The controller then controls the power supply unit to control the voltage of each of the illumination elements 48, thereby controlling the illumination of the illumination elements 48. It will be appreciated that the modularity of the modular illumination system 70 provides a multitude of possible configurations and applications of the system. These include, but are not limited to, domestic or commercial lighting, ornaments, toys, structures such as shelving, sculptures and the like.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un couplage électrique destiné à un système d'éclairage modulaire, le couplage électrique comprenant un premier élément de connexion et un second élément de connexion. Le premier élément de connexion comprend un corps et une pluralité d'ensembles de premiers conducteurs. Le corps forme un alésage. La pluralité d'ensembles de premiers conducteurs sont disposés sur une surface d'extrémité de l'alésage. Le second élément de connexion comprend un corps et une pluralité d'ensembles de seconds conducteurs. Une partie d'extrémité du corps est destinée à être reçue à l'intérieur de l'alésage du premier élément de connexion de telle sorte qu'une surface d'extrémité de ladite partie d'extrémité est adjacente à la surface d'extrémité de l'alésage. La pluralité d'ensembles de seconds conducteurs sont disposés sur ladite surface d'extrémité du second élément de connexion. La pluralité d'ensembles de premiers conducteurs et la pluralité d'ensembles de seconds conducteurs sont agencés de telle sorte que lorsque l'alésage du premier élément de connexion reçoit la partie d'extrémité du second élément de connexion, chaque ensemble de la pluralité d'ensembles de premiers conducteurs entre en contact avec un ensemble correspondant de la pluralité d'ensembles de seconds conducteurs indépendamment de l'orientation du second élément de connexion par rapport au premier élément de connexion.
