Description
FOLDABLE SAFETY CAP FOR CONTAINERS OF LIQUIDS
Description:
The present invention relates to a composite cap fitted to a suitably shaped bottle, the composite cap providing safety when opening it, so that it is resistant to attempted tampering by children, as well as detachable safety lock for the initial opening. The two cooperating plastic parts that constitute this invention are called Foldable Safety Cap for Containers of Liquids.
Various safety caps are available on the market, however, they have defects and problems, and as a result tampering by children is easy or very difficult. They also have leakage problems and consist of more items and production stages. This patent combines technical excellence, convenience and economy in the final packaging product.
The proposed cap is a composite item, comprised of a cap with two cooperating parts: the subcap of the cap with a nose, which, when screwed, is sealed with the bottle, as well as a foldable overcap, which seals the subcap-nose with a special safety lock. The foldable safety cap, in combination with the bottle connected to it, exhibits excellent safety so that it is not easy to open for children, because it bears special nerves that block the unscrewing of the subcap-nose as well as the refolding of the overcap. The nerves of the foldable overcap can be released from the nerves of the subcap-nose, only when the user presses the special pressure points which are marked on the foldable overcap. On the other hand, the nerves of the subcap-nose cannot be released from the nerves of the bottle. This prevents children from opening the container and makes this container safe to use for filling with dangerous liquids.
Both the foldable safety cap and the bottle connected to it are made entirely of plastic, and in addition to being designed to be childproof, it also provides a second safety lock for the initial opening. The foldable safety cap completely seals the respective bottle, and due to its configuration, it has the ability to supply the liquid to be used through the nose of the subcap.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REGARD TO THE DRAWINGS Fig. 1 shows the invented cap, which consists of three parts, the foldable cap to be used (1), the subcap-nose (2) with the safety lock for the initial opening (16), the safety lock before the initial opening being attached to the subcap-nose (2).
Said cap is designed to be applied to a suitable bottle (3) bearing a specially shaped neck.
In Fig. 2 a detailed description of the technical details of the cap is provided, which form the opening protection mechanism for children.
The protection mechanism is comprised of a safety nerve (13), which is located inside the foldable overcap (1) and fastens to the corresponding outer nerve (14) which is located on the outer upper surface of the subcap (2).
Inside the subcap-nose (2) two nerves (10) are provided for respectively and in a suitable position with (Fig.3) the nerves (9) of the bottleneck (3) to secure the cap during the first screwing on the bottleneck.
After the first screwing, the coil (7) holds the subcap on the bottle, and the nerves (10) in cooperation with the nerves (9) of the bottleneck (3) secure the cap so that unscrewing is impossible, without deformation or destruction of the cap or bottle.
A specially shaped ring (12) is provided for inside the subcap-nose (2), which fits into the inner diameter of the bottleneck (3) while screwing the fodlable safety cap and seals the rim of the neck to prevent liquid from leaking out of the bottle.
The subcap ends in the shape of a nose, which has a hole (11) at its end, for the passage of liquid during use, which in turn seals, from a suitable internal nerve (6), which when folding the overcap (1) enters the hole and prevents any leakage. The folding of the overcap is done with the contribution of the hinge (18) which connects the subcap-nose with the foldable overcap.
Finally, the subcap-nose (2) has on its outer upper surface a safety lock (16) which holds the foldable overcap (1) from the corresponding outer nerve of the overcap (15) and which must be cut off for the initial opening of the container.
In Fig. 3, we observe that the bottleneck bears a special coil (8), as well as two suitable nerves (9) for securing the foldable safety cap. During the production process, the bottle (3) is filled with the liquid to be filled and then the foldable safety cap is screwed, held by the coil (8) and secured on the neck nerves (9) in cooperation with the internal nerves (10) of the subcap-nose (2), thus making unscrewing impossible.
The overcap (1) bears on its outer surface, at equidistant points of it, two curved recesses (17). When attempting to open the overcap (1) of the composite container, the user releases it by pushing them inwards, in order to be able to fold the overcap (1) from the subcap-nose (2) with the contribution of the hinge (18), as the subcap-nose (2) is screwed onto the bottle (3), and use the product.
Finally, in order to release the overcap (1) from the subcap-nose during the initial opening of the composite container, the user must cut off the safety lock for the initial opening (16). This special design achieves the absolute sealing of the overcap (1) on the subcap- nose (2) until the first use, since the subcap-nose (2) is also unbreakably sealed and held on the bottleneck.
In Fig. 4, according to the above-described individual elements of the invention, there is shown how the product can be used for the first time only after the user has cut the safety lock for the initial opening (16) and by pressing the recommended recesses (17) fold the overcap (1) with the contribution of the hinge (18). In this way, the overcap (1) is opened and the subcap-nose (2) is uncovered, which will allow the use of the liquid product contained in the bottle (3).
