Abstract
An edible confection includes a cookie covered in white icing and drawn on with dark icing outlining an image suitable for painting. According to the invention, the cookies are distributed with one or more other pallet cookies covered in white icing and edible alcohol-free paint. According to the presently preferred embodiment, the cookies are in a geometric shape. The cookies of the invention are preferably distributed in groups of thematically related images. Some thematic images contemplated by the invention include animals, flowers, vehicles, landscapes, licensed characters, unlicensed characters, objects and scenes of the every day's life. According to the invention, the cookies are distributed as a kit containing one or more canvas cookies to paint, one or more pallets of edible paint, one paintbrush, one water container and one paper napkin.
Description
DESCRIPTION
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
The invention relates to edible confections and to children and adults painting activities. More particularly, the invention relates to a full painting kit containing an edible cookie bearing a paintable image, pallets of edible paint, a paintbrush, a water container and a napkin.
2. Discussion of the Background
It is generally known in the art of confections to provide cakes, cookies and other baked goods which bear images, such as decorated birthday cakes. Images are applied by the baker using edible coloring agents. It is also known in the art of children and adults entertainment alike to provide a canvas to paint, using a paintbrush and a pallet of paint. Children and adults alike are entertained by the process of mixing colors with the paintbrush, painting on the canvas and expressing their creativity.
U.S. published application 2001/0043969 shows a cookie or other confection which has icing printed thereon including an outline for coloring an image. The cookies can be sold in a kit containing a set number of alcohol-based coloring markers so that the cookie can be colored by children before eating
Heretofore, it has not been known or suggested to combine a painting activity with similar confections using a painting kit including an edible canvas, a pallet of edible paint and a paintbrush to provide a creative amusement for children and adults alike.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a painting kit containing an edible canvas, an edible pallet of alcohol-free edible paint, a paintbrush, a water container and a napkin.
It is also an object of the invention to provide a painting kit containing an edible confection which may be painted using a pallet of alcohol-free edible paint, a paintbrush, a water container and a napkin to provide an amusement by either creating or coloring an image.
It is a still further object of the invention to provide a painting kit containing an edible confection which may be painted using a pallet of alcohol-free edible paint, a paintbrush, a water container and a napkin to provide an amusement by mixing paint colors and creating new colors.
It is still another object of the invention to provide a childhood amusement.
It is still object of the invention to provide a method for painting an edible confection.
In accord with these objects which will be discussed in detail below, the painting kit of the present invention includes a cookie preferably covered in white icing and decorated with dark icing outlining the contours of an image suitable for painting.
According to the invention, the cookies are distributed in a kit containing one or more cookies in the shape of a canvas, one or more cookies in the shape of a pallet of edible paint, one paintbrush, one water container and one napkin.
The kits of the invention are preferably distributed in groups of thematically related images. Some themes contemplated by the invention include animals, corporate logos, flowers, landscapes, licensed characters, objects, scenes of the every day’s life, scenes of fictions, unlicensed characters and vehicles.
Additional objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art upon reference to the detailed description taken in conjunction with the provided figures.
Claims
1. An edible confection, comprising:
a) a base layer; and
b) an icing layer, wherein
said icing layer is capable of receiving and retaining edible paint.
2. The edible confection according to claim 1 , wherein said icing having an outline of an image suitable for coloring.
3. The edible confection according to claim 1 , wherein said base layer is in a geometric shape.
4. The edible confection according to claim 2, wherein said outline is formed with colored icing which is applied thereon.
5. The edible confection according to claim 1 , wherein said base layer is a cookie.
6. The edible confection according to claim 1 , wherein said base layer is a flour- and egg-based product.
7. The edible confection according to claim 2, wherein said image is selected from a group consisting of animals, corporate logos, flowers, landscapes, licensed characters, objects, scenes of the every day’s life, scenes of fictions, unlicensed characters and vehicles.
8. An edible confection, comprising:
a) a base layer; and
b) an icing layer, wherein
said icing layer is capable of receiving and retaining edible paint.
9. The edible confection according to claim 8, wherein said icing holds patches of at least two different colors of paint.
10. The edible confection according to claim 8, wherein said base layer is a cookie.
11. The edible confection according to claim 8, wherein said base layer is a flour- and egg-based product.
12. A kit, comprising:
a) an edible confection decorated with the relief contours of an image suitable for painting; b) a paintbrush for applying edible paint;
b) an edible confection having a surface available with patches of edible paint;
c) a mineral water container; and
d) a paper napkin.
13. The kit according to claim 12, wherein said edible confection is a cookie.
14. The kit according to claim 12, wherein said edible confection is in a geometric shape.
15. The kit according to claim 12, wherein said image is selected from a group consisting of animals, corporate logos, flowers, landscapes, licensed characters, objects, scenes of the every day’s life, scenes of fictions, unlicensed characters and vehicles.
16. The kit according to claim 12, wherein said surface is available with at least two different colors of paint.
17. A method of painting an edible confection, comprising:
a) decorating the confection with the relief contours of an image suitable for painting; and b) distributing the edible confection with at least one paintbrush, another edible confection providing at least two colors of edible paint, one water container and one napkin.
18. A method according to claim 17, further comprising:
c) filling in the relief contours of the image using the paintbrush, the water container, the edible paint and the napkin.
19. A method according to claim 17, further comprising;
d) mixing two or more colors of paint to create new colors
20. A method according to claim 17, further comprising;
e) painting a portion of the relief outline image using one color of paint; and
f) coloring in another portion of the outline image using another color of paint.
21. A paintbrush, comprising a body suitable to be held by hand, a base and bristles
22. The paintbrush according to claim 21 wherein said base connects the body and the bristles.
23. The paintbrush according to claim 21 wherein said bristles are made of animal hair or synthetic material.
