrowing keeps the refill firmly in the engaged position, thus avoiding any accidental release of the refill.
The bottle according to the invention can also comprise the feature according to which the skirt defines two holes on either side of the narrowing for transmitting an elastic deformation of the edges of the slot upon a movement of the pin.
The holes on either side of the narrowing allow the pin to cross the narrowing without the user applying an unreasonable torque to the ring or a thrusting force to the refill.
The bottle according to the invention can comprise the feature according to which the cover comprises a lower sleeve, the skirt and the lower sleeve delimiting an external annular shoulder perpendicular to the axis of translation, the ring resting on the external annular shoulder.
The annular shoulder on which the ring rests holds the ring and prevents it from moving in the translational direction along the cover, particularly when the refill is in the free position.
The bottle can comprise the feature according to which the external annular shoulder defines a locking protrusion, the locking protrusion having a passing slope, the ring having a cooperating tab, the tab being capable of being deformed elastically by passing over the passing slope in order to pass the locking protrusion.
The locking protrusion and more specifically its passing slope as well as the cooperating tab make it possible for the ring to be locked when the refill is placed in the free position. The deformation of the cooperating tab in order to cross the passing slope requires a moderate torque, thus allowing a user to know that the refill is in the free position once the passing slope has been crossed. The bottle according to the invention can also comprise the feature according to which the shoulder defines a stop, the cooperating tab being capable of coming into abutment with the stop after passing over the locking protrusion.
The stop limits the rotation of the ring and therefore prevents the ring from exerting a force on the pin if a user keeps the torque on the ring.
The bottle according to the invention can comprise the feature according to which the ring comprises an internal recess receiving the tab, the internal recess leading to the shoulder.
The internal recess prevents the movement of the ring from being constrained by the stop when going from the free position to the engaged position.
The device according to the invention can comprise the feature according to which the neck has an external thread on its periphery for screwing a cap.
The external thread on the neck of the refill makes it possible to close the bottle with a cap and thus prevent the cosmetic product in the bottle from drying out or becoming oxidized.
The bottle according to the invention can comprise the following features, according to which:
- the cover comprises two slots that are symmetrical to each other with respect to the axis of translation,
- the refill comprises two pins that are symmetrical to each other with respect to the axis of translation, each pin being received in a corresponding slot; and
- the ring comprises two helical ramps that are symmetrical to each other with respect to the axis of translation, each pin being received in a corresponding helical ramp.
Doubling the slots, pins, and helical ramps ensures a better hold of the moving mechanisms and thus avoids any premature deterioration of these parts.
The subject matter of the invention is also a packaging and application device for a cosmetic product, comprising a cap having a system for securing to the neck and a stem protruding from the cap, the stem being provided at one end with a cosmetic product application member, the applicator being movable between:
- a stored configuration in which the application member is housed in the refill and in which the cap is secured to the neck of the refill, and
- a product application configuration in which the application member is located outside the refill.
Such a device allows a user to apply the cosmetic product while affording the above- mentioned advantages. The invention will be easier to understand in view of the following description, provided solely as an example and with reference to the appended drawings, wherein:
- [Fig. 1 ] Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of a packaging and application device for a cosmetic product according to an embodiment of the invention,
[Fig. 2] Figure 2 is a close-up view of the device in figure 1 in which the refill is in the free position, and
[Fig. 3] Figure 3 is a close-up view of the device in figure 1 , in which the refill is in the engaged position.
A packaging and application device 5 for a cosmetic product according to the invention is shown in figures 1 to 3. The device 5 comprises a cosmetic product applicator 10 and a bottle (from French flaconnette) 15 intended to contain the cosmetic product.
The cosmetic product is a makeup cosmetic product, for example a mascara, eyeliner, or gloss.
The applicator 10 includes a cap 16 for closing the bottle 15, a stem 17 protruding from the cap 16, and an application member 18 located at one end of stem 17 at a distance from cap 16, for applying product to a body surface of a user.
The cap 16 comprises an inside thread (not shown) allowing said cap to be screwed onto the bottle 15 so as to close the bottle 15.
The application member 18 is capable of taking the makeup cosmetic product from the bottle 15 for application of the cosmetic product. The application member 18 is, for example, a brush, a tip, or a sponge.
The applicator 10 is movable between a storage configuration, in which the application member 18 is housed in the bottle 15 and the cap 16 is screwed onto the bottle 15, and a cosmetic product application configuration in which the application member 18 is outside the bottle 15.
The bottle 15 comprises a cover 25, a refill 30 translatably mounted with respect to the cover 25 along an axis of translation T, and a ring 35 for moving the refill 30 in relation to the cover 25. The ring 35 is rotatably mounted about the axis of translation T.
The cover 25 is a hollow longitudinal part lying along the axis of translation T. The axis of translation T passes through the center of a cross-section of the cover 25.
In reference to figure 2, the cover 25 comprises a lower sleeve 40, an upper skirt 45, and an external annular shoulder 50 defined between the lower sleeve 40 and the skirt 45.
The skirt 45 and the sleeve 40 delimit a housing for receiving the refill 30 lying along the axis of translation T and opening at a proximal end 52 located in the upper part of figure 1. The lower sleeve 40 is substantially cylindrical and hollow. It lies along the axis of translation T from the external annular shoulder 50 to the proximal end 52.
The skirt 45 is cylindrical. It defines two slots 65 that lie parallel to the axis of translation T and opening up at the proximal end 52. The slots 65 are symmetrical to each other with respect to the axis of translation T. They pass radially through the skirt 45.
The bottom of the slot 65 is located above and away from the shoulder 50 at a first height Hi. Each slot 65 is advantageously delimited by chamfered edges 67 on the skirt 45 at the proximal end 52.
Each slot 65 further defines a distal narrowing 70 closer to the external annular shoulder 50 than the proximal end 52. Each distal narrowing 70 is formed by a protruding area on each edge 73 of the slot 65, thus causing a local decrease in the width of the slot 65.
The skirt 45 further defines a through-hole 75 on either side of each narrowing 70 made perpendicular to the axis of translation T. The holes 75 facilitate elastic deformation of the protruding areas at each narrowing 70.
The external annular shoulder 50 lies in a plane perpendicular to the axis of translation T. The shoulder 50 has at least one locking assembly, preferably at least two opposing locking assemblies, each consisting of a locking protrusion 80 and a stop 85. The locking assemblies are arranged so as to be diametrically opposed to each other about the axis of translation T.
The locking protrusion 80 is substantially parallelepiped. It has a passing slope 90 extending from the shoulder 50 to a peak.
The locking protrusion 80 has a second height H2 between the shoulder 50 and the peak. The second height H2 is less than the first height Hi.
Each stop 85 extends from the side of the protrusion 80 located opposite the passing slope 90. The stop 85 is substantially parallelepiped and has a third height H3 with respect to the shoulder 50.
The third height H3 is between the first height Hi and the second height H2.
The refill 30 is translatable with respect to cover 25 along the axis of translation T between a free position (shown in figure 3) in which the refill 30 can be removed by a user from the cover 25 by translation along the axis of translation T, and an engaged position (shown in figure 2) in which the refill 30 is inserted into the cover 25 and cooperates therewith.
The refill 30 comprises a container 95 and a neck 100. The container 95 is cylindrical. It lies along the axis of translation T when the refill 30 is in the engaged position in the cover 25. The container 95 contains the makeup cosmetic product.
The container 95 includes two longitudinal ribs 105 on its periphery which extend from the neck 100 over a length L, parallel to the axis of translation T. The ribs 105 are symmetrical to each other with respect to the axis of translation T.
Each longitudinal rib 105 includes a pin 110 at its lower end which protrudes in relation to the container 95, and a section 112 of reduced width between the neck 100 and the pin 110.
When refill 30 is in the engaged position, each rib 105 is inserted into a slot 65 of the skirt 45. In this way, the reduced thickness section 112 of each rib 105 is engaged in the narrowing 70 of the corresponding slot 65.
Each pin 110 is capable of elastically deforming the edges 43 of the slot when crossing the narrowing 70.
The neck 100 is also cylindrical. It also lies along the axis of translation T when the refill 30 is in the engaged position in the cover 25.
The neck 100 has a wringer 115 on the inside capable of removing from the application member 18 the excess cosmetic product taken when the applicator 10 moves from the storage configuration to the application configuration.
The neck 100 also includes an external thread 120 on its periphery that cooperates with the internal thread of the cap 16.
The ring 35 is rotatably installed about the skirt 45 when the refill 30 moves from the free position to the engaged position.
Here, the ring 35 is circular. It lies along the axis of translation T between the proximal end 52 of the skirt 45 and the shoulder 50, on which it rests. The ring 35 defines a lower surface located in front of the skirt 45.
In reference to figure 3, the lower surface of the ring 35 defines, for each locking assembly, an internal recess 125 and a cooperating tab 130 protruding into the internal recess 125. The lower surface of the ring 35 further defines two helical ramps 135 carved out of the ring 35.
The internal recesses 125 have an angular extent about the axis T of more than 60° and in particular substantially equal to 90°. The internal recesses 125 open to the shoulder 50.
Each internal recess 125 receives a locking assembly. The internal recess 125 has a fourth height H4 greater than the third height H3 of the stop 85. As shown in figure 2, the cooperating tab 130 is intended to cooperate with the locking assembly. Each cooperating tab 130 is capable of being deformed elastically so as to cross the corresponding locking protrusion 80 through a cam effect over its passing slope 90, and of stopping against the stop 85 when the ring 35 is rotated about its axis in a first direction Si, causing the refill 30 to move from its engaged position to its free position.
Similarly, when the ring 35 is rotated in a second direction S2 opposite the first direction Si, causing the refill 30 to move from the free position to the engaged position, each cooperating tab 130 is capable of being deformed elastically so as to overcome the corresponding locking protrusion 80.
The helical ramp 135 lies in front of a corresponding slot 65. Each helical ramp 135 lies, on the internal surface of the ring 35, over an angular extent greater than 60°, in particular substantially equal to 90°.
Each helical ramp 135 is capable of receiving and guiding a corresponding pin 110.
The pin 1 10 is received both in the slot 65 and in the helical ramp 135.
When the ring 35 is rotated about the axis of translation T, each helical ramp 135 moves the pin 1 10 that it contains into the slot 65 by translation.
Similarly, translation of the pin 1 10 in the slot 65 along the axis of translation T causes the ring 35 to rotate about the axis of translation T via the helical ramp 135.
The operation of the bottle 15 according to the invention will now be described.
The applicator 10 is initially in the storage configuration. In order to apply cosmetic product, a user unscrews the cap 16 and pulls on the applicator 10 along the axis of translation T to remove the application member 18 from the refill 30.
When the application member 18 is removed from the refill 30, it rubs against the wringer, which removes the excess cosmetic product from the application member.
Once the application member 18 is completely removed from the bottle 15, the user applies the cosmetic product and returns the applicator 10 to the storage configuration.
When the user wishes to change the refill 30 of cosmetic product, for example because the cosmetic product is used up, the user turns the ring 35 in the first direction Si about the axis of translation T.
During this rotation, each cooperating tab 130, which was initially resting against its corresponding stop 85, is elastically deformed so as to overcome the associated locking protrusion 80. During this same rotation, each pin 110 is moved in the translational direction toward the proximal end 52 along the axis of translation T by the associated helical ramp 135, while being guided along the slot 65.
During this translation, the pin 1 10 elastically deforms the edges 73 and the slot 65 at the associated distal narrowing 70. When the pin 110 reaches the proximal end 52, the refill 30 is in the free position.
The user then pulls on the cap 16 of the applicator 10 along the axis of translation T so as to remove the refill 30 from the cover 25.
The user then disengages the cap 16 from the refill 30 and engages it on a new refill.
In order to reposition the new refill 30 in the engaged position, the user inserts the refill 30 into the cover 25 until each pin 1 10 enters into a corresponding slot 65, while being guided advantageously by the chamfered edges 67. The pin 1 10 is then positioned at the proximal end 52 of the cover 25.
According to a first mode of operation, the user turns the ring 35 about the axis of translation T in the second direction S2. This rotation causes a linked rotation of the helical ramp 135 and a translation of the pin 110 and the rib 105 in the slot 65.
The pin 110 crosses the distal narrowing 70 until it reaches the bottom of the slot 65. In addition, as the ring 35 is rotated, each cooperating tab 130 is deformed elastically along the passing slope 90 of the corresponding locking protrusion 80, overcomes the locking protrusion 80, and stops against the associated stop 85.
The refill 30 is then in the engaged position in the cover 25.
According to another mode of operation, the ring 35 is not rotated about the axis of translation T so as to cause the refill 30 to translate into the cover 25, but instead this translation is achieved by pushing on the refill 30 along this same axis T, causing a rotation of the ring 35 about the axis of translation T.
As a variant, the applicator 10 is first disengaged from the refill 30 before the refill 30 is released.
Thus, the bottle 15 according to the invention improves the release of the refill 30 from the cover 25.
