Detailed reference will now be made to one or more potential embodiments of the disclosure, which are illustrated in Figures 1 through 3.
The conversation starting method 100 (hereinafter invention) is a method for initiating a conversation. The invention 100 is configured for use with a plurality of social media sites 107. The invention 100 is adapted for use with a first client 161 selected from a plurality of clients 106 and a second client 162 selected from the plurality of clients 106. Each client selected from the plurality of clients 106 participates in one or more social media activities that are accessed through the one or more social media sites selected from the plurality of social media sites 107. The invention 100 comprises a match suggestion method 101, an interest confirmation method 102, an availability identification method 103, a mutual availability notification method 104, and a contact initiation method 105.
The invention 100 describes a sequential process. By sequential process is meant that: a) the match suggestion method 101 is completed before the initiation of the interest confirmation method 102; b) the interest confirmation method 102 is completed before the initiation of the availability identification method 103; c) the availability identification method 103 is completed before the initiation of the mutual availability notification method 104; and, d) the mutual availability notification method 104; and, d) mutual availability notification method 104 is completed before the initiation of the contact initiation method 105.
The terms client and social media site are defined elsewhere in this disclosure. Both the first client 161 and the second client 162 communicate with the plurality of social media sites 107 through the use of a personal data device 163. A personal data device 163 is a programmable electrical device that provides data management and communication services through one or more functions referred to as an application. The application is a set of logical operating instructions that are performed by the personal data device 163. The addition of an application will provide increased functionality for the personal data device 163. The personal data device 163 is used by the first client 161 and the second client 162 to access the plurality of social media sites 107.
The match suggestion method 101 is the method used by the invention 100 that identifies the first client 161 and the second client 162 selected from the plurality of clients 106 to have a conversation. The match suggestion method 101 is implemented using methods that include, but are not limited to: a) using a common acquaintance 111; b) using a matching service 112; and, c) through self-introduction 113.
The use of a common acquaintance 111 means that a person that is known to both the first client 161 and the second client 162 suggests that the first client 161 and the second client 162 should have a conversation.
The use of a matching service 112 means that a social media site selected from the plurality of social media sites 107 has identified the first client 161 and the second client 162 as compatible. By compatible is meant that there is a high probability that the first client 161 and the second client 162 would: a) want to have a conversation; and, b) would enjoy having a conversation. The use of a self-introduction 113 means that the first client 161 can directly request that the invention 100 arrange a conversation with the second client 162.
The interest confirmation method 102 is the method used by the invention 100 that gains the approval of the first client 161 and the second client 162 to schedule and arrange the conversation. The interest confirmation method 102 comprises: a) making an introduction 121, b) expressing interest 122, and c) confirming interest 123.
The process of making an introduction 121 comprises: a) that the invention 100 contact the first client 161 to propose that the first client 161 have a conversation with the second client 162; and, b) that the invention 100 contact the second client 162 to propose that the second client 162 have a conversation with the first client 161.
The process of expressing interest 122 comprises that a client selected from the group consisting of the first client 161 and the second client 162 agrees to have the conversation.
The process of confirming interest 123 comprises that the unselected client remaining in the group consisting of the first client 161 and the second client 162 also agrees to have the conversation.
The availability identification method 103 is the method used by the invention 100 that identifies when the first client 161 and the second client 162 are simultaneously available to have the conversation. The availability identification method 103 is implemented using methods that include, but are not limited to: a) mutual agreement 131 between the first client 161 and the second client 162; b) using a scheduling application comparison 132; and, c) monitoring social media activity 133.
The use of a mutual agreement 131 means that the first client 161 and the second client 162 privately agree to a scheduled date and time to have their conversation.
The use of a scheduling application comparison 132 means that the invention 100: a) compares a calendaring application 142 used by the first client 161 with a calendaring application 142 used by the second client 162; to, b) identify a date and time when both the first client 161 and the second client 162 are available to have their conversation.
The use of monitoring social media activity 133 means that the invention 100 tracks the social media usage of both the first client 161 and the second client 162. When the invention 100 finds that the first client 161 and the second client 162 are simultaneously active on social media, the invention 100 will invite both the first client 161 and the second client 162 to immediately have their conversation.
The mutual availability notification method 104 is the method used by the invention 100 that notifies the first client 161 and the second client 162 that they are both available to have the conversation. The mutual availability notification method 104 is implemented using methods that include, but are not limited to: a) using social media messaging 141; b) using a calendaring application 142; and, c) using a meeting invitation 143.
The use of social media messaging 141 means that the invention 100 uses social media messaging 141 to communicate the scheduled date and time for a conversation to either or both the first client 161 and the second client 162. The term social media messaging 141 is defined elsewhere in this disclosure.
The calendaring application 142 means that the invention 100 directly enters the scheduled date and time for a conversation into the calendaring application of either or both the first client 161 and the second client 162.
The meeting invitation 143 means that the invention 100 uses a communication channel not associated with social media, such as email or SMS messaging, to communicate the scheduled date and time for a conversation to either or both the first client 161 and the second client 162.
The contact initiation method 105 is the method used by the invention 100 that establishes the communication link that allows the first client 161 and the second client 162 to physically have the conversation. The contact initiation method 105 is implemented using methods that include, but are not limited to: a) using a chatroom 151; b) through personal contact 152; and, c) using social media messaging 141.
The use of a chatroom 151 refers to the use of a social media structure that allows the first client 161 and the second client 162 to privately meet within the interface structure of a social media site. The chatroom 151 is defined elsewhere in this disclosure.
The use of personal contact 152 means that the first client 161 and the second client 162 have privately agreed to meet in person at a specified location.
The use of social media messaging 141 is described elsewhere in this disclosure.
The following X paragraphs describe the best mode of using the invention 100.
In the best mode, the applicant anticipates that the personal data device 163 comprises a plurality of interfaces 164. The personal data device 163 will present the plurality of interfaces 164 to a client selected from the group consisting of the first client 161 and the second client 162.
