Description

CODING MECHANISM TO SECURE A WATCH
Description
Technical field
The present invention relates to a coding self-destructing watch mechanism. In particular, the present invention relates to those wristwatches which are currently manufactured as high quality and expensive watches, being top representative watch brands. Their beauty and perfection are invaluable to the owner, as in many cases they are works of art and only a limited number of pieces has been made. It is precisely because of these qualities that these objects do not escape the attention of thieves, traffickers or counterfeiters. If such watches are lost or stolen, the owner has to face the problem with how to prove their ownership or to find them after assembling and changing the serial numbers from several models. Manufacturers issue certificates or other identification documents for such watches; however, these can nowadays easily be subject to counterfeiting using state-of-the-art technology.
Securing electronic or hybrid watches, which are secured by mobile phones, computers and the like, can be easily overcome as well as their coding. The mechanism itself according to the technical solution cannot be removed or disassembled, it can be secured, for example, by self-destruct screws, which will break during unauthorized manipulation, thus making it impossible to open the watch. The watch can only be opened by its manufacturer or an authorized service centre.
The device according to the invention also prevents the counterfeiting of mechanical and automatic branded watches and will make it impossible for counterfeits to be sold as original pieces, regardless of the quantity which they are produced in.
Subject matter of the invention
The solution according to the invention consists of a watch and coding mechanisms. The known watch mechanism consists, e. g., of a watch body 8 with a winding and push-pull crown 1 with a shaft which continues with a pinion 2 which passes into a connecting pinion 3, which actuates the control pinion 4 for actuating the middle wheel 5. Coding rollers 22, 22' contain springs for driving the coding mechanism. The above elements are used to set the watch hands, i. e., the exact time, and to ensure the operation of the watch by coding, a mechanism has been created, a technical solution according to the invention, which prevents the watch from functioning in the event of theft, and which consists in that the watch coding mechanism is mounted on a support plate provided with push-pull grooves, fixed on the sliding plate are the control and locking rollers with three toothings controlling the control wheel, the main spring is attached by guide anchors to the fixed cover plates of the coding rollers provided with coding latches, the main spring being provided with a toothing, between the coding rollers there is the middle control wheel, further in the watch body there is a coding button with a spring and a button with a crown.

Example of embodiment
The watch coding mechanism for securing the watch according to the technical solution cooperates with a known watch mechanism and consists of a coding button 14 with a spring 15, which is located in the body 8 of the watch. The coding mechanism of the watch is placed on a support sliding plate 9 on which push- pull grooves 10 are made, allowing its movement from basic position to position 23. The control wheel 12 of the main spring 13 with three toothings is fixed to the support sliding plate 9 and the main spring 13 is fixed by means of guide anchors 16, 16' to the fixed cover plate 17 and the cover plate 17' of the coding rollers 22, 22'. The control wheel 12 of the main spring 13 controls the cover plates 17, 17' of the coding rollers 18, 18' with toothing. To control the coding mechanism, a button 21 with a second crown 20 is placed in the body 8 of the watch to control the support sliding plate 9 of the mechanism. After being pushed by button 21 of the coding mechanism, the support sliding plate 9 takes the released position 23 marked with the dashed line in FIG. 1. The coding mechanism is connected to the watch mechanism via a control and locking roller 11 with three toothings.
The winding and push-pull crown 1 with the shaft is pushed and the winding pinion 2 and the connecting pinion 3 and the control pinion 4 are connected to the middle wheel 5 through which they are connected to the coding mechanism of the watch. By winding the winding and push-pull crown with the shaft 1, the springs (not shown) of the watch mechanism as well as with the three toothings, the coding rollers 22 and 22', which are provided with cover plates 17 and 17' are stretched. By extending the winding and sliding crown 1 , the time is set and the entire coding system is moved by rotation to accurately copy the time and/or selected numerical values. After setting the time, hour, minute, second, all the toothings of the individual wheels in hours must be synchronized so that the time indicator corresponds exactly to the code when setting. Thus, the hour, minute, second hand 7 by means of the clock wheel 6 and the middle wheel 5 must be precisely aligned with the control and locking roller 11, the coding rollers 22, 22' the coding latches 26, 26' and the toothings 25, 25' of the main spring 13. By pressing the coding button 14 with the groove, the selected code is stored in the coding latches 26, 26' of the first and in the coding roller 22 and the second coding roller 22' by means of a spring 15 and a main spring 13 provided with guide anchors 16 and 16'.
The middle control wheel 19, which is located between the coding rollers 22, 22', ensures duplicate transmission of the set codes to the first coding roller 22, which also serves to block the coding mechanism in case of entering the wrong coded of the coding button 14 with a groove via spring 15 and the main spring 13 provided with guide anchors 16 and 16', the selected code is stored in the coding latches 26, 26' of the first coding roller 22 and the second coding roller 22'.
This operation can be repeated several times, depending on the manufacturer and the type of watch. By pushing the winding and push-pull crown 1 with the shaft into basic position, the watch is not yet in operation. By pressing the button 21 with the crown 20 to control the support sliding plate 9, the locked support sliding plate 9 is moved to the released position 23 and the watch runs/shows the current time, while being coded at the same time.
By pressing the button 21 , the support sliding plate 9 returns to basic position and the watch mechanism via the control and locking roller 11 is locked, thus making the watch inoperative. To restore its function, it is necessary to enter the correct numeric code, i. e., the time in hours, minutes, seconds known only to the owner of the watch or a person authorized by him. After encoding the watch, it is not possible to release the watch lock mechanism 14 without entering the correct code.
The watch is coded as follows:
Button 1 is pushed and the watch springs with the coding rollers 22, 22' are winded.
The push-pull crown with shaft 1 is pulled out and the time is set, in this case representing numbers from 1 to 60, i.e., 60 options times 3, hours, minutes, seconds and always pressing button 14, with spring 15. In this way, the codes are transmitted by means of the main spring 13 provided with toothings 25, 25' and stored in the coding latches 26, 26' of the first coding roller 22 and the second coding roller 22'. Then the button 21 is pressed and the whole coding mechanism located on the support sliding plate 9 is moved to released position 23 and the watch is functional in terms of time display.
The following procedure is used to decode the watch:
The button 21 is pulled out and then the base plate 9 is moved from released position 23 to coding position. Button 1 is pulled out and the previously selected code, which consists of hours, minutes and seconds, is set precisely on the watch. The selected code is confirmed with button 14 and when the correct code is entered, the watch mechanism is released and a new code can be set. When entering the code, the coding catches 26, 26' of the coding rollers 22, 22' are marked by means of toothings 25, 25' of the main spring 13, so that the entered code is remembered. When the button 14 is released, the coding latches 26, 26' return to their original position as with safes or the ENIGMA system and the like. There are 360 latches in each coding roller 22, 22' and springs as a source of mechanical energy. Latches 26, 26' function as springs and after entering the time-code they return to their basic position.
Industrial applicability
Technical solution, the subject of which is a coding mechanism that can be used to protect expensive and exclusive watches during their production. The technical solution according to the invention can also be used in other industries where the highest degree of mechanical protection is required. The mechanism itself according to the technical solution is universal. Each watch mechanism is different depending on its manufacturer and therefore needs its own coding mechanism. Each watch model from different manufacturers has developed a different clockwork and therefore can adjust the location of the coding device according to the invention according to its production capabilities, can be therefore positioned it in the watch vertically, horizontally, etc., but it is important that the specific technical solution always remains secret .
The seller will receive a watch from the manufacturer according to the technical solution already coded by the manufacturer. The watch is accompanied by an instruction manual for their operation without a code, they are blocked, each watch with a different code. One model will serve as a demonstration model for demonstrating the mechanism to those interested. When purchasing a watch, the manufacturer sends the code to the store in a cipher according to the serial number of the watch. However, the personnel gets to know the watch's serial number only after opening the sealed watch box. After payment, the manufacturer immediately sends a code to the watch, by which the watch has been blocked. After sending the serial number of the watch to the manufacturer, the location of the store where the watch is present will be identified immediately. After opening the watch box, the invisible seal is broken, activating GPS or another alarm system. Nowadays, there are many possibilities to ensure that the security system of the watch packaging cannot be bypassed or overcome. For example, it may be a self-developing flat spring resistant to magnetism, so that it is not possible to determine where it is located and subsequently deactivate it. Vibrations and expansion of the spring charge the microsource, which activates the GPS or another system in the store, which automatically activates the manufacturer. This is a mechanical solution which cannot be deactivated. If the mentioned security measures in the watch box are violated, the security elements are activated through the store and the manufacturer is notified and the seller must confirm that he has opened the watch box and that payment has been made. Then, the manufacturer sends the code and a trained seller decodes the watch, making it functional, and the owner of the watch can then enter his own code.
If a wrong code is entered, the watch will remain locked.
