Abstract

The present invention relates to cleaning devices and more particularly relates to a portable hand held washer. A portable hand held dish washing device (100) comprises a housing, wherein all of three parts are sealed using plastic ultra-sonic welding process to integrate into a single unit and an applicator head (13) attached to the housing (10) at its face, the applicator head (13) comprising of a plurality of connecting gears (24) attached to a plurality of rotating shafts (26), a base cover (27) and a plurality of applicator seats (14) holding applicators. The applicator head (13) has three discs that rotate in opposite directions in swivel movement and opposite directional scrubbing leads to faster scrubbing/cleaning output. The applicators (14) are any one of the material selected from scrubber, sponge, abrasive pad, brush for cleaning the surface of the utensils.

Description

PORTABLE HAND HELD WASHER
Field of the invention:
The present invention relates to cleaning devices and more particularly relates to a portable hand held washer.
Background of the invention:
The manual method of cleaning the kitchen utensils involves physical efforts of rubbing the surface with a proper scrubber, soap solution and water. To address the demerits of the manual method of cleaning a plenty of automated dish washers are available in the field. However the dish washers functioning automatically they consume electricity and huge amount of water during the wash and rinse cycles also require a permanent space for storage. Also these machines may not be efficient in cleaning and a pre wash has to be made before stalking the utensils into the machines. Normally the individuals those who are constantly on the move won’t be able to accommodate the automatic dish washers and has to adopt the conventional method of cleaning by using the sponges, brushes, scrubbers etc. This practices would be time consuming also quite hard on and irritating to the skin on their hands.
One of the prior art US 7469703 B2 discloses a motorized stain-removal brush with replaceable head. The brush comprises a handle having a motor disposed therein, a head having a longitudinal axis, and a neck disposed between the handle and the head. The brush further comprising a head driving assembly that transmits motion from the motor to the coupling head by means of shafts and gears that connects with a replaceable bristle holder.
Another prior art KR20070078299A discloses an electric scrubbing device having a body, an installing unit for a brush that can be attached or detached to/from the body and is rotated by a rotating means. The body includes a grip formed by bending some rear part of the body at a predetermined angle and a cover. The rotating means includes a motor embedded in the body, a sun gear coupled to the end of the motor, a plurality of planetary gears provided between the sun gear and an inner gear, a planetary gear plate coupled to the rear end of the coupling shaft, wherein the planetary gears are rotatably fitted to each other and a battery for supplying power to the motor.
Accordingly, there exists need to provide a portable and hand held washer that can overcome the drawbacks of the existing technologies and prior art. The present invention is intended to replace the conventional dish brush/cloth/sponge/scrubber for manual cleaning conventionally used for this practice.
Objects of the invention:
An object of the present invention is to provide a washer that can particularly be useful for washing the dishes, kitchen utensils, tiles and scrub other peripheral objects.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a portable, easy to operate and economical washer that consumes lesser storage space.
Yet another object of the present invention is allowing easy, automatic and fast cleaning of the utensils and dishes investing least amount of manual efforts.
Summary of the invention:
Accordingly, the present invention provides a portable hand held dish washing device. The device includes a housing and an applicator head holding a plurality of applicators. The housing includes a first part forming a top body, a second part forming a bottom body and a third part forming a front fascia of the device and all three parts are sealed using plastic ultra-sonic welding process to integrate into a single unit. Specifically, the housing is made of plastic with rubber coating at top and bottom thereof. The housing has a hollow and conical configuration to accommodate all electrical and mechanical components like a control switch, a Printed Circuit Board (PCB), a battery, a plurality of gear units, a main shaft and a motor configured therein such that the control switch is arranged within the hole provided at the housing and is operably attached to the PCB and the battery. The battery provides sufficient power to the device and the control switch drives the electric circuitry when the button switched to "ON" position, so that the PCB drives the motor which in turn drives the gear mechanism causing movement of the applicators one in counter clockwise and two of them in clockwise direction in swivel movement for cleaning the glasses, bottles, tiles and to remove oil and grime from surfaces of utensils, and other objects.
The applicator head is attached to the housing at its face. The applicator head comprises of a plurality of connecting gears attached to a plurality of rotating shafts, a base cover and a plurality of applicator seats holding applicators. The applicator seats are made of plastic attaches applicator adhesively. The third part comprises a connecting seat for the applicator head for fixation of different applicators. The applicator head has three discs that rotate in opposite directions and opposite directional scrubbing leads to faster scrubbing/cleaning output. The applicators are any one of the material selected from scrubber, sponge, abrasive pad, brush for cleaning the surface of the utensils.
The plurality of gear units includes a sun gear, a reduction gear assembly, and a triangular sun gear. The sun gear is attached to the motor shaft and is meshed with the reduction gear assembly. The reduction gear assembly includes three gears coupled to the triangular sun gear, and the triangular sun gear drives the main shaft that is coupled to the connecting gears. In accordance with the present invention, the connecting gears comprise at least 8 gears arranged in “T” shape forms a planetary gear system such that the middle gear comes in contact with the main shaft and the gears located at the edges comprise of threaded inserts that form the rotating shafts that protrude through the base cover and attach to the applicator seat so that the connecting gears distribute the torque received from the main shaft into 3 rotating shafts and provide required torque for the applicator seat to rotate in their axis.
In accordance with the present invention, the triple head attachment comprises a coupler, a base, a driving shaft, a connecting gear, driving gears including a main driving gear, a bottom gear and two side gears. The main driving gear is rotated via the coupler and the driving gear drives the connecting gear in CW direction and further connecting gear and shaft and rotate in CCW direction, thereby creating rotating gear and shafts and one of them rotates in an opposite direction creating multiplying effect for scrubbing and polishing. The single head attachment has a series of two gears and that is used to drive the bottle brush attachment and the gear is the driving shaft connected to the main motor via the coupler and it rotates the gear in clockwise direction.

Detailed description of the invention:
The foregoing objects of the invention are accomplished and the problems and shortcomings associated with prior art techniques and approaches are overcome by the present invention described in the present embodiments.
The present invention provides a handheld dishwashing device that allows joining different scrubbing attachments for different purposes like cleaning dishes, kitchen utensils, tiles and any other peripheral objects. The handheld dishwashing device is light in weight, portable and is automatic in operation, requiring least manual efforts for cleaning a surface.
The present invention is illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings, throughout which reference numbers indicate corresponding parts in the various figures. These reference numbers are shown in bracket in the following description. Referring to figures from 1 to 6, a portable hand held dish washer (100) (herein after referred to as “the device (100)”) in accordance with the present invention is shown. The device (100) comprises of housing (10), an applicator head (13) holding a plurality of applicators (14) (herein after referred to as “the applicators
(14)”).
The housing (10) has a hollow and conical configuration to accommodate all the electrical and mechanical components therein. The housing (10) is made of three parts such as a first part (11a) forming a top body, a second part (lib) forming a bottom body and a third part (11c) forming a front fascia of the device (100) and all of three parts are integrated into a single unit. In a specific embodiment, all of three parts are sealed using plastic ultra-sonic welding process.
The first part (11a) and the second part (lib) are ultra sonic welded together to provide a water proof effect. The third part (11c) is attached to the first part (11a) and the second part (lib) by means of screws (not numbered). The third part (11c) comprises of a gasket (12) made of rubber to seal the joint and prevent water from seeping into the housing (10). The third part (11c) comprises a connecting seat for the applicator head (13) for fixation of different applicators (13). In an embodiment, the housing (10) is made of plastic with rubber coating
(15) at top and bottom thereof.
The housing (10) comprises of a control switch (16), a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) (17), a battery (18), a plurality of gear units, a main shaft (19) and a motor (20) configured therein. The control switch (16) is arranged within the hole provided at the housing (10) and is operably attached to the PCB (17) and the battery (18). The control switch (16) drives the electric circuitry when the button switched to "ON" position. The PCB (17) drives the motor (20) and is adapted for maintaining the torque: rpm ratio and a constant voltage to the motor, thus ensuring safety of the motor (20). The PCB (17) performs a voltage control using PWM (Pulse width modulation) technique.
The applicator head (13) is attached to the housing (10) at its face. The applicator head (13) comprises of a plurality of connecting gears (24) (herein after referred to as “the connecting gears (24)”) attached to a plurality of rotating shafts (26) (herein after referred to as “the rotating shaft (26)”, a base cover (27) and a plurality of applicator seats (14) holding applicators. In a specific embodiment, the applicator seats (14) are made of plastic attaches applicator adhesively. In an exemplary embodiment, the applicators are attached to the applicator seats (14) by datable adhesive means such as Velcro.
The plurality of gear units include a sun gear (21), a reduction gear assembly (22), and a triangular sun gear (23). The sun gear (21) is attached to the motor shaft (not numbered) and is meshed with the reduction gear assembly (22). Thus connecting gears (24) distribute the torque received from the main shaft (19) into 3 rotating shafts (26) and provide required torque for the applicator seat (14) to rotate in their axis. The rotating shafts (26) protrude through the base cover (27) and attach to the applicator seat (14).
In a preferred embodiment, the applicator (14) is scrubber. In alternative embodiments, the applicators (14) are any one of the material selected from sponge, abrasive pad, brush and like. In the embodiment, three abrasive pads are present at the applicator head (13). The applicators (14) are provided for cleaning the surface of the utensils.
The applicator head (13) design and components inside are varied according to the purpose of the device. When a replacement is necessary to use a different kind of applicator, the applicator head (13) can be easily pulled out from the housing (10) making room for a new applicator head (13) suitable for the application.
In an alternative embodiment, referring to figure 6, the device (100) is provided with an applicator head (13) having a single rotating shaft (26) and a brush as the applicator.
In an embodiment, the battery (18) is a re-chargeable battery that operates the device (100) when fully charged. The battery (18) is provided with an external charging pod. In a specific embodiment, the battery (18) is 3.6 V 2000mAh and the motor rotates with a speed of 6000 to 8000rpm. The sun gear (21), reduction gear assembly (22), triangular sun gear (23) and main shaft (19) altogether reduce the speed of motor into 160-180 rpm.
Now referring to figure 7 to 9, in an alternate embodiment, various views of a triple head attachment (50) of the device (100) are shown. The triple head attachment (50) comprises a coupler (35), a base (30), a driving shaft (34), a connecting gear (36), driving gears (38) including a main driving gear (38A), a bottom gear (38B) and two side gears (38C, 38D). The triple head attachment (50) is a unique approach to scrubbing, wherein one disc (44) rotates in the opposite direction to create a multiplying effect. The way the disc (44) fits with the rotating gears (38) is via a protruding square shaft that is co-moulded onto the plastic gear. Gear layout equally transmits torque to three shafts (40). The design is such that we have only 2 gear sizes to make the entire system work. The base (30) of the attachment (50) has pockets for lubrication and sound isolation. The triple head attachment (50) gear layout design helps create the unique triple scrubbing action. The main driving gear 38A) is rotated via the coupler (35). The main driving gear (38 A) rotates in counter clock wise (CCW) and thus drives the bottom gear (38B) and its shaft in clock wise (CW) direction. In an alternate manner, the driving gear (38B) drives the connecting gear (36) in CW direction and further connecting gear and shaft (38C) and (38D) rotate in CCW direction. This created 3 rotating gear and shafts (38B, 38C, 38D) and one of them (38B) rotates in an opposite direction creating multiplying effect for scrubbing, polishing etc.
The attachment system is a 3 step process. The male legs (51) go into the female slots (52) and then it turns around the central axis (53) and locks when it reaches at end position thereof with the help of male protrusion (54) and female depression (55). The attachment coupler (56) and main body coupler (57) are designed to engage with ease and transfer the rotary action from the motor to the attachment system.
Now referring to figure 10, in an alternate embodiment, a single head attachment (60) of the device (100) is shown. The single head attachment (60) has a series of two gears (63) and (64) that is used to drive the bottle brush attachment. The gear (63) is the driving shaft connected to the main motor via the coupler (36) and it rotates the gear (64) in clockwise direction.
In another embodiment, another single head attachment is possible which can have variations. First variation has the plastic disc with copper scrubber, the second variation has the plastic disc with cone-shaped bristles, wherein the central bristle is longest and the bristles outside are shorter to form a cone to fit into corners, the third variation has is bristle brush having plastic disc with same height of the bristles. All these three variations are used to scrub different kind of surfaces.
By referring to the figures from 1 to 9, in an operation of the device (100), the battery (18) provides sufficient power to the device (100) and turn ON the PCB (17), which in turn drives the motor (20). The motor (20) drives the gear mechanism causing movement of the applicators one in counter clockwise and two of them in clockwise direction. The device (100) is a solution to dishwashers, but also it is useful for cleaning the glasses, bottles, tiles and to remove oil and grime from surfaces of utensils, and other objects which may not always be possible with the dishwasher.
Advantages of the invention:
1. The handheld dishwashing device (100) is portable, light in weight and economically cheaper compared to existing dishwashing technologies.
2. The handheld dishwashing device (100) is easy in operation, automatic and allowing faster cleaning of utensils and dishes requiring minimum manual efforts and less time.
3. The device (100) supports multiple attachments useful for different scrubbing and polishing purposes.
4. The device is multi-purpose, that attachment system makes it easy to use for different scrubbing purposes.
5. The device (100) is not just an economical solution to dishwashers, but it is a scrubber that can be used to remove oil and grime from surfaces of utensils and other objects which may not always be possible in the dishwasher, for example: A barbeque grill is something that is too big to go into the dishwasher, or the Oven in the kitchen after baking needs a scrubbing and this can be easily cleaned with minimum effort using our portable electric scrubber.
6. The rotation of the applicators in different direction provides a strong scrubbing action for the utensils.
7. The device (100) is helps to save time for cleaning surfaces, because it is super-efficient. 8. The device (100) provide through and deeper cleaning compared to other handled devices.
The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the present invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The embodiments were chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the present invention and its practical application, and to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the present invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated. It is understood that various omissions and substitutions of equivalents are contemplated as circumstances may suggest or render expedient, but such omissions and substitutions are intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the scope of the claims of the present invention.

Claims

I claim:
1. A portable hand held dish washing device (100) comprising : a housing (10) having a first part (11a) forming a top body, a second part (lib) forming a bottom body and a third part (11c) forming a front fascia of the device (100), wherein the first part (11a) and the second part (lib) are ultra sonic welded together to provide a water proof effect and the third part (11c) is attached to the first part (11a) and the second part (lib) by means of screws; and an applicator head (13) attached to the housing (10) at its face, the applicator head (13) comprising of a plurality of connecting gears (24) attached to a plurality of rotating shafts (26), a base cover (27) and a plurality of applicator seats (14) holding applicators, wherein the third part (11c) comprises a connecting seat for the applicator head (13) for fixation of different applicators (14); wherein, the housing (10) having a hollow and conical configuration to accommodate all electrical and mechanical components comprising a control switch (16), a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) (17), a battery (18), a plurality of gear units, a main shaft (19) and a motor (20) configured therein such that the control switch (16) is arranged within the hole provided at the housing (10) and is operably attached to the PCB (17) and the battery (18), wherein, the battery (18) provides sufficient power to the device (100) and the control switch (16) drives the electric circuitry when the button switched to "ON" position, so that the PCB (17) drives the motor (20) which in turn drives the the gear mechanism causing movement of the applicators one in counter clockwise and two of them in clockwise direction for cleaning the glasses, bottles, tiles and to remove oil and grime from surfaces of utensils, and other objects; wherein, the applicator head (13) has three discs that rotate in opposite directions in swivel movement and opposite directional scrubbing leads to faster scrubbing/cleaning output.
2. The portable hand held dish washing device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the connecting gears (24) comprise at least 8 gears arranged in “T” shape forms a planetary gear system such that the middle gear comes in contact with the main shaft (19) and the gears located at the edges comprise of threaded inserts that form the rotating shafts (26) that protrude through the base cover (27) and attach to the applicator seat (14) so that the connecting gears (24) distribute the torque received from the main shaft (19) into three rotating shafts (26) and provide required torque for the applicator seat (14) to rotate in their axis.

The portable hand held dish washing device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the triple head attachment (60) comprises a coupler (35), a base (30), a driving shaft (34), a connecting gear (36), driving gears (38) including a main driving gear (38A), a bottom gear (38B) and two side gears (38C, 38D), wherein the main driving gear (38 A) rotates in counter clock wise (CCW) and thus drives the bottom gear (38B) and its shaft in clock wise (CW) direction, thereby creating rotating gear (38B, 38C, 38D) and shafts (40) and one of them (38B) rotates in an opposite direction creating multiplying effect for scrubbing and polishing.
4. The portable hand held dish washing device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the single head attachment (60) has a series of two gears (63) and (64) that is used to drive the bottle brush attachment (22) and the gear (63) is the driving shaft connected to the main motor via the coupler (36) and it rotates the gear (64) in clockwise direction.
5. The portable hand held dish washing device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the housing (10) is made of plastic with rubber coating (15) at top and bottom thereof and the applicator seats (14) are made of plastic attaches applicator adhesively.
6. The portable hand held dish washing device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the applicators (14) are any one of the material selected from scrubber, sponge, abrasive pad, brush for cleaning the surface of the utensils.
