- Inter-band CA specified value a method of defining a specified value for EIRP in Inter-band CA in FR2
- FIG. 3 is a diagram summarizing the maximum transmission power regulation for each Power Class of FR2 described in Non-Patent Document 1. As shown in FIG. 3, at present, in FR2, four Power Classes (PC1 to PC4) are defined in the 28 GHz band and the 38 GHz band.
- PC1 to PC4 Power Classes
- the existing specified values do not assume that radio waves are radiated in multiple directions at the same time in the FR2 Inter-band CA.
- the present inventor proposes to newly introduce the specified value regarding EIRP in the Inter-band CA of FR2 based on the existing Power Class specification of FR2.
- each proposal of how to determine the specified value of Max peak EIRP is taken as an example of performing Inter-band CA using two bands of 28 GHz band (first band) and 38 GHz band (second band). To explain.
- Proposal 1 is to measure 28 GHz EIRP at each beam direction measurement point, measure 38 GHz EIRP at each beam direction measurement point, and measure 28 GHz EIRP and 38 GHz EIRP at each beam direction measurement point in a testing machine. The total power of and is calculated, and the maximum value of the total power is set as the specified value. That is, in Plan 1, the 28 GHz beam and the 38 GHz beam are set in the same direction, and a specified value is determined based on the total power of EIRP in each direction.
- the total power limit of each beam in the same direction can be guaranteed. Therefore, it is possible to guarantee that the maximum EIRP limit stipulated in the legal provisions of each country is not exceeded, and even if the maximum EIRP limit is required in a specific area (for example, a hospital), the maximum EIRP limit is set. Can be secured. In addition, since only the total power value in each beam direction is determined, there is a degree of freedom in the distribution of EIRP. Therefore, it is possible to intentionally adjust one beam to a high power according to the distance to the base station to be connected to improve the connectivity.
- Proposal 2 measures 28 GHz EIRP at each beam direction measurement point in a testing machine, measures 38 GHz EIRP at each beam direction measurement point, and sets the maximum value of 28 GHz EIRP and the maximum value of 38 GHz EIRP.
- the total power of is defined as the specified value. That is, Proposal 2 measures 28 GHz EIRP and 38 GHz EIRP at measurement points in each beam direction, and defines them based on the total power of the maximum value of EIRP in each band regardless of the difference in beam direction. Set a value.
- 28 GHz and 38 GHz are measured respectively, and since it does not depend on the difference in beam direction, it is not necessary to grasp the total value of EIRP in the same direction, so it can be simplified as a terminal implementation and the development cost is expected to be reduced. it can. Further, although it does not depend on the difference in the beam direction, since the specified value is determined based on the total power, it is possible to guarantee the total power limit of each beam as in the case of Plan 1.
- Proposal 3 measures 28 GHz EIRP at each beam direction measurement point in the tester, measures 38 GHz EIRP at each beam direction measurement point, and measures the maximum value of 28 GHz EIRP and the maximum value of 38 GHz EIRP. Each is independently defined as a specified value. That is, in Proposal 2, 28 GHz EIRP and 38 GHz EIRP are measured at measurement points in each beam direction, and a specified value is determined based on the maximum value of EIRP in each band regardless of the difference in beam direction. ..
- the terminal since it is based on the maximum value of EIRP in each band regardless of the difference in the beam direction, the terminal can independently perform RF control in each band with respect to EIRP control, so that the terminal is more terminal than the proposal 2. Implementation can be simplified and development costs can be expected to be reduced. In addition, since EIRP is defined independently instead of total power, it is possible to guarantee the minimum EIRP allocation that is desired.
- Proposal 4 measures 28 GHz EIRP at each beam direction measurement point, 38 GHz EIRP at each beam direction measurement point, and further 28 GHz EIRP and 38 GHz at each beam direction measurement point in the testing machine.
- the total power with the EIRP is calculated, the maximum value of the total power is set as the specified value, and the 28 GHz EIRP and the 38 GHz EIRP in the beam direction in which the total power is maximized are also set as the specified values. That is, in Plan 4, the 28 GHz beam and the 38 GHz beam are set in the same direction, and the specified value is determined based on the total power of EIRP in each direction and the single EIRP of each band in the beam direction in which the total power is maximum. ..
- EIRP may be measured by time-division transmission in the band constituting the Inter-band CA.
- the TDD Time Division Duplex
- the test environment for millimeter-wave communication is OTA (Over The Air), and in an environment where multiple frequencies coexist, it may be difficult to measure multiple beams simultaneously emitted from the terminal due to the effects of interference waves and noise.
- OTA Over The Air
- the OTA test environment is different from the Conducted (wired) test environment in which the RF port of the terminal and the measuring instrument, which have been conducted in the Sub6 RF test, are connected by wire to perform the test, and radio waves are transmitted to the real space. It is a measurement system that carries out a radiation test.
- Peak EIRP represents the value that maximizes EIRP around the terminal.
- Min Peak EIRP and Max Peak EIRP represent the minimum and maximum values of Peak EIRP, that is, the range recognized as Peak EIRP as shown below.
- the specified value regarding EIRP in the Inter-band CA of FR2 can be determined in consideration of the case where radio waves are radiated in a plurality of directions at the same time.
- Variation 1 is a method of determining a specified value of Min peak EIRP when the total value of Max TRP at the time of CA is made the same as the value at the time of transmission of a single carrier.
- the Max TRP at the time of CA between the CC of PC3 and the CC of PC3 is 23 dBm (see FIG. 3).
- Min EIRP is defined when the same TRP is assumed for the 28 GHz band and the 38 GHz band.
- Spherical coverage EIRP is also specified accordingly.
- Min EIRP is defined for the 28 GHz band and the 38 GHz band.
- Spherical coverage EIRP is also specified accordingly.
- Min EIRP is specified so that the value of Min EIRP in the 38 GHz band is higher than that of Min EIRP in the 28 GHz band.
- Spherical coverage EIRP is also specified accordingly. Since the propagation loss in the 38 GHz band is larger than the propagation loss in the 28 GHz band (there is a difference of about 2.6 dB at the same distance), the CA connectivity can be improved by increasing the Min EIRP in the 38 GHz band.
- the specified value may be set in the same manner based on Spherical coverage EIRP instead of Min EIRP.
- FIG. 4 is a diagram showing numerical examples of Plans A to C in Variation 1.
- FIG. 5 is a diagram showing plans A to C in variation 1 by mathematical formulas.
- Variation 2 is a method of determining a specified value of Min peak EIRP when the total value of Max TRP at the time of CA is set to the total value of each value at the time of transmission of a single carrier.
- the Max TRP at the time of CA between the CC of PC3 and the CC of PC3 is 26 dBm.
- the distribution of EIRP in each band shall be the specified value of the single carrier.
- 22.4 dBm and 20.6 dBm are set as the specified values of Min peak EIRP, respectively.
- Inter-band CA in the same frequency band (for example, 28 GHz + 28 GHz, 38 GHz + 38 GHz).

Min peak EIRP ≦ Peak EIRP ≦ Max peak EIRP
