Abstract

A buoy system includes a hull configured to operate proximate the surface of a body of water. The hull comprises at least one sealed compartment therein. A mooring device deployable on the bottom of the body of water is connected to the hull by a tether. A flexible conduit and/or cable is extensible from the hull and is connectible to at least one of a device on the bottom of the body of water and a platform on the surface of the body of water. At least two independent energy generating devices for converting energy from motion in the body of water are mounted onto at least one of the buoy, the mooring device and the tether.
