  • the invention relates to the field of computing for searching and providing content for goods and / or services.
  • a method and apparatus for selling delivery services via an intermediary's website is known from the prior art, as described in US 2008/0162304 A1, cl. G06Q 30/00.
  • the known solution provides a method and device that allows buyers, sellers and transport companies (or carriers) to exchange goods, services and communications through a system provided by a third party - "intermediary".
  • the known solution allows buyers to openly choose a delivery method from an independent carrier for the delivery of goods purchased from sellers.
  • the well-known solution also allows merchants to outsource their shipping operations to independent carriers to focus more on their core business.
  • the reseller provides an electronic trading platform where sellers register their items for sale and carriers post their shipping methods and rates for buyers to choose from.
  • the seller When a buyer places an order, the seller is required to confirm the order received, along with packaging specifications such as package weights and dimensions, which are used to calculate the shipping options available for that particular package from independent carriers. These estimated shipping options are presented to the buyer, who then selects a shipping method that suits their needs. Subsequently selected the carrier contacts the information about the shipment of the parcel, including the approximate shipping cost, with which the carrier can agree or adjust it. When a delivery agreement has been reached, the system will automatically schedule the shipment and delivery date for the package and notify all interested parties. The buyer pays the intermediary as clearing house for the purchased goods and shipping costs. Subsequently, on the scheduled pickup date, the carrier visits the seller to pick up the package and delivers it using the shipping method chosen by the buyer. When the package is delivery, the seller is credited for the goods sold and the carrier is given a credit for shipping costs. The intermediary also collects commissions from the seller of goods and the carrier for simplified transactions.
