Abstract

The present invention is to provide a holder 100 for carrying and storing articles. The holder 100 includes a first member 110, a second member 120 and an at least one retaining member 130, 140. The first member 110 is having a storage space for storing and holding the articles. The second member 120 covers the first member 110. The second member 120 moves towards the first member 110 to configure a holding position. The retaining member 130, 140 connects the first member 110 and the second member 120 for holding the articles therebetween. The retaining member 130, 140 is stretchable, and the retaining member 130, 140 is connected with an inner top surface of the second member 120. The retaining member 130, 140 is stretched to connect with the first member 110 to configure variable holding positions between the first member 110 and the second member 120.

Description

“A Holder for Storing and Carrying Articles”

Field of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a holder, more particularly, the present invention relates to a holder adapted to fit inside the suitcase, luggage and the like for holding and storing pressed garments/clothes without damaging therein.

Background of the invention

[0002] Generally, a suitcase or luggage carrier is used to carry garments/clothes while travelling. These garments need to be used immediately after reaching the destination for various occasions. As laundry services, may add to expenses, generally people prefer to avoid using such services. The suitcase or luggage carrier that is available have some additional straps to hold the packed garments intact. These straps are not capable of holding the pressed clothes intact. Some luggage carriers also have compartments with zips to keep pressed garments therein. If there are fewer garments/clothes, then these compartments fail to keep the garments in a correct orientation.

[0003] Further, storage of garment in homes is also problematic, even after having closets for the same. Generally, people tend to hanger the garments instead of compartments, as there is a possibility of garments getting damaged.

[0004] Therefore, there is a need to provide a holder for storing and carrying garments, which overcomes all the drawbacks of the prior art.

Objects of the invention

[0005] Object of the present invention is to provide a holder for storing and carrying articles, which can be placed inside the luggage carrier or suitcase.

[0006] Another object of the present invention is to provide a holder for storing and carrying articles, which also can be used for holding and storing garments in homes.

[0007] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a holder for storing and carrying articles, which keeps the articles/clothes/garments intact in a compressed condition.

[0008] One more object of the present invention is to provide a holder for storing and carrying articles, which can be adjusted to hold a various number of articles/garments/clothes therein. [0009] Still another object of the present invention is to provide a holder for storing and carrying articles, which has a close cover with waterproof fabric to prevent the entrance of any liquid from outside.

[0010] Further one object of the present invention is to provide a holder for storing and carrying garments, which is compact in construction.

[0011] Further object of the present invention is to provide a holder for storing and carrying garments, which is robust and economical in construction.

Summary of the Invention

[0012] According to the present invention, a holder for carrying and storing articles in accordance with the present invention is illustrated. Specifically, the holder is used for storing and carrying garments. The holder can be placed inside a suitcase or a luggage carrier to hold the garments therein intact. The holder includes a first member, a second member, and an at least one retaining member. Further, the holder includes a lining arranged inside the first member for preventing the articles or garments from stains or damages from any surroundings.

[0013] Further, the second member covers the first member and is configured symmetrically above the first member. The second member moves towards the first member to configure a holding position. The articles are stacked between the first member and the second member in the holding position.

[0014] The first member and the second member are held together by the retaining member. In the embodiment, two such retaining members are provided on the holder like a first retaining member and a second retaining member. Each of the first retaining members and the second retaining member is configured on opposite ends of an inner top surface of the second member. The retaining members together connect the first member and the second member.

[0015] The retaining members are stretchable and connected with the inner top surface of the second member. The retaining members are stretched to connect with the first member to configure the variable holding position. The retaining members are arranged on a mounting member which is arranged on the inner top surface of the second member.

[0016] Each of the retaining members is having a respective locking member which latch with a respective locking portion of the first member to configure the holding position. The first retaining member includes a first stretchable member and a first flexible member attached together. The first stretchable member is arranged on the first mounting member, and the first flexible member is attachable between the first stretchable member and the locking member. Similarly, the second retaining member includes a second stretchable member and a second flexible member attached together. The second stretchable member is arranged on a second mounting member and the second flexible member is attachable between the second stretchable member and the locking member. The locking members latch with the locking portion of the first member to configure the holding position.

[0017] The flexible members upon pulling, stretch the stretchable members enabling the flexible members to move towards the first member to lock the flexible members with the first member. Similarly, upon unlocking the flexible members the first member and the second member detaches and allows the user to keep the clothes in the first member.

Details description of the invention

[0026] Referring now to figures 1 and 2, various views of a holder 100 for carrying and storing articles in accordance with the present invention is illustrated. Specifically, the holder 100 is used for storing and carrying garments. The holder 100 can be placed inside a suitcase 200 or a luggage carrier to hold garments therein intact as shown in figure 3 and 4. Specifically, pressed garments can be stored in the holder 100. The holder 100 includes a first member 110, a second member 120, and an at least one retaining member. The first member 110 is a base of the holder 100. In the present embodiment, the first member 110 is a rectangular container having a storage space for storing and holding the articles therein. Specifically, the garments are stacked therein.

[0027] Further, the holder 100 includes a lining 112 (shown in figure 1) arranged inside the first member 110 for preventing the articles or garments from stains or damages from any surroundings. The lining 112 also prevents the garments from surrounding dust particles. In the present embodiment, the lining 112 is a flexible sheet made of plastic or any other obvious material. In an alternate embodiment, the lining 112 is a satin/poly propylene sheet, and it may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to use any other material for the lining 112. Further, the first member 110 can be configured in any shape according to the garments and according to the size and shape of the suitcase 200 or the luggage carrier.

[0028] Further, the second member 120 covers the first member 110 and is configured symmetrically above the first member 110. The second member 120 moves towards the first member 110 to configure a holding position as shown in figure 3. The articles are stacked between the first member 110 and the second member 120 in the holding position. The second member 120 is configured in conformity with the shape and size of the first member 110. In the present embodiment, the second member 120 is a rectangular container with one side open. The open sides of both the first member 110 and the second member 120 are arranged facing towards each other. In the present embodiment, the first member 110 is positioned on the operative lower side and the second member 120 towards the upper side. The second member 120 may also have a lining (not shown) for preventing the garments from stains, dust and the like. This arrangement may be reversed, which is obvious to a person skilled in the art.

[0029] In an alternate embodiment, a handle (not shown in figures) is provided on the holder 100. This handle enables a person to hold the holder 100 for lifting and shifting, thereby providing portability thereto.

[0030] Referring again to figures 1 and 2, the first member 110 and the second member 120 are held together by the retaining member. In the present embodiment, two such retaining members are provided on the holder 100 like a first retaining member 130 and a second retaining member 140. [0031] The retaining members 130, 140 are stretchable and connected with the inner top surface of the second member 120. The retaining members 130, 140 are stretched to connect with the first member 110 to configure the variable holding position. The retaining members 130, 140 are arranged on a mounting member which is arranged on the inner top surface of the second member 120. In the present embodiment, two mounting members like a first mounting member 132 and a second mounting member 142 is provided to arrange the respective retaining members 130, 140.

[0032] Each of the retaining members 130, 140 is having a respective locking members 150a, 150b which latches with a respective locking portions 160a, 160b of the first member 110 to configure the holding position. The locking members 150a, 150b is having a hook or a protrusion which enables the locking members 150a, 150b to latches with the locking portions 160a, 160b as shown in figure 2. The locking portion 160a, 160b is a slot in which the hook or protrusion of the locking member 150a, 150b locks. It may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to use other mechanisms such as push lock mechanism and the like to lock and unlock the retaining member 130, 140 with the first member 110.

[0033] Further, the first retaining member 130 includes a first stretchable member 134 and a first flexible member 136 attached together. The first stretchable member 134 is arranged on the first mounting member 132, and the first flexible member 136 is attachable between the first stretchable member 134 and the locking member 150a. Similarly, the second retaining member 140 includes a second stretchable member 144 and a second flexible member 146 attached together. The second stretchable member 144 is arranged on a second mounting member 142 and the second flexible member 146 is attachable between the second stretchable member 144 and the locking member 150b. The locking member 150a and 150b latch with the locking portion 160a, 160b of the first member 110 to configure the holding position. In this embodiment, the flexible members 136, 146 and the stretchable members 134, 144 are detachable from each other. Further, a sheet 170 covers the mounting members 132, 142 and the stretchable members 134, 144 from the vicinity of the user as shown in figure 1. The sheet 170 attaches with the inner top surface of the second member 120.

[0034] Further, a slot 180a, 180b are provided on each side of the second member 120 through which the flexible members 136, 146 projects towards the periphery of the holder 100. The flexible members 136, 146 are configured visibly which allows the user to operate the flexible members 136, 146 manually. The flexible members 136, 146 upon pulling, stretches the stretchable members 134, 144 enabling the flexible members 136, 146 to move towards the first member 110 to lock the flexible members 136, 146 with the first member 110. Similarly, upon unlocking the flexible members 136, 146, the first member 110 and the second member 120 detaches and allows the user to keep the clothes in the first member 110 as shown in figures 2 and 4. In the present embodiment, the flexible members 136, 146 is a strap.

[0035] Therefore, the holder 100 of the present invention has the advantage of being useful to hold garments inside the luggage carrier or suitcase 200. Further, the holder 100 can be used for holding and storing garments in homes. The holder 100 helps in keeps the clothes/garments intact in a compressed condition. Furthermore, the holder 100 is adjustable to hold a various number of garments/cloths therein. Also, the holder 100 is compact in construction. Moreover, the holder 100 is robust and economical in construction.

Claims

We Claim:

1. A holder 100 for carrying and storing articles, the holder 100 comprising: a first member 110 having storage space for storing the articles therein; a second member 120 covers the first member 110 and the second member 120 moves towards the first member 110 to configure a holding position; and

at least one retaining member 130, 140 for connecting the first member 110 and the second member 120 thereby holding the articles therebetween,

wherein the retaining member 130, 140 is stretchable, and the retaining member 130, 140 is connected with an inner top surface of the second member 120, the retaining member 130, 140 is stretched to connect with the first member 110 to configure variable holding positions between the first member 110 and the second member 120.

2. The holder 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the retaining member 130, 140 is having a locking member 150a, 150b, the locking member 150a, 150b latches with a locking portion 160a, 160b of the first member 110 to configure the holding position.

3. The holder 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the retaining member 130, 140 is arranged on a mounting member 132, 142, the mounting member 132, 142 is arranged on the inner top surface of the second member 120.

4. The holder 100 as claimed in claims 1 and 2, wherein the retaining member 130, 140 includes: a stretchable member 134, 144 arranged on the mounting member 132, 142; and

a flexible member 136, 146 attachable between the stretchable member 134, 144 and the locking member 150a, 150b, which latches with the locking portion 160a, 160b of the first member 110.

The holder 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the holder 100 includes two retaining members like a first retaining member 130 and a second retaining member 140, the first retaining member 130 and the second retaining member 140 are configured on opposite ends of the inner top surface of the second member 120.

6. The holder 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the holder 100 further includes a lining 112 provided inside the first member 110 to prevent the damages of articles from surroundings.
