Definitions

  • the present invention relates to endotracheal tubes, and more particularly to a coating system for sterility enhancement of endotracheal tube during intubation
  • a tracheal tube is a flexible tube made of PVC that is inserted into the patient's trachea at the beginning of the anesthesia process, which aims to create and maintain a safe airway for the patient so that the gas exchange occurs properly in the anesthetized patient.
  • Various types of this device are designed for different situations.
  • a tracheal tube is used to deliver air oxygen and other anesthetic gases to the patient and excrete respiratory waste gases.
  • a tracheal tube is usually used to manage the patient's airway in general anesthesia, critical care, mechanical ventilation, and emergencies.

  • One of the problems that may occur during the anesthesia process in patients with the tracheal tube under mechanical ventilation which we aim to eliminate with the present invention, is the infection of the trachea and lungs due to the contact of the external surface of the tracheal tube with the oropharyngeal secretions when passing the tube through patient's mouth and larynx during intubation process after anesthesia induction.
