Abstract

Recently, the use of renewable energy has become the main focus of energy development in Western Europe, along with the use of nuclear energy. Dozens of different designs have been developed and operate that turn the energy of tides, underwater currents, sea waves, the bulk of which are experimental designs designed to identify the most economically profitable directions for the development of technical thought in this area. Obviously, the main advantages of such designs should be simplicity, reliability and high efficiency. The sea wave is a complex phenomenon, this is probably the main part of the dynamics of the hydrosphere and devices designed to use wave energy cannot be too simple. The interest in using the energy of sea and ocean waves is caused by the enormous power and many billions of MJ of energy possessed by coastal waves. The task of the developer is to ensure the processability of the design in order to reduce the cost and increase reliability compared to other known designs. This useful model solves these problems better than the ones previously presented. In my opinion, the principle of the model will serve as the basis for the promising direction of devices that convert energy waves into shaft rotation energy. The power on the shaft will actually be 100 kW, and it is more advisable to install hundreds of such on one foundation. The design has excellent prospects for improvement.

Description

On Utility Model "COASTAL POWER PLANT ON WAVES"
This device is intended for mechanical conversion of energy of sea or lake wave as drive for rotation of electric generator. I do not know any structures similar in design or principle. The essence of the formula is one or more long shafts up to 800 meters long and more (depending on the parameters of the waves) enclosed in individual casings and installed on a common foundation parallel to each other. Each of the shafts is Independently driven into rotation by ratchet mechanisms fixed on the shaft uniformly along the entire length of the shaft. Each crest of the wave sequentially acts on all ratchets, through spherical floats with a wall of varying thickness , supporting the rotation of the shaft, the distance between the ratchets depends on the terrain and will be 25-50 meters. Since the entire apparatus consists of a plurality of repeating identical portions (assemblies) in the accompanying drawings (Fig. 1) is an exemplary view of one assembly, a cross-sectional view of another assembly on the same shaft, and a schematic drawing showing the operating principle of each assembly (Figure 3). The description of the structural elements (the numbering of the elements in all the drawings is through) is given in the drawing (Fig. 3) the cross section of the shaft drive unit is given:: a vertical rod of average length of 3 meter with a diameter of up to 0, 15 meter is inserted into the casing of the device (unit) where the ratchet is mounted on the shaft, and a pair (ratchet-rod) forms the working unit, its cross section is shown in Fig.3. The casing is a cylindrical pipe with a diameter of 0.3 - 0.7 meters. A ratchet wheel with a diameter of 0.6 - 1.5 meters. Movable (rotary) teeth in the rod slot engage the ratchet when the rod moves upwards. Upward movement of the rod occurs under the action of Archimedean force when the wave crest Is poured on a hollow ball (steel with a wall of varying thickness), downward movement under the Influence of gravity acting on the same ball and rod attached to the ball. In this case, the upward movement of the rod is working (seen in the diagram), the downward movement is idle. The diameter of the ball is 1, 3- -2.5 meters. The author considers the dimensions given to be the most appropriate in the framework of the useful model at the moment. All details related to the assembly technology are not subject to patent protection and are omitted in the drawings. The estimated power on one shaft is 5 - 100 kW. A great advantage is also the ability to manufacture steel pipes for various purposes from mass-produced ones. The foundation can have any design capable of supporting operating units. The disadvantage of the device is the need to lift the drive above the foundation In an automatic mode, in areas where tidal differences are significant. DESIGNATIONS
1-vertical rod with ball-shaped float is inserted into holes in casing
2-Telescopic protection of the casing against water penetration
3-housing (housing) of the unit (device)
4-Ratchet wheel (ratchet)
5-movable (rotary) teeth in slot made in rod
6-ball bearing included In the support (composite) bearing (Fig.2) holding rod in the specified position relative to the ratchet
7-position (location) of one of the two support bearings of the retaining rods (Fig. 2)
