Detailed Description of the Invention
The invention relates to a connection apparatus and a connection method enabling the transfer of electrical energy and/or data needed by the electrically driven components of a toilet bowl (6). More particularly, the invention relates to a connection apparatus and a connection method wherein said connection apparatus is positioned in the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61) on the toilet bowl (6) and enables the electrical energy and/or certain data transmitted from the bottom surface of the toilet bowl (6) to be transferred to the components disposed on the toilet bowl (6) in such a way that no cable is visible to a user and further enables a desired product to be fixed on the toilet bowl (6).
The connection apparatus for enabling the transfer of data and/or energy according to the invention comprises, in its most basic form, at least one electronic component connection slot (11) enabling the transfer of data and/orenergy to the electrically driven components; at least one body (1) on which electronic component connection slot (11) is positioned and which enables the product to be mounted (5) to be fixed on the toilet bowl (6) by contacting said product by its top surface; and at least one cable duct (2) which is located on the body (1) and which passes through the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61) to enable the transfer of data and/or energy to the electronic component connection slot (11) from the bottom part of the toilet bowl (6).
The connection apparatus according to the invention extends to the bottom area of the toilet bowl (6) such that the connection apparatus cable duct (2) will pass through the connection apparatus hole (51) present on the product to be mounted (5) and through the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61) present on the toilet bowl (6) once said product to be mounted (5) has been placed at its position on the toilet bowl (6). In this way, the data and/or energy transfer cables, which are connected at one end thereof to the electronic component connection slot (11), extend inside the cable duct (2) to reach the bottom area of the toilet bowl (6). Said cables are connected to the energy and/or data cables located in the bottom area of the toilet bowl (6) to enable the energy and/or data to be transmitted to the electronic component connection slot (11) and the electrical energy and/or data required by the electrically driven components are transferred by means of the electronic component connection slot (11) to the respective components. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the body (1) has an elliptical geometry capable of tolerating the axial eccentricity between the toilet seat cover mounting holes (61).
The product to be mounted (5) at the same time as the connection apparatus according to the invention is required to be fixed on the toilet bowl (6). Once the connection apparatus cable duct (2) is positioned such that it passes through the connection apparatus hole (51) present on the product to be mounted (5) and through the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61) present on the toilet bowl (6) subsequent to positioning said product to be mounted (5) at its location on the toilet bowl (6), the body (1) of the connection apparatus comes into contact with said product to be mounted (5). Since the connection apparatus cable duct (2) at the same time
passes through the connection apparatus hole (51) present on the product to be mounted (5) and reaches the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61), the product to be mounted (5) becomes also fixed on the toilet bowl (6) in the case where the connection apparatus is fixed in the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61). The connection apparatus includes at least one moving fixing member (3), which enables the body (1) and the cable duct (2) to be fixed in the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61). The moving fixing member (3) is supported on the cable duct
(2) and moves on said cable duct (2) in a direction of approaching or moving away from the body (1). Said movement is achieved owingto the rotation of at least one connection member (4). The moving fixing member (3) comprises at least one moving member nut (31) into which the connection member (4) may penetrate. The moving member nut (31) is supported inside the moving fixing member (3) in a way that it is able to freely rotate inside said moving fixing member (3). The connection member (4) penetrates said moving member nut (31) and enables the moving fixing member (3) to move in a direction of approaching or moving away from the body (1), depending on the rotational movement of said connection member (4). The body (1) includes at least one connection member hole (12), which permits the connection member (4) to pass through to reach the moving member nut (31). The connection member (4) is positioned such that it reaches the moving member nut (31) by passing through the connection member hole (12) present on the body (1), through the connection apparatus hole (51) and through the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61). As a result of the connection member (4) being rotated, the moving member nut (31) moves on the connection member
(4) in a direction of approaching the body (1) and enables the moving fixing member (3) on which it is supported to move together with it in a direction of approaching the body (1). When the moving fixing member (3) reaches a position proximal to the bottom surface of the toilet bowl (6), it rotates around the moving member nut (31) and the moving fixing member vertical surface (32) becomes disposed parallel to the surface of the toilet bowl (6). The moving fixing member (3) comprises at least one connection member duct (33), to which the connection member (4) enters to allow the rotational movement of the moving fixing member
(3) while said connection member (4) is positioned into the moving member nut (31). As a result of the connection member (4) being rotated, the moving fixing member vertical surface (32) comes into contact with the bottom surface of the toilet bowl (6) and the moving fixing member (3) enables the product to be mounted (5) to be fixed on the toilet bowl (6) while said fixing member itself becoming fixed in the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61).
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, two connection apparatuses, each fixed in a respective toilet seat cover mounting hole (61), are used for fixing the product to be mounted
(5) on the toilet bowl (6).
The connection method according to the invention performed with the connection apparatus according to the invention comprises the process steps of
• positioning the product to be mounted (5) on the toilet bowl (6) such that the connection apparatus hole (51) overlaps the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61),
• bringing the moving fixing member (3) into the position at which the moving fixing member vertical surface (32) becomes parallel to the connection member (4),
• passing the cable duct (2) and the moving fixing member (3) supported on said cable duct (2) through first the connection apparatus hole (51) of the product to be mounted (5) and then the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61) in such a way that the body (1) contacts said product to be mounted (5),
• rotating the connection member (4) and making the moving fixing member (3) move on said connection member (4) in a direction of approaching the body (1),
• enabling the moving fixing member (3) to rotate such that the moving fixing member vertical surface (32) is parallel to the bottom surface of the toilet bowl (6), and
• continuing to rotate the connection member (4) until the moving fixing member vertical surface (32) comes into contact with the bottom surface of the toilet bowl (6).
At any step prior to the step of "passing the cable duct (2) and the moving fixing member (3) supported on said cable duct (2) through first the connection apparatus hole (51) of the product to be mounted (5) and then the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61) in such a way that the body (1) contacts said product to be mounted (5)", the connection member (4) passes through the connection member hole (12) present on the body (1) and is positioned in the moving member nut (31) supported on the moving fixing member (3) that is supported on the cable duct (2).
With the connection apparatus and connection method for enabling the transfer of data and/or energy according to the invention, the electrical energy required by the electrically driven components and/or the data provided by various sensors is/are transferred to said components by the connection apparatus according to the invention, which is fixed to the toilet seat cover mounting hole (61), from the bottom area of the toilet bowl (6), thereby the problems caused by the transmission of energy and/or data via a cable harness from behind the toilet bowl (6) are eliminated.
