Description

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTELLIGENT REMINDERS ON A USER DEVICE TECHNICAL FIELD
The present disclosure relates generally to triggering of a reminder on a user device, and more particularly, to a system and method for triggering intelligent reminders on a user device.
BACKGROUND
The following description of related art is intended to provide background information pertaining to the field of the disclosure. This section may include certain aspects of the art that may be related to various features of the present disclosure. However, it should be appreciated that this section be used only to enhance the understanding of the reader with respect to the overall field of the invention, and not as admissions of prior art. With the strive to make tasks easier and more convenient for the user, technology allows the user to set reminders for doing various tasks. These mechanisms allow the user to set a reminder for a particular time and add a description for the reminder. The reminder is only triggered when the time set for the reminder matches the clock. This mechanism only provides for triggering the reminder when the time set for reminder is reached and displays the description input by the user. Since these reminders are not dynamically changed by the system and are only triggered based on the time set, these reminders are often known as “static reminders” .
However, static reminders have many inherent limitations. There exists a need to provide for improvement in this area of technology.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This section is provided to introduce certain objects and aspects of the present invention in a simplified form that are further described below in the detailed description. This summary is not intended to identify the key features or the scope of the claimed subject matter. In order to overcome at least a few problems associated with the known solutions as provided in the previous section, an object of the present invention is to provide for a system and method for triggering intelligent reminders on a user device.
It is also an object of the present invention to provide for a mechanism that intelligently generates meaningful reminders using the details stored in various applications and databases.
It is yet an object of the present invention to provide for triggering meaningful and intelligent reminders to a user dynamically.
In view of the aforesaid objects of the present invention, a first aspect of the present invention relates to a method for triggering intelligent reminders on a user device. The invention commences when a reminder information associated with a trigger is received from the user using an input unit. The invention encompasses that the reminder information received from the user may comprise of at least one entity. Upon receipt of the reminder information, at least one entity in the reminder information is identified by an entity manager. Thereafter, based on the at least one entity, at least one tag in at least one of a database and application is determined by an identification manager. Finally, at least one reminder is generated by a reminder module based on the reminder information and the at least one determined tag. The reminder is then dynamically triggered on a user interface of the user device.
Another aspect of the invention relates to a system for intelligent reminders on a user device. The system comprises of a user device comprising of an input unit, an entity manager, an identification manager and a reminder module. The input unit is configured to receive a reminder information associated with a trigger from a user. The invention encompasses that the reminder information comprises of at least one entity. Thereafter, the entity manager is configured to identify at least one entity. Based on the at least entity, the identification manager is configured to determine at least one tag. Finally, the reminder module is configured to generate at least one reminder based on the reminder information and the at least one determined tag and dynamically trigger the at least one reminder on the user interface of the user device.

The foregoing shall be more apparent from the following more detailed description of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INEVNTION
In the following description, for the purposes of explanation, various specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the embodiments of the present invention. It will be apparent, however, that embodiments of the present invention may be practiced without these specific details. Several features described hereafter can each be used independently of one another or with any combination of other features. An individual feature may not address any of the problems discussed above or might address only some of the problems discussed above. Some of the problems discussed above might not be fully addressed by any of the features described herein. Example embodiments of the present invention are described below, as illustrated in various drawings.
Apart from static reminders as discussed in the background section, there are also certain known mechanisms that provide for associating multiple to-do-list items of the user and combining them into one reminder. The objective of such mechanism is to centralize all the Personal Information Management (PIM) records of the  user in multiple electronic devices and generate reminders only based on time and proximity. Hence, these systems remind users of the tasks in specific times only.
It is pertinent to note that these mechanisms simply trigger the reminder at a particular time. Therefore, there is no dynamic triggering of the reminders. Further, the description of the reminders is used “as-is” and is not adapted intelligently based on the context of the reminder. It is observed that there is no mechanism in the prior art that processes a reminder description received from a user to generate and trigger meaningful and intelligent reminders. In fact, there is no mechanism that automatically and dynamically changes the reminder information received to a meaningful and reliable reminder.
Therefore, there exists a need for a mechanism that processes reminder information received from an user to trigger meaningful and intelligent reminders to the user. Particularly, there is a need to automatically and intelligently adapt the description of the reminder based on the context of the reminder information received.
In order to overcome the above limitations and drawbacks, the present invention provides a method and system for triggering intelligent reminders on a user device. The invention commences when a reminder information associated with a trigger is received from the user. The invention encompasses that the reminder information received from the user may comprise of at least one entity. Upon receipt of the reminder information, at least one entity in the reminder information is identified. Thereafter, based on the at least one identified entity, at least one tag in at least one of a database and application is determined. Finally, at least one reminder is generated based on the reminder information and the at least one determined tag. The reminder is then dynamically triggered on the user interface of the user device.
As used herein, “connect” , “configure” , “couple” and its cognate terms, such as “connects” , “connected” , “configured” and “coupled” may include a physical connection (such as a wired/wireless connection) , a logical connection (such as through logical gates of semiconducting device) , other suitable connections, or a combination of such connections, as may be obvious to a skilled person.
As used herein, “send” , “transfer” , “transmit” , and their cognate terms like “sending” , “sent” , “transferring” , “transmitting” , “transferred” , “transmitted” , etc. include sending or transporting data or information from one  unit or component to another unit or component, wherein the data or information may or may not be modified before or after sending, transferring, transmitting.
Referring to Figure 1, an exemplary implementation of a system for triggering intelligent reminders on a user device. As shown, the system [100] comprises of a user device [102] comprising of a user interface [102a] , an input unit [102b] , an entity manager [102c] , an identification manager [102d] , a database [102e] and a reminder module [102f] . Although the entity manager [102c] , the identification manager [102d] , the database [102e] and reminder module [102f] are shown to be a component of user device [102] in figure 1, the invention encompasses that these units and modules may be separate units and entities that may be connected to the user device [102] using any communication network, wired or wireless, configured to work in accordance with the working of the present invention, and without departing from the scope of the invention.
As used herein, the user device [102] refers to any electrical, electronic, electromechanical and computing device. The user device [102] may include, but is not limited to, a mobile phone, a smartphone, a tablet, a phone, a laptop, a wearable device, a personal digital assistant and any such device obvious to a person skilled in the art. It will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that the structure shown is merely illustrative and does not limit the structure of the system [100] .

Although only one user device [102] has been shown in the Fig. 1, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the invention may be implemented in any number of user devices [102] .
Figure 2 illustrates a flow diagram depicting an exemplary method for triggering intelligent reminders in a user device is disclosed in accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present invention.
The method begins at step 202, when a reminder information is received from user using the input unit [102b] . An input may also be received may be received from the user to open an application. Further, an input may be received to start an application to set a reminder. An input may be received to enter a reminder information in an application. For example, the user may click a soft button on a touch panel of the input unit [102b] to open  a calendar application. The user may then click on an input area of the calendar application to enter a reminder information. In another example, the user may click a soft button on a touch panel of the input unit [102b] to open a clock application. The user may then click on an input area of the clock application to enter a reminder information.
The invention encompasses that the reminder information is associated with a trigger from the user. The associated trigger is for a alerting the user for a particular task or event in the reminder information. For example, a reminder information “Check with HR about latest change in LTA policy” may be received from the user in an alarm application. In another example, a reminder information “Service the car in six months” may be received from the user in a calendar application.
The invention encompasses that the reminder information received from the user comprises of at least one entity. The input received from the user is then transmitted to the entity manager [102c] .
At step 204, upon receipt of the input, at least one entity is identified in the reminder information received from the user. The reminder information is received by the entity manager [102c] for identifying the at least one entity. In a preferred embodiment, the at least one entity is identified in the input received by the entity manager [102c] using natural language processing. For example, the entity manager [102c] may identify the entity “HR” in a reminder information “Check with HR about latest change in LTA policy” . In another example, the entity manager [102c] may identify the entities “Car” , “servicing” and “six months” in a reminder information “Service the car in six months” .
At step 206, at least one tag is determined. The at least one entity identified by the entity manager [102c] is received by the identification manager [102d] . The invention encompasses that the at least one tag is determined by the identification manager [102d] . The determination of at least one tag is based on the at least one entity.
The present invention encompasses that at least one application on the user device [102] may be analyzed by the identification manager [102d] to determine at least one tag. The at least one application is analyzed by the identification manager [102d] by processing at least one entry in application. In a preferred embodiment, all  the entries of at least one application may be processed by the identification manager [102d] . In another embodiment, only certain selected entries in the application may be processed by the identification manager [102d] .
The invention encompasses that the at least one application may be analyzed by the identification manager [102d] . The at least one application is analyzed using at least one of artificial intelligence and image processing. The at least one application may be analyzed by comparing at least one entry in the application to at least one entity identified in the reminder information. For example, the contact application may be analyzed by processing all entries in the contact application with respect to the entity “HR” identified in the reminder information using artificial intelligence. The entries in the contact application with at least a portion of the name of the entry comprising of “HR” or “Human Resource” or “HR dept” may be tagged using artificial intelligence with respect to the entity “HR” identified in the reminder information. In another example, all entries with at least a portion of the name comprising of “Car” may be tagged in a video application using artificial intelligence.
The invention further encompasses that the at least one database [102e] may be analyzed by the identification manager [102d] . The at least one database [102e] is analyzed using at least one of artificial intelligence and image processing. The at least one database [102e] may be analyzed by comparing at least one entry in the database [102e] to at least one entity identified in the reminder information. In a preferred embodiment, all the entries in the database [102e] may be processed. In another embodiment, only certain entries in at least one database [102e] may be processed. For example, the database [102e] may be analyzed by processing all entries with respect to the entity “Servicing” identified in the reminder information using artificial intelligence. The entries, such as videos, in the database [102e] with at least a portion of the content of the video comprising of “car” or “automobile” and “servicing” or “repair” or “maintenance” may be tagged using artificial intelligence with respect to the entity “servicing” identified in the reminder information.
In a preferred embodiment, at least a portion of a frame of a media in at least one entity is detected in an application or a database [102e] . The invention encompasses that at least a portion of a frame of a media is  detected in at least one entity using image processing. In an embodiment, at least a portion of a frame of a media is detected in at least one entity using artificial intelligence. For example, the image of all the identified tagged entries comprising of “HR” or “Human Resource” or “HR dept” in the name of the contact may be detected using image processing. In another example, at least one frame of all videos with at least a portion of the content of the frame of the video comprising of “car” or “automobile” and “servicing” or “repair” or “maintenance” may be detected using image processing.
The invention further encompasses that the determination of at least one tag comprises associating at least one determined tag with at least one entity identified in reminder information. In a preferred embodiment, the at least one determined tag is extracted and incorporated in at least one entity identified in reminder information. In another embodiment, a link between at least one determined tag and at least one entity identified in reminder information is created. In yet another embodiment, the at least one determined tag is copied in the at least one entity identified in reminder information.
The at least one determined tag is then transmitted to the reminder module [102f] . The invention encompasses that the at least one determined tag is transmitted along with the association of at least one determined tag with at least one entity identified in reminder information. In a preferred embodiment, the detected portion of a frame of a media in at least one entity in an application or a database [102e] is also transmitted to the reminder module [102f] .
At step 208, at least one reminder is generated. The invention encompasses that at least one reminder is generated by the reminder module [102f] . In a preferred embodiment, the at least one reminder is generated dynamically. The invention encompasses that at least one reminder is generated based on the reminder information and the at least one tag determined by the identification manager [102d] . The at least one reminder may be generated using artificial intelligence.
The invention encompasses that the at least one reminder is generated by the reminder module [102e] by processing the at least one tag determined by the identification manager [102d] . The reminder is generated by adding the at least one determined tag to the reminder information. In an embodiment, the reminder is generated by replacing at least one entity in the reminder information by the at least one determined tag. In  another embodiment, the reminder is generated by adding the at least one determined tag in relation to the at least one entity in the reminder information. The invention further encompasses that the reminder generated may comprise of the at least a portion of a frame of a media detected in at least one entity in an application or a database [102e] . For example, the reminder “Check with Alex in HR department about the latest change in LTA policy” may be generated, along with a photo of Alex retrieved from a social media application, for the received reminder information “Check with HR about latest change in LTA policy” . In another example, a reminder with a video of a car servicing advertisement may be generated along with the text “Service the car here in six months” for the received reminder information “Service the car in six months” .
The reminder may then be stored in a database [102e] by the reminder module [102e] . The at least one reminder is stored in the database [102e] to be associated with at least one entity.
Finally, at step 210, at least one reminder is dynamically triggered. The at least one reminder is dynamically triggered by the reminder module [102f] . The invention encompasses that the reminder may be dynamically triggered as an alert to the user. In a preferred embodiment, the reminder may be dynamically triggered by generating a sound or audio on the user device [102] . In another embodiment, the reminder may be dynamically triggered by initiating a vibration on the user device [102] in an event the sound of the phone is off/on silent mode. In yet another embodiment, the reminder may be dynamically triggered by displaying a message, a pop-up message on the user device.
The invention further encompasses that the reminder is dynamically triggered using artificial intelligence. In a preferred embodiment, the reminder is dynamically triggered based on the context of the reminder. For example, the reminder “Wish mom and dad on their anniversary on 7 th December” with a photo the parents may be automatically and dynamically triggered annually on 7 th December. In yet another example, the reminder “Buy new geyser from XYZ Company before Winter” along with showing a video depicting the XYZ company selling geysers along with the details may be automatically and dynamically triggered on 1 st November before Winter starts. In yet another example, reminder “Repair AC from ABC company before Summer” along with the tagged image of ABC company repairing ACs may automatically be triggered in April before Summer season starts.
The invention encompasses that the reminder may be displayed as a notification to the user on the user interface [102a] . In a preferred embodiment, the notification may comprise of an alert to the user along with an option to dismiss or snooze the reminder. In another embodiment, the notification may comprise of an option to delete the reminder. The notification may be a pop-up message, a message, an email, an overlay message and the like. For example, a notification comprising of an audio sound and a message “Check with HR about latest change in LTA policy” may be displayed on the user device [102] simultaneously. In another example, a video of a car servicing advertisement may be played on the user interface [102a] along with the notification comprising of text “Service the car here in six months” and an option to dismiss and delete the reminder.
In an exemplary embodiment, the invention begins when an input is received from user to open a calendar application to set a reminder. Thereafter, a reminder information “Wish sales manager on his birthday” is received from user by the input unit [102b] to set a reminder. The reminder information is associated with a trigger from the user for alerting the user for a particular task in the reminder information. The input received from the user is then transmitted to the entity manager [102c] .
Upon receipt of the reminder information, at least one entity is identified in the reminder information received from the user by the entity manager [102c] using natural language processing. The entity manager [102c] may identify the entities as “sales manager” and “birthday” in the received reminder information.
Thereafter, at least one tag is determined by the identification manager [102d] . The determination of at least one tag is based on the at least one entity. The identification manager [102d] may analyze all the records of the contact application to determine at least one tag. The analysis of all the records of the contact application comprises of processing all the records to determine the records which have “sales manager” in the job description and/or name of the contact. The records are then tagged. For example, the records of “John Sales Manager” and “Mike Sale Manager” may be tagged. Thereafter, the identification manager [102d] may analyze certain the records of a social networking application which have the name “John” and “Mike” to determine the birthday of the records. The identification manager [102d] may then extract the birthday of the records which have the name “John” and “Mike” from the social networking application, for example, “27 th  August” and “18 th September” . The identification manager [102d] may also extract the image of these identified records using image processing from the social networking application.
The invention further encompasses that the determined tags are then linked to the entities sales manager” and “birthday” in the received reminder information. The determined tags of the records of “John Sales Manager” and “Mike Sale Manager” , the birthday of the records which have the name “John” and “Mike” from the social networking application and the extracted images may then be transmitted to the reminder module [102f] .
Thereafter, at least one reminder is generated by the reminder module [102f] dynamically. The reminder is generated based on the reminder information and the at least one tag determined by the identification manager [102d] . The reminder is generated by the reminder module [102e] by processing the at least one tag determined by the identification manager [102d] and adding or replacing the at least one determined tag to the reminder information. That is, the reminders “Wish John Sales Manager on 27 th August” and “Wish Mike Sale Manager on 18 th September” may be generated. The reminders may comprise of the images of John and Mike extracted from the social networking application. The reminders may then be stored in a database [102e] by the reminder module [102e] .
Finally, the reminders are dynamically triggered by the reminder module [102f] . The reminders may be dynamically triggered as an alert to the user by generating a sound or audio, such as a birthday song, on the user device [102] and by displaying a message “Wish John Sales Manager on his birthday 27 th August” with an option to dismiss and delete the reminder. The invention encompasses that the reminder may be dynamically triggered on the date of the birthday.
In an exemplary embodiment, the invention begins when an input is received from user to open a clock application to set a reminder. Thereafter, a reminder information “Servicing the AC before Summer” is received from user by the input unit [102b] to set a reminder. The reminder information is associated with a trigger from the user for alerting the user for a particular task of servicing the AC before Summer season in the reminder information. The input received from the user is then transmitted to the entity manager [102c] .
Upon receipt of the reminder information, at least one entity is identified in the reminder information received from the user by the entity manager [102c] using natural language processing. The entity manager [102c] may identify the entities as “Servicing” , “AC” and “Summer” in the received reminder information.
Thereafter, at least one tag is determined by the identification manager [102d] . The determination of at least one tag is based on the at least one entity. The identification manager [102d] may analyze all the records of a database [102e] to determine at least one tag. The analysis of all the records of the database [120e] comprises of processing all the media stored in the database [102e] to determine at least one entry related to “servicing of AC” . The videos and images comprising to words “servicing” , “maintenance” , “repair” , “Air Conditioner” and “AC” , determined using artificial intelligence, are then tagged. For example, the video of an advertisement relating to a company for “Servicing ACs” may be tagged. In another example, an image of company for “repair of Air Conditioners” may be tagged” . The identification manager [102d] may then extract the relevant frames of the videos and images tagged in the records of the database [102e] . The invention further encompasses that the determined tags are then linked to the entities “servicing” and “AC” in the received reminder information. The determined tags are then be transmitted to the reminder module [102f] .
That is, the reminders “Servicing the AC before Summer by XYZ Company” may be generated, along with the determined frame of a video or image of the Company. The reminders may also comprise of the details of the Company extracted from the video or image, using image processing. The reminders may then be stored in a database [102e] by the reminder module [102e] .
Finally, the reminders are dynamically triggered by the reminder module [102f] . The reminders may be dynamically triggered as an alert to the user by generating a sound or audio on the user device [102] and by displaying a message “Servicing the AC by XYZ Company” with an option to dismiss and delete the reminder.  The invention encompasses that the reminder may be dynamically triggered in the Month of March before the summer season starts.
As evident from the above description, the present disclosure provides for a method and system for triggering intelligent reminders in a user device. The present invention further provides for intelligently generating a meaningful reminder using the details stored in various applications and database. Particularly, the present invention provides for a mechanism that processes an input received from the user to suggest meaningful and intelligent reminder that may be triggered dynamically. Hence, the present invention results in significant technical advancement over the prior art systems which only provide for a static reminder system that triggers a reminder when the time for the reminder matches with the clock.
The units, interfaces, modules, and/or components depicted in the figures and described herein may be present in the form of a hardware, a software and a combination thereof. Connection/sshown between these units/components/modules/interfaces in the exemplary system architecture may interact with each other through various wired links, wireless links, logical links and/or physical links. Further, the units/components/modules/interfaces may be connected in other possible ways.
While considerable emphasis has been placed herein on the disclosed embodiments, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that many changes can be made to the embodiments disclosed herein without departing from the principles and scope of the present invention.
