As shown in FIGs. 1 to 3, the two side impact protection devices 12 are pivotally connected to the two lateral wings 102, respectively, such that one of the two side impact protection devices 12 is operable to rotate between a folded position (as shown in FIGs. 1 and 2) and an expanded position (as shown in FIG. 3) with respect to the corresponding lateral wing 102. In this embodiment, one of the two lateral wings 102 may have an accommodating recess 104. When the side impact protection device 12 is located at the folded position, the side impact protection device 12 is accommodated in the accommodating recess 104, such that the side impact protection device 12 does not protrude from the lateral wing 102 at the folded position. In this embodiment, the two side impact protection devices 12 may be disposed close to the top of the backrest 100, but the invention is not so limited. The positions of the two side impact protection devices 12 may be determined according to practical applications.
As shown in FIG. 3, a user may install the child safety seat 1 on a vehicle seat (not shown) and rotate the side impact protection device 12 to the expanded position. When the side impact protection device 12 is located at the expanded position, the side impact protection device 12 keeps abutting against a part of the vehicle (e.g. window or door). Once a side impact occurs on the vehicle, the expanded side impact protection device 12 will receive the side impact first and then guide the side impact to the backrest 100 of the seat body 10, so as to reduce the side impact from a child seated in the seat body 10. Accordingly, the child safety seat 1 of the invention can effectively protect the child while the side impact occurs by means of the expanded side impact protection device 12.
As shown in FIG. 3, the side impact protection device 12 has a first side SI and a second side S2, wherein the second side S2 is close to the backrest 100 and the first side SI is opposite to the second side S2. In this embodiment, the first side SI of the side impact protection device 12 is pivotally connected to the lateral wing 102. When the side impact protection device 12 rotates to the expanded position, a height is formed between the second side S2 and the lateral wing 102, such that the side impact protection device 12 abuts against the vehicle through the height. It should be noted
that, in another embodiment, the second side S2 of the side impact protection device 12 may also be pivotally connected to the lateral wing 102, such that the first side SI may rotate to expand or fold the side impact protection device 12. When the side impact protection device 12 rotates to the expanded position, a height is formed between the first side SI and the lateral wing 102. Thus, according to practical applications, one of the first side SI and the second side S2 may be pivotally connected to the lateral wing 102. When the side impact protection device 12 rotates to the expanded position, a height may be formed between the lateral wing 102 and the other one of the first side SI and the second side S2.
Referring to FIGs. 4 and 5, FIG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating the child safety seat 1 according to another embodiment of the invention and FIG. 5 is a perspective view illustrating the child safety seat 1 shown in FIG. 4 from another viewing angle. As shown in FIGs. 4 and 5, the child safety seat 1 may further include a connecting member 14 connecting the two lateral wings 102. In this embodiment, the connecting member 14 may be disposed within or behind the two lateral wings 102 and surrounds the backrest 100. The connecting member 14 may be made of high rigidity material, composite material, or other materials capable of increasing rigidity or strength. The connecting member 14 can increase rigidity of the two lateral wings 102. Therefore, once a side impact occurs on the vehicle, the connecting member 14 can prevent the two lateral wings 102 from deforming due to the side impact, such that a child seated in the seat body 10 will not be thrown out to be injured.
Referring to FIGs. 6 and 7, FIG. 6 is a perspective view illustrating the child safety seat 1 according to another embodiment of the invention and FIG. 7 is a perspective view illustrating the child safety seat 1 shown in FIG. 6 from another viewing angle. As shown in FIGs. 6 and 7, the child safety seat 1 may further include a connecting member 14' connecting the two lateral wings 102. In this embodiment, the connecting member 14' may be disposed above the two lateral wings 102 and the backrest 100. The connecting member 14' may be made of high rigidity material, composite material, or other materials capable of increasing rigidity or strength. The connecting member 14' can increase rigidity of the two lateral wings 102. Therefore, once a side impact occurs on the vehicle, the connecting member 14' can prevent the two lateral wings 102 from deforming due to the side impact, such that a child seated
in the seat body 10 will not be thrown out to be injured.
Referring to FIG. 8, FIG. 8 is a perspective view illustrating the child safety seat 1 according to another embodiment of the invention. As shown in FIG. 8, the child safety seat 1 may further include a connecting member 14" connecting the two lateral wings 102. In this embodiment, the connecting member 14" may be disposed in front of the two lateral wings 102, such that the connecting member 14" may function as a traverse safety belt for increasing rigidity of the two lateral wings 102 and restraining the position of a child seated in the seat body 10. The connecting member 14" may be made of resilient material, or other materials capable of increasing rigidity, and resiliency. Therefore, once a side impact occurs on the vehicle, the connecting member 14" can prevent the two lateral wings 102 from deforming due to the side impact and prevent the child seated in the seat body 10 from being thrown out to be injured.
Referring to FIG. 9 and FIG. 10, FIG. 9 is a schematic view illustrating a safety seat belt 16 and FIG. 10 is a schematic view illustrating a belt fastening member 18 fastening a belt 162 of the safety seat belt 16 shown in FIG. 9 and a vehicle seat belt 30 simultaneously. As shown in FIGs. 9 and 10, the aforesaid child safety seat 1 may further includes a safety seat belt 16 and a belt fastening member 18. As shown in FIG.
9, the safety seat belt 16 is a five-point seat belt, wherein the safety seat belt 16 includes a buckle 160 and five belts 162. It should be noted that the safety seat belt 16 may also be a three-point seat belt according to practical applications. The safety seat belt 16 may be disposed on the seat body 10 of the child safety seat 1 mentioned in the above. The five belts 162 are detachably engaged with the buckle 160 to fasten a child seated in the seat body 10. The belt fastening member 18 shown in FIG. 10 may be disposed on one of the safety seat belt 16 and the seat body 10. As shown in FIG.
10, the belt fastening member 18 may have an engaging groove 180 and a through hole 182. One belt 162 of the safety seat belt 16 may be disposed in the through hole 182 and a vehicle seat belt 30 may be engaged in the engaging groove 180 through an opening 184 of the engaging groove 180, such that the belt fastening member 18 fastens the safety seat belt 16 and the vehicle seat belt 30 simultaneously. Therefore, once a side impact or a traffic accident occurs on the vehicle, a child seated in the seat body 10 can be fastened well through the belt fastening member 18, so as to prevent
the child from injury. It should be noted that the belt fastening member 18 may fasten one or more vehicle seat belts 30 (e.g. shoulder belt of vehicle seat belts or waist belt of vehicle seat belts) according to practical applications.
It should be noted that the side impact protection device 12, the connecting members 14, 14', 14" and the belt fastening member 18 mentioned in the above may be applied to the child safety seat 1 individually or in any combination according to practical applications.
As mentioned in the above, the child safety seat of the invention may be selectively equipped with the side impact protection device, the connecting member and/or the belt fastening member, so as to effectively protect a child seated in the child safety seat while a side impact occurs.
The foregoing are only preferred embodiments of the invention while the protection scope thereof is not limited to the above description. Any change or substitution within the technical scope disclosed by the invention should be covered by the protection scope of the invention.
