Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Brillenfassung Method for manufacturing a spectacle frame
Technisches Gebiet Technical area
The invention relates to a method for producing a spectacle frame with a frame provided with a coating and curved in its final shape with respect to the frame plane, which frame is milled from a prefabricated plate-shaped plastic body with a curvature determined by the curvature of the frame in its final shape.
Stand der Technik State of the art
In order to be able to manufacture spectacle frames from plastic in a comparatively simple manner, it is known to mill the frame from a flat plastic plate. The frame angle and any additional curvature of the frame in the direction of the forward inclination are taken into account by thermal deformation of the milled frame. Cellulose acetate is particularly suitable as the plastic for this purpose. The main disadvantage of this production of spectacle frames is that due to the thermal deformation, the dimensional stability of the curved frame cannot meet higher requirements.
It is already known from WO 2015/155672 A1 to mill the frame of a spectacle frame from a prefabricated, arched, plate-shaped plastic body. However, the curvature determined by the curvature of the frame in its final shape is not achieved by injection molding the plastic, but rather by thermoplastic deformation of a flat plastic body, possibly produced by injection molding. The bulging of the plastic body is, however, dependent on the thermoplastic deformation properties of the plastic, so that it is known Process can only be used in conjunction with appropriate plastics.
In addition, the usual coatings of the spectacle frames milled from plate-shaped plastic bodies can only be applied with certain methods due to the requirements imposed by the spectacle frames themselves, which represents a further limitation of the manufacturing process.
Darstellung der Erfindung Presentation of the invention
The invention is therefore based on the object of producing a spectacle frame made of plastic with a milled frame in such a way that a high degree of dimensional stability can be ensured for the frame with a low-cost manufacturing method, with extensive freedom in terms of the choice of the plastic or the Coating.
Based on a method of the type described above, the invention solves the problem in that the plate-shaped plastic body is prefabricated as a multi-layer injection-molded part with a curvature determined by the curvature of the frame in its final shape and provided with the intended coating before milling.
As a result of this measure, the frame does not have to be bent out of a flat frame surface after it has been milled to adapt to the anatomical conditions of the spectacle wearer, but is milled from a plastic body produced by injection molding, which is already curved according to the anatomical requirements, the frame already has after the milling process to its final spatial shape. The frame outline shape can be different because the same anatomical requirements apply to the different frame outline shapes. This means that, due to the prefabrication, arched, plate-shaped plastic bodies with eyeglass frames in accordance with the anatomical requirements differently designed frame outline shapes can be milled so that plate-shaped plastic bodies for different spectacle frames can be prefabricated with an injection molding tool. Due to the curvature of the prefabricated plate-shaped plastic body, a five-axis milling machine is required for milling the frame.
The frames milled from a suitably prefabricated plastic body have a significantly higher dimensional stability than frames that are only thermally bent out of the frame plane after milling due to the curvature already taken into account during the injection molding of the plastic body. In addition, when frames are made from plastic bodies prefabricated with a corresponding curvature, there is no need to take into account the material-related requirements for subsequent thermal deformation. This means that materials can be used for the frames produced according to the invention which were previously unsuitable for the setting of such spectacle frames. For example, a polyamide can be used as the material for a layer of the plastic body. The multilayer nature of the plastic body not only makes it possible to use different plastics, but also to combine plastics with other materials, for example by back-molding fabric, foils and the like.
Due to the fact that there is no subsequent thermal deformation of the milled frame, it is also possible to provide the plate-shaped plastic body with a coating intended for the frame before milling the frame, which not only simplifies the coating process, but also Coatings allowed that can only be applied over a larger area. For example, it would be possible to provide the plate-shaped plastic body prefabricated with a curvature with a dip coating and a mirror coating, which allows surface effects as they are known for sun glasses.

Wege zur Ausführung der Erfindung Ways of Carrying Out the Invention
The plate-shaped plastic body 1 produced in multiple layers in the injection molding process has an essentially rectangular basic shape with connecting webs 2 formed in the corner areas, via which the plastic body 1 can be held by milling. As can be seen in particular from FIG. 2, the plastic body 1 has a thickening in a central section 3, which comes to lie in the area of the later nose bridge 4 of a frame 5 of an eyeglass frame to be milled from the plastic body 1, as shown in phantom in FIG Fig. 1 is indicated.
Compared to a mounting plane 6 determined by an extension of the nose bridge 4, the arched plastic body 1 has a mounting disk angle a for the frame 5 to be milled due to its curvature. In addition, a frame curvature in the direction of the forward inclination of the spectacle frame can also be taken into account by a corresponding curvature of the plastic body 1 in the transverse direction, as can be seen in FIG. 3.
Before an eyeglass frame is milled out of the plastic body 1 manufactured by injection molding, the plastic body 1 is provided with a coating which determines the surface of the eyeglass frame milled from the plastic body. This is possible because, due to the curvature of the plastic body 1, a subsequent deformation of the frame 5 milled from the plastic body 1 is no longer necessary and therefore a stress on the surface layer otherwise caused by the deformation is avoided. Due to the curvature adapted to certain anatomical requirements of an average spectacle wearer and the thickness profile adapted to the strength requirements, the prefabricated plastic body 1 enables a particularly advantageous production of the frames 5 of spectacle frames because these frames 5 can be milled from the plastic body 1 with different contour shapes, without having to be reworked, in particular with regard to their spatial shape.
The multilayer nature of the injection-molded plastic body 1 makes it possible, among other things, to back-inject, for example, a printed film, a fabric or other layer materials with a non-thermoplastic plastic itself.
