Description
DESCRIPTION
STORAGE DEVICE FOR PROTECTIVE FACE MASKS
Field of the Art
This utility model refers to a device for storing protective face masks of any kind, especially surgical and N95 masks, when they are not in use. The storage device makes it possible to simultaneously support and store protective face masks, disinfect or eliminate bacteria and viruses from them, in a short period of time.
State of the Art
In recent months, the use of protective face masks in enclosed spaces and in open areas has become obligatory in many countries, since this use helps the user to avoid contracting any infectious germ through microdroplets in the environment and through contact.
In order to avoid the undesired spread of microbes and/or viruses which may be present in protective face masks, it is important that these be stored in a safe and convenient way.
Likewise, the disinfecting properties of copper and its capacity to reduce germs are well known.
Therefore, new mask storage devices are needed that, in addition to providing storage, allow the simultaneous disinfection or elimination of bacteria and/or viruses from protective face masks, without using chemical agents
Brief Description of the Invention
For this purpose, examples of embodiments of the present invention provide a storage device for protective face masks, which comprises a laminate component that defines a longitudinal support for a protective face mask and several media or components for closing.
The laminate component includes independent layers, a first layer or exterior layer, formed, at least partially, of a flexible fabric, and a second layer, or interior layer, made of a copper-laminated cloth with the ability to inhibit or deactivate bacteria and/or viruses.
In this way, when the protective face mask is arranged over the interior layer, in order to be stored, the laminate component can be folded over itself, by one of its ends, wrapping around the mask, until the storage device is completely closed, producing a disinfection of the protective face mask in a determined period of time by means of contact between the cloth laminated with copper and the protective face mask.
In an example of an embodiment, the copper-laminated cloth contains between 6% and 33% of pure copper. The cited period of time is less than 24 hours.
In an example of an embodiment, the interior layer is larger (or of greater length) than the exterior layer, so that one end of the copper-laminated cloth extends beyond the end of the exterior layer of the fabric and is arranged over a portion of said exterior layer.
The closing means can comprise an elastic strip. Alternatively, the closing means can comprise one or more buttons, a VELCRO® strip, a 3M™ Dual Lock™ system or an adhesive strip at both ends of the set of two layers that form the laminate component.
In particular, the laminate component is rectangular.
Brief Description of the Figures
The above, and other advantages and characteristics will be understood more fully using the following detailed description of several examples of embodiments with reference to the attached drawings, which must be understood as illustrative and not limitative, in which:
Figure 1 shows an example of a preferred embodiment of the proposed storage device for protective face masks indicated the two layers that are components of the laminate component and their distinct longitudinal orientation.
Figures 2A - 2D provide other views of the storage device of Figure 1. In Figure 2B, the arrangement of a mask on the interior layer with copper is illustrated, and Figure 2C illustrates the step of folding the laminate component over itself, wrapping the mask, which is inside the interior, as illustrated in Figure 2D.
Detailed Description of Several Examples of Embodiments
With reference to Figures 1 and 2A - 2D, these show an example of a preferred embodiment of the storage device 1 for protective face masks, for example, surgical masks, N95 masks, cloth masks and others. As is observed in Figure 1 , the device 1 comprises a laminate component 10 that defines a longitudinal support.
The laminate component 10 is formed by two independent layers 11, 12. An exterior layer 11 of the laminate component 10 is made of a flexible fabric, for example, cotton or polyester, among others, while an interior layer 12 of the laminate component 10 is made of a copper-laminated cloth. In this example of an embodiment, the interior layer 12 is joined to the exterior layer 11, by a seam.
As is observed in Figure 1 , and in accordance with a preferred embodiment, the interior layer 12 is of greater length than the exterior layer 11 , due to which one end projects copper-laminated cloth arranged on a portion of the exterior layer 11. The copper- laminated cloth can contain between 6% and 33% pure copper. Figures 2A and 2B, respectively, show a detailed view of the exterior layer 11 and of the interior layer 12, over which the mask to be protected and disinfected has been arranged.
In addition, the proposed device 1 includes several closing means. In this example of a particular embodiment, a VELCRO® strap 13A is arranged at one end of the laminate element 10, over the exterior layer 11 , which is adapted to be hooked to a VELCRO® closing 13B also arranged on exterior layer 11 , for the full closure of proposed device 1 .
When the user is not using the protective face mask 20, it must be arranged on the interior layer 12, as is shown in Figures 2B, 2C. for its protection and disinfection. Then the user can, easily, begin to fold an end portion of the laminate component 10, opposite of the closing means 13A, until the complete closing of device 1 by means of the closing means 13A, 13B. When device 1 is completely folded (see Figure 2D), the protective face mask 20 is completely wrapped in the laminate component 10. Thus, and due to contact between interior layer 12 and the protective face mask 20, within a period of at least 3 - 4 hours, and fewer than 24 hours, the inhibition or deactivation of bacteria and viruses which may be contained in the protective face mask 20 occurs.
In addition, device 1 , once closed, makes it possible for the straps of the protective face mask 20, once closed, by extending beyond device 1, to be hung from the wrist, a hanger,
etc.
In other examples of embodiments, not illustrated, the closing means can comprise an elastic strip arranged only at one of the ends of the laminate component 10, which can surround the laminate component 10, once the latter has been completely folded. In addition, in other examples, also not illustrated, the closing means can comprise one or more buttons or even an adhesive strap. Further, in some examples of embodiments, the closing means 10, instead of being formed by the cited VELCRO® strap 13A, could be implemented by one or more VELCRO® closures or buttons located at one of the ends of the interior layer 12, with their respective one or more closures located at the opposite end of the interior layer 12.
In other examples of embodiments, the interior layer, instead of being a copper-laminated cloth, could be only a copper laminate joined to the exterior cloth layer by a seam.
A person versed in the art could introduce changes and modifications in the examples of embodiments described above, without differing from the scope of the invention, as is defined in the attached claims.
