本実施形態に係る化粧支援方法によれば、上述の化粧支援装置を実施した場合と同様の効果が得られる。具体的には、上述のように、エリア４１（塗布エリア４１Ａ、４１Ｂ）を検出し、該エリア４１（塗布エリア４１Ａ、４１Ｂ）に関連付けられた情報（エリア関連情報）５０を表示することにより、ユーザーＰは表示されたエリア関連情報５０に従って塗布動作（または化粧動作）を行うことができる（図８、図９参照）。そして、エリア関連情報５０として化粧料の塗布の状況を示す情報（ガイド情報５１、５２等のエリア関連情報５０）を表示することにより、ユーザーＰはエリア関連情報５０に従って塗布動作を行うことで、エリア４１（塗布エリア４１Ａ、４１Ｂ）に対して適切な化粧料の塗布を行うことができる（図８、図９参照）。
