Abstract
La présente invention concerne de manière générale une solution d'architecture flexible ou souple d'un système à hôte et dispositif de stockage de données. L'hôte se voit accorder différents niveaux intermédiaires de responsabilité de la gestion de mémoire. Les différents niveaux d'implication de l'hôte dans la gestion de mémoire du dispositif de mémoire se situent n'importe où entre une solution d'espace de noms zoné (ZNS) existante et une solution de canal ouvert. Le dispositif de stockage de données offre au dispositif hôte un choix d'options de gestion de mémoire spécifiques. Le dispositif hôte choisit ensuite le niveau de gestion de mémoire souhaité et configure le dispositif de stockage de données pour se conformer au choix de gestion de mémoire. Ainsi, le dispositif hôte commande le compromis entre temps système du dispositif hôte pour la gestion de mémoire et flexibilité du dispositif hôte.
