Description
BAG WITH HANDLES
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present description concerns a bag, in particular a bag provided with several handles that can be extracted from the body of the bag.
FRAMEWORK OF THE DESCRIPTION
Known bags may comprise a hollow body and a plurality of handles fixed to the peripheral surfaces of this hollow body, so that a user can grasp the bag from the side he prefers, thus allowing a more convenient transport.
However, the unused handles can be a hindrance due to their bulk towards the outside. Furthermore, as a whole, a plurality of handles projecting outwards give the bag a quite unfinished appearance. If instead the handles were placed in a seat that protrudes inwards, then would remove useful space in the hollow body of the bag.
US 5415332 A describes a bag according to the preamble of claim 1.
SUMMARY OF THE DESCRIPTION
The object of the present description is therefore to provide a bag free from these drawbacks. Said object is achieved with a bag whose main features are specified in the attached claims.
Thanks to the particular combination of strip and guide(s), the bag according to the present description has exposed portions of the strip which, if pulled outwards by a user from the side of the hollow body which is more convenient for him, form a handle, while the others exposed portions of the strip are automatically stretched towards the perimetric surfaces of the hollow body, so as not to protrude either outwards or inwards.
The guides are preferably made so as to occupy the minimum space and remain hidden from view.
The guides are preferably at least two and the exposed portions of the strip at least
three, so that a user can grasp a handle on the nearest side of the three accessible sides of the bag (the fourth side acts as a base), regardless of the orientation of the bag, so as to easily put the bag in an enclosed space, such as an aircraft overhead compartment.
Thanks to the particular arrangement of its components, the bag also has a linear appearance, which is therefore aesthetically pleasing.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Further advantages and features of the bag according to the present description will be apparent to those skilled in the art from the following detailed and non-limiting description of an embodiment thereof with reference to the attached drawings in which:
- figure 1 shows a side view of the bag;
- figure 2 shows a front view of the bag of figure 1; is
- figure 3 shows a rear view of the bag of figure 1.
EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS
With reference to figures 1 to 3, it can be seen that the bag according to the present description comprises a hollow body 1 which has at least one front surface la and a rear surface lb joined together by one or more perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le, substantially flat or arched.
At least one strip 3 is fixed in at least two points 4 of said one or more perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le and is slidably arranged in at least one slit of at least one guide 2 joined to one or more perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le, in so that at least two portions of the strip 3 are exposed to the outside of one or more perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le between the guide 2 and one of the two fixing points 4 of the strip 3, wherein an exposed portion of the strip 3, if pulled outwards, forms a handle, while the other exposed portion of the strip 3 adheres to at least one perimetric surface lc, Id, le. The strip 3 has a width and a thickness which allow its bending along a transverse axis but oppose a determined resistance to the transverse deformation, similarly to a belt for trousers.
Preferably, the guide 2 comprises at least one loop, in particular formed by a layer of a material more rigid than the strip 3, for example a piece of fabric or plastic material, more particularly polyurethane, having two sides joined to one or more surfaces perimetric lc, Id, le, so that the slit for the strip 3 is arranged between these two sides, as well as between the guide 2 and one or more perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le.
In particular, the hollow body 1 comprises a plurality of perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le, for example four perimetric surfaces, wherein the guide 2 is arranged between two adjacent perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le, which may be substantially perpendicular to each other. In the present embodiment the hollow body 1 has a substantially rectangular or trapezoidal profile, in particular a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape with one or more rounded corners, wherein at least one guide 2 is arranged at least along one rounded comer. In other embodiments, the hollow body 1 can have other shapes, for example a prismatic or cylindrical shape, in which case it has a single perimetric surface.
Preferably, at least two guides 2 are joined to one or more perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le of the hollow body 1 and the strip 3 comprises at least three portions exposed to the outside of one or more perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le, wherein at least one of these three portions is arranged between the two guides 2, so as to form three handles, in particular arranged along each of three perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le which are substantially flat and/or perpendicular to each other, wherein one handle can protrude from a perimetric surface, for example the perimetric surface Id as in the figures, and the other two handles remain adherent to the remaining perimetric surfaces lc, le (in figures 2 and 3 these two handles are shown with dashed lines in their protruding position). The perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le can be substantially rigid and and/or form a substantially rigid structure to improve the sliding of the strip 3 in the guides 2.
At least one zipper 10 may be arranged along one or more perimetric surfaces lc, Id, le between the strip 3 and the front surface la, as in the present embodiment, or the rear surface lb, so as to be barely visible.
At least two shoulder straps 5 are preferably fixed to the rear surface lb of the hollow body 1, so that the bag can also act as a backpack. In particular, one end of at
least one shoulder 5 is fixed to the rear surface lb of the hollow body 1 and the other end is provided with a coupling element 6 suitable to be fixed in a removable manner to a complementary coupling element 7 joined to the hollow body 1. Said coupling element 6 and said complementary coupling element 7 may comprise a carabiner and a ring, or vice versa. The rear surface lb of the hollow body 1 preferably comprises at least one pocket 8 for the shoulder straps 5, when they are not in use.
Possible variations or additions can be made by those skilled in the art to the embodiment described and illustrated herein, remaining within the scope of the following claims. In particular, further embodiments may comprise the technical features of one of the following claims with the addition of one or more technical features described in the text or illustrated in the drawings, taken individually or in any combination thereof.
Furthermore, it is evident that the term "bag" must refer to any equivalent container with handles, in particular suitcase, briefcase, case or the like.
