Abstract
The invention relates to a formulation in the form of a solution, comprising ammonium acetate, ammonium carbonate, egg white, egg yolk, tartrazine, and glycerol, in particularly for killing Mediterranean fruit fly using at least one natural substance for use in agricultural areas such as gardens, greenhouses, fields.
Description
A MASS TRAPPING FORMULATION FOR CONTROLLING MEDITERRANEAN FRUIT FLY
Technical Field
The invention relates to a formulation comprising ammonium acetate and ammonium carbonate, in particularly for targeting Mediterranean fruit flies using synergic substances such as egg white, egg yolk and tartrazine.
Prior Art
Currently, compounds containing various harmful chemicals are available to control the Mediterranean fruit fly. There are many different trapping mechanisms used for the Mediterranean fruit fly.
In the patent document no. US5907923, a trap is mentioned for monitoring and/or controlling the populations of fruit-eating insects using a food-based chemical stimulant. In said document, use of this trap for the Mediterranean fruit fly is disclosed. Said chemical ingredient includes harmful chemicals and does not only target the Mediterranean fruit fly.
Chemicals disclosed in other documents include toxic insecticide substances.
Brief Description of the Invention:
The object of the invention is to achieve a trapping mechanism in the solution form containing various natural substances, in particularly for targeting the Mediterranean fruit fly. There are no harmful substances such as pesticides in the substances used in the trapping mechanism. Compared to the trapping mechanism used in the other techniques, the cost of the liquid composition used in the invention is also very economical.
Detailed Description of the Invention:
The invention relates to a lethal solution specifically targeted for the Mediterranean fruit fly using at least one natural substance.
A formulation in the form of a solution according to the invention comprises 5 to 150 g/L of ammonium acetate, 0.01 to 15 g/L of ammonium carbonate, 0.001 to 15 ml/L of glycerol (glycerin), 0.001 to 10 g/L of tartrazine, 5 to 50 g/L of egg yolk, and 2-25 g/L of albumin (egg white).
Said substances contained in the solution of the invention are natural substances and have no harmful effects on human health. In other words, it does not contain any harmful pesticide. It contains natural substances such as egg white, egg yolk and tartrazine. There is no toxic chemical in the solution. In addition, the solution contains glycerin which delays vaporization. This allows the natural substance-containing liquid to be used in nature for a longer time. This liquid solution substantially attracts only Mediterranean fruit fly. Therefore, damage to other non-target insects, especially beneficial insects, is prevented.
A trapping mechanism containing liquid solution is placed in containers of various sizes and located in agricultural areas such as gardens, greenhouses, fields with Mediterranean fruit fly population. The solution mixture of the present invention is placed and sealed in each trapping container, preferably in at least one bottle, in the amount of 100 ml to 750 ml, and placed at once on a plant or branches of a plant. Thus, the attractant in the solution is allowed to vaporize and mix into the air by leaving the holes on the side of the container. Thus, the flies are enabled to enter the container by following the smell after they perceive the smell. The smell that is obtained as a result of the formulation attracts only the Mediterranean fruit fly. The flies entering the container, preferably the bottle, can never leave the container because of this trapping mechanism. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said amount is 500 ml. Thus, at least one trapping container of 100 ml to 750 ml of the solution mixture is used in the invention. Preferably, at least one trapping container containing 500 ml of the solution mixture is used in the invention.
Accordingly, the flies are caught in mass, and the Mediterranean fruit fly is controlled and killed.
The invention is not limited to the above examples, and a technical person can easily suggest different other uses of the invention. These should be considered within the scope of the invention.
