Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Flachbettscanner (10) mit einer Lichtquelle (32), einer Detektorvorrichtung (26) und einem flächigen Trägermedium (12), welches als Lichtleiter zum Übertragen von eingekoppeltem Licht mittels interner Reflexion ausgebildet ist und einen Auflagebereich (18) für ein zu scannendes Dokument (40) aufweist, wobei das Trägermedium (12) ferner ein holographisches Element (16) umfasst, das zumindest im Auflagebereich (18) mit einer ersten Beugungsstruktur (20) ausgebildet ist, die dazu ausgelegt ist, Licht vom Auflagebereich (18) in das Trägermedium (12) in Richtung eines Detektorbereichs (22) einzukoppeln. Der Detektorbereich (22) weist ein holographisches Element (16) mit einer zweiten Beugungsstruktur (24) auf, wobei die zweite Beugungsstruktur (24) dazu ausgelegt ist, Licht, das aus Richtung des Auflagebereichs auf die zweite Beugungsstruktur (24) fällt, aus dem Trägermedium (12) auf die Detektorvorrichtung (26) auszukoppeln.

Description

Flachbettscanner
BESCHREIBUNG: Die Erfindung betrifft einen Flachbettscanner.
Ein Flachbettscanner weist vorzugsweise einen Auflagebereich für ein zu scannendes Dokument, das beispielsweise ein Blatt Papier oder eine Seite eines aufgeschlagenen Buchs sein kann, und eine Lichtquelle auf, die den Auflagebereich und somit das Dokument beleuchten kann. Das von dem Dokument reflektierte oder im Fall einer Transmissionsmessung durch das Dokument hindurchgetretene Licht kann dann von einer Detektorvorrichtung aufgenommen werden, wobei eine Lichtleitung und optische Abbildung des Dokuments auf die Detektorvorrichtung mittels optischer Bauteile, wie zum Beispiel Spiegel und Linsen, durchgeführt wird.
Aus der DE 697 37 495 T2 sind Vorrichtungen und Verfahren zum Erzeugen gescannter beziehungsweise abgetasteter oder anderweitig erfasster elekt ronischer Bilder bekannt.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, einen verbesserten Flachbett scanner bereitzustellen.
Die Aufgabe wird durch die Gegenstände der unabhängigen Patentansprü- che gelöst. Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der Erfindung sind durch die abhän gigen Patentansprüche, die folgende Beschreibung sowie die Figuren offen bart.
Durch die Erfindung ist ein Flachbettscanner mit einem flächigen Trägerme- dium bereitgestellt, welches einen Auflagebereich für ein zu scannendes Dokument aufweist und dabei als Lichtleiter zum Übertragen von eingekop peltem Licht mittels interner Reflexion ausgebildet ist, wobei das Trägerme dium ferner ein holographisches Element umfasst, das zumindest im Aufla gebereich mit einer ersten Beugungsstruktur ausgebildet ist, die dazu ausge legt ist, Licht vom Auflagebereich in das Trägermedium in Richtung eines Detektorbereichs einzukoppeln. Der Detektorbereich weist ein holographi sches Element mit einer zweiten Beugungsstruktur auf, wobei die zweite Beugungsstruktur dazu ausgelegt ist, Licht, das innerhalb des Trägermedi ums aus Richtung des Auflagebereichs auf die zweite Beugungsstruktur fällt, aus dem Trägermedium auf eine Detektorvorrichtung auszukoppeln, wobei die Detektorvorrichtung dazu ausgebildet ist, aus dem Licht Bilddaten des zu scannenden Dokuments zu bestimmen oder zu erzeugen. Ferner weist der Flachbettscanner eine Lichtquelle auf, die dazu ausgebildet und angeordnet ist, den Auflagebereich auszuleuchten.
Mit anderen Worten weist der Flachbettscanner ein flächiges Trägermedium auf, das vorzugsweise aus Glas oder Kunststoff gebildet ist und als Lichtlei ter dienen kann, das einen Auflagebereich für ein zu scannendes Objekt umfasst, wobei Licht von einer Lichtquelle des Flachbettscanners, das von dem zu scannenden Dokument reflektiert oder durch das zu scannende Dokument durchleuchtet werden kann, auf ein holographisches Element des Trägermediums fallen kann, das zumindest die gleichen Abmessungen wie der Auflagebereich aufweisen kann. Das holographische Element des Trä germediums, das sich in einer Projektionsebene des Auflagebereichs befin det, kann eine erste Beugungsstruktur umfassen, die Licht, das von dem Auflagebereich, das heißt von dem zu scannenden Dokument, in das Trä germedium auf die erste Beugungsstruktur fällt, in das Trägermedium in Richtung eines Detektorbereichs einkoppeln kann. Unter der Projektionsebe ne ist dabei eine Ebene zu verstehen, die innerhalb eines Bereichs liegt, der sich aus einer parallelen Erweiterung des Auflagebereichs in das Trägerme dium hinein ergibt.
Innerhalb des Trägermediums kann das Licht dann mittels interner Reflexion, das heißt mittels Totalreflexion, zu dem Detektorbereich übertragen werden, wobei der Detektorbereich ein holographisches Element mit einer zweiten Beugungsstruktur aufweisen kann, die das so empfangene Licht aus dem Trägermedium in Richtung einer Detektorvorrichtung aus dem Trägermedium auskoppeln kann. Die Detektorvorrichtung kann das Licht empfangen und daraus Bilddaten des zu scannenden Dokuments erzeugen.
Das flächige Trägermedium kann dabei vorzugsweise einen Lichtwellenleiter aus Glas oder Kunststoff oder einer Kombination von mehreren lichtleitenden Materialien umfassen. Es kann auf einer Platte oder mehreren Platten in Sandwichbauweise oder einer Mehrschichtenanordnung aus Folien oder Lacken beruhen und zumindest eine Flächengröße von dem zu scannenden Dokument, wie beispielsweise ein Papierformat nach ISO/DIN A4 oder grö ßer, aufweisen. Ebenso kann die erste Beugungsstruktur die gleiche Abmes sung auf Höhe des Auflagebereichs aufweisen.
Ein holographisches Element, das auch als holographisch-optisches Element (HOE) bezeichnet wird, ist ein optisches Element, dessen Funktionsprinzip auf Holographie beruht und das mittels holographischer Verfahren, das heißt holographischer Belichtung, hergestellt werden kann. Ein holographisches Element kann insbesondere als optisches Gitter beziehungsweise Beu gungsgitter ausgebildet sein.
Die Detektorvorrichtung kann eine oder mehrere Photodioden, die vorzugs weise als CMOS- oder CCD-Sensoren ausgebildet sind, umfassen, die das empfangene Licht in ein elektronisches Signal umwandeln können, aus dem Bilddaten bestimmt werden können. Die Lichtquelle kann vorzugsweise eine LED (Leuchtdiode), eine OLED, ein Laser oder eine Leuchtröhre, wie bei spielsweise eine Kaltkathodenlampe, aufweisen.
Durch die Erfindung ergibt sich der Vorteil, dass platzfordernde optische und auch mechanische Bauteile eingespart werden können, wodurch der Flach bettscanner kompakter ausgestaltet werden kann und dass Kosten durch Einsparung von optischen Bauteilen eingespart werden können. Zu der Erfindung gehören auch Ausführungsformen, durch die sich zusätzli che Vorteile ergeben.
Eine Ausführungsform sieht vor, dass die erste Beugungsstruktur und die zweite Beugungsstruktur als ein optisches Gitter ausgebildet sind, insbeson dere ein holographisches Volumengitter oder ein holographisches Oberflä chengitter.
Optische Gitter, auch Beugungsgitter genannt, sowie deren Wirkungsweise und Herstellungsverfahren sind dabei allgemein bekannt. Grundsätzlich können optische Gitter als zumindest abschnittsweise periodische Struktu ren, sogenannte Gitterstrukturen, in einem Substrat ausgebildet sein, die durch den physikalischen Effekt der Beugung eine Lichtlenkung, wie sie zum Beispiel von Spiegeln, Linsen oder Prismen bekannt ist, herbeiführen kön nen. Fällt Licht, d.h. fallen Lichtstrahlen auf das optische Gitter, wobei die einfallenden Lichtstrahlen insbesondere die Bragg-Gleichung erfüllen, wer den die Lichtstrahlen durch das optische Gitter gebeugt oder abgelenkt. Die Lichtlenkung kann somit insbesondere durch Interferenzerscheinungen der durch das optische Gitter gebeugten Lichtstrahlen erfolgen. Die Ablenkstruk tur kann entsprechend auch als Beugungsstruktur bezeichnet werden. Ein holographisches Oberflächengitter und ein holographisches Volumengitter sind holographisch-optische Elemente, die insbesondere durch ein Hologra phieverfahren hergestellt werden können.
Vorzugsweise kann ein optisches Gitter gegenüber dem einfallenden Licht Winkel- beziehungsweise richtungsselektiv und/oder weilenlängen- bezie hungsweise frequenzselektiv ausgebildet sein. Somit kann nur Licht, das aus einer vorbestimmten Einfallsrichtung, zum Beispiel in einem vorbestimmten Winkel, auf ein optisches Gitter fällt, abgelenkt werden. Licht, das aus einer anderen Richtung auf das optische Gitter fällt, wird vorzugsweise nicht abge lenkt oder umso weniger, je größer der Unterschied zur vorbestimmten Ein fallsrichtung ist. Zusätzlich oder alternativ kann auch nur Licht einer Wellen länge oder Licht, welches höchstens um einen vorbestimmten Wellenlän genbereich von der vorbestimmten Wellenlänge abweicht, von dem opti- sehen Gitter in einem bestimmten Beugungswinkel abgelenkt werden. An ders formuliert kann beispielsweise eine Optimalwellenlänge vorgegeben sein, bei der nur ein Anteil des Lichts in einem bestimmten Wellenlängen oder Frequenzbereich um die Optimalwellenlänge von dem optischen Gitter abgelenkt wird (beispielsweise eine zentrale Optimalwellenlänge und ein Bereich mit Wellenlängenwerten bis +/- 10 Prozent der Optimalwellenlänge), der übrige Anteil des Lichts kann hingegen ohne abgelenkt zu werden durch das Gitter propagieren. Von polychromatischem Licht, welches auf das opti sche Gitter trifft, kann somit wenigstens ein monochromatischer Lichtanteil abgespaltet werden. Der Ablenkeffekt ergibt sich somit frequenzselektiv und/oder winkelselektiv, wobei der Ablenkeffekt für ein Optimalwellenlänge maximal ist und zu längeren und kürzeren Wellenlängen hin abfällt oder schwächer wird, beispielsweise gemäß einer Gaußglocke abfällt. Insbeson dere wirkt der Ablenkeffekt nur auf einen Bruchteil des sichtbaren Lichtspekt rums und/oder in einem Winkelbereich kleiner als 90 Grad.
Besonders bevorzugt können optische Gitter mittels Belichtung eines Sub strats, also beispielsweise fotolithografisch oder holografisch, hergestellt werden. In diesem Zusammenhang können die optischen Gitter dann auch als holografische oder holografisch-optische Gitter bezeichnet werden. Es sind zwei Arten von holografisch-optischen Gittern bekannt: holografische Oberflächengitter (surface holografic gratings, kurz: SHG) und holografische Volumengitter (volume holografic gratings, kurz: VHG). Bei holografischen Oberflächengittern kann die Gitterstruktur durch optisches Verformen einer Oberflächenstruktur des Substrats erzeugt werden. Durch die veränderte Oberflächenstruktur kann auftreffendes Licht abgelenkt, zum Beispiel reflek tiert werden. Beispiele für holografische Oberflächengitter sind sogenannte Sägezahn- oder Blazegitter. Im Gegensatz dazu kann die Gitterstruktur bei holografischen Volumengittern in das ganze Volumen oder einen Teilbereich des Volumens des Substrats eingearbeitet sein. Holografische Oberflächen gitter und holografische Volumengitter sind in der Regel frequenzselektiv.
Als Material für ein Substrat zum Einarbeiten eines optischen Gitters eignet sich zum Beispiel besonders Glas, Vorzugsweise Quarzglas. Alternativ oder zusätzlich kann auch ein Polymer, insbesondere Fotopolymer, oder eine Folie, insbesondere eine fotosensitive Folie, zum Beispiel aus Kunststoff oder einem organischen Stoff verwendet werden. Zur Verwendung derartiger Substrate, sollte zusätzlich beachtet werden, dass das Material, insbesonde re in Substratform, flexible und lichtwellenleitende Eigenschaften aufweist. Substrate die eine Ablenkstruktur zum Beugen von Licht, beispielsweise in Form eines optischen Gitters aufweisen, können auch als holografisch optische Elemente (HOE) bezeichnet werden.
Eine weitere Ausführungsform sieht vor, dass der Detektorbereich einstückig mit dem, Trägermedium ausgebildet ist oder wobei der Detektorbereich als separates Element zu dem Trägermedium ausgebildet ist. Im ersten Fall kann der Detektorbereich somit beispielsweise direkt in eine Oberflächen struktur des Trägermediums eingearbeitet werden. Somit kann das Träger medium selbst als HOE ausgebildet sein, beispielsweise geätzt oder gelasert sein. Im zweiten Fall kann der Detektorbereich und Trägermedium separat ausgebildet sein. Dabei kann der Detektorbereich beispielsweise wenigstens ein erstes Element bilden und das Trägermedium kann ein zweites Element bilden, welches an dem ersten Element anliegt. Somit kann der Detektorbe reich in wenigstens einem HOE ausgebildet sein. Dies ermöglicht eine grö ßer Auswahl bei der Nutzung eines Trägermediums. Beispielsweise kann der Detektorbereich in unterschiedlichen Abschnitten einer holografischen Folie oder Platte ausgebildet sein. Zum Befestigen der Folie oder Platte an dem Trägermedium kann die Folie oder Platte an das Trägermedium angeklebt sein. Alternativ kann die holografische Folie auch als Adhäsionsfolie ausge bildet sein und direkt, also ohne Klebstoff, durch molekulare Kräfte an der Oberfläche des Trägermediums haften.
Eine weitere Ausführungsform sieht vor, dass der Detektorbereich eine klei nere Abmessung als der Auflagebereich aufweist, wobei die erste Beu gungsstruktur eine Bündelungsgitterstruktur aufweist, die dazu ausgebildet ist, Lichtstrahlen des Lichts, das auf die erste Beugungsstruktur fällt, unter schiedlich stark abzulenken, sodass die erste Beugungsstruktur die Licht strahlen auf die zweite Beugungsstruktur hin fokussiert, und wobei die zweite Beugungsstruktur eine entsprechende Zerstreuungsgitterstruktur aufweist, die dazu ausgebildet ist, Lichtstrahlen des Lichts zum Auskoppeln aus dem Trägermedium auf die Detektorvorrichtung zu parallelisieren.
Mit anderen Worten kann eine Abbildung des Auflagebereichs auf eine Ab messung des Detektorbereichs verkleinert werden, sodass ein Detektorchip verwendet werden kann, der kleiner als der Auflagebereich beziehungsweise das zu scannende Dokument ist.
Eine Bündelungsgitterstruktur kann eine inhomogene Beugungsstruktur aufweisen, die beispielsweise Lichtstrahlen von einem Rand der Beugungs struktur stärker beugen kann als Lichtstrahlen von einer Mitte der Beugungs struktur, wodurch die Lichtstrahlen fokussiert werden können. Dementspre chend kann eine Zerstreuungsgitterstruktur eine Gitterstruktur aufweisen, bei der Lichtstrahlen je nach auftreffender Position aufgefächert werden können. Vorzugsweise sind in dieser Ausführungsform die Bündelungsgitterstruktur und die Zerstreuungsgitterstruktur und die entsprechenden Abstände der beiden Strukturen so gewählt, dass die Lichtstrahlen von der Bündelungsgit terstruktur zu der Zerstreuungsgitterstruktur zusammenlaufen und von der Zerstreuungsgitterstruktur wieder parallelisiert werden. Diese Anordnung ist vergleichbar mit einem Galilei-Fernrohr, bei dem eine Sammellinse und eine Zerstreuungslinse derart hintereinander angeordnet sind, dass die Brennwei ten der beiden Linsen hinter der Zerstreuungslinse in einem Punkt zusam menfallen. Durch diese Ausführungsform ergibt sich der Vorteil, dass ein im Vergleich zum Auflagebereich kleiner Fotodetektor für die Detektorvorrich tung verwendet werden kann und somit Kosten eingespart werden können.
Eine weitere Ausführungsform sieht vor, dass die erste Beugungsstruktur und die zweite Beugungsstruktur als eine Multiplex-Beugungsstruktur ausge bildet sind, die dazu ausgebildet ist, Licht von zumindest zwei vorgegebenen Wellenlängen in einem vorbestimmten Winkel zu beugen. Eine Beugungs struktur, zum Beispiel ein optisches Gitter, ist in der Regel frequenzselektiv. Es sind jedoch auch optische Gitter bekannt, die polychromatisches Licht beugen können. Diese werden als holografische Mehrvolumenfachgitter (multiplexed volume holografic gratings, kurz: MVHG) bezeichnet und kön nen beispielsweise durch Verändern der Periodizität der Gitterstruktur eines optischen Gitters oder durch Anordnen mehrerer holografisches Volumengit ter hintereinander hergestellt werden, wodurch eine Multiplex- Beugungsstruktur entsteht. Die Erfindung umfasst auch die Verwendung eines solchen MVHG.
Eine weitere Ausführungsform sieht vor, dass die Detektorvorrichtung als Photodiodenmatrix ausgebildet ist, die dazu ausgelegt ist, Bilddaten des zu scannenden Dokuments aufzunehmen. Die Photodiodenmatrix kann dabei vorzugsweise als ein Chip von CCD-Sensoren oder CMOS-Sensoren aus gebildet sein, wobei die 2D-Photodiodenmatrix insbesondere bei einer einzi gen Belichtung des zu scannenden Dokuments die Bilddaten aufnehmen kann, vergleichbar mit einer Blitzlichtaufnahme eines Fotoapparats. Durch diese Ausführungsform ergibt sich der Vorteil, dass eine Aufnahmezeit des zu scannenden Dokuments verkürzt werden kann. Zudem ist keine bewegli che Detektionsvorrichtung notwendig.
In einer Ausführungsform kann vorgesehen sein, dass die Detektorvorrich tung eine Photodiodenzeile aufweist, die dazu ausgebildet ist, eine optische Abbildung des zu scannenden Dokuments in der Detektorvorrichtung abzu tasten. Mit anderen Worten kann die Detektorzeile das in den Detektor ein treffende Licht abfahren beziehungsweise abrastern, wodurch zeilenweise ein Bild aufgenommen werden kann. Durch diese Ausführungsform ergibt sich der Vorteil, dass Photodioden eingespart werden können, wodurch Kos ten gespart werden können.
Eine Ausführungsform sieht vor, dass die Lichtquelle zur Transmissionsmes sung des zu scannenden Dokuments über dem Auflagebereich angeordnet ist oder die Lichtquelle zur Reflexionsmessung des zu scannenden Doku ments unter dem Trägermedium angeordnet ist. Mit anderen Worten kann das zu scannende Dokument entweder von oben durchleuchtet werden oder von unten angestrahlt werden. Für eine Transmissionsmessung kann die Lichtquelle beispielsweise an einem mechanischen Arm befestigt sein, der über den Auflagebereich ragt und Licht auf den Auflagebereich abstrahlt. Für die Reflexionsmessung des zu scannenden Dokuments kann die Lichtquelle unterhalb des Trägermediums, insbesondere auf Höhe des Auflagebereichs, angeordnet sein und beispielsweise eine gleiche Abmessung wie der Aufla gebereich aufweisen. Die Lichtquelle kann vorzugsweise als eine LED, ein Laser oder ein Beamer ausgebildet sein. Bei einer Anordnung der Lichtquelle unter dem Trägermedium wird die Lichtleitfähigkeit des Trägermediums aus genutzt, wobei das Licht hierbei nicht mittels interner Reflexion durch das Trägermedium hindurchgeleitet wird, sondern unter Berücksichtigung von Brechungseffekten annähernd gerade durch das Trägermedium, ähnlich einer Glasscheibe, hindurchtreten kann.
Eine weitere Ausführungsform sieht vor, dass ferner eine Lichteinkopplungs vorrichtung vorgesehen ist, die dazu ausgebildet ist, Licht von der Lichtquelle in das Trägermedium auf ein weiteres holographisches Element einzukop peln, das zumindest im Auflagebereich mit einer dritten Beugungsstruktur ausgebildet ist, das von der Lichtquelle eingekoppelte Licht auf dem Aufla gebereich zu beugen. Mit anderen Worten kann Licht von einer Lichteinkopp lungsvorrichtung, die beispielsweise ein optisches Element wie ein Linsen system, ein Prisma, ein Gitter oder ein holographisches Element mit einer Beugungsstruktur umfassen kann, auf ein weiteres holographisches Element mit einer dritten Beugungsstruktur einkoppelt werden, wobei die dritte Beu gungsstruktur das Licht auf den Auflagebereich abstrahlen kann. Insbeson dere kann die dritte Beugungsstruktur so angeordnet sein, dass das Licht, das von der dritten Beugungsstruktur abgestrahlt wird, nicht von einer der anderen Beugungsstrukturen beeinflusst wird, das heißt, dass ein Einfalls winkel auf die beispielsweise erste Beugungsstruktur nicht einer Ablenkbe dingung entspricht, wodurch das Licht ungehindert durch die erste Beu gungsstruktur auf den Auflagebereich hindurchtreten kann. Folglich kann vorgesehen sein, dass beispielsweise die erste Beugungsstruktur zwischen dem Auflagebereich und der dritten Beugungsstruktur angeordnet ist. Durch diese Ausführungsform ergibt sich der Vorteil, dass der Auflagebereich aus geleuchtet werden kann. In einer vorteilhaften Ausführungsform kann vorgesehen sein, dass ferner eine Lichteinkopplungsvorrichtung vorgesehen ist, die dazu ausgebildet ist, Licht von der Lichtquelle auf die zweite Beugungsstruktur im Detektorbereich abzustrahlen, wobei die zweite Beugungsstruktur ferner dazu ausgebildet ist, das von der Lichtquelle abgestrahlte Licht in das Trägermedium in Richtung der ersten Beugungsstruktur einzukoppeln. Mit anderen Worten kann die Lichteinkoppelvorrichtung, die als Linsensystem oder Beugungsstruktur aus gebildet sein kann, Licht in das Trägermedium auf die zweite Beugungsstruk tur abstrahlen, die das Licht derart beugt, dass es in das Trägermedium eingekoppelt wird und über die erste Beugungsstruktur auf den Auflagebe reich zum Beleuchten eines zu scannenden Dokuments umgelenkt werden kann. Vorzugsweise kann hierbei vorgesehen sein, dass die Lichtquelle und die Lichteinkoppelvorrichtung neben der Detektorvorrichtung angeordnet sind, sodass das Licht von der Lichtquelle über den gleichen optischen Pfad gelenkt wird, wie das Licht, das von dem zu scannenden Dokument zu der Detektorvorrichtung zurückübertragen wird. Hierdurch ergibt sich der Vorteil, dass zur Beleuchtung des Auflagebereichs optische Bauteile eingespart werden können, wodurch Kosten gespart werden können.
Die Erfindung umfasst auch die Kombinationen der Merkmale der beschrie benen Ausführungsformen.
Im Folgenden sind Ausführungsbeispiele der Erfindung beschrieben. Hierzu zeigt:

Fig. 3 eine schematische Perspektivansicht einer beispielhaften Aus führungsform. Bei den im Folgenden erläuterten Ausführungsbeispielen handelt es sich um bevorzugte Ausführungsformen der Erfindung. Bei den Ausführungsbeispie len stellen die beschriebenen Komponenten der Ausführungsformen jeweils einzelne, unabhängig voneinander zu betrachtende Merkmale der Erfindung dar, welche die Erfindung jeweils auch unabhängig voneinander weiterbilden. Daher soll die Offenbarung auch andere als die dargestellten Kombinationen der Merkmale der Ausführungsformen umfassen. Des Weiteren sind die beschriebenen Ausführungsformen auch durch weitere der bereits beschrie benen Merkmale der Erfindung ergänzbar.
In den Figuren bezeichnen gleiche Bezugszeichen jeweils funktionsgleiche Elemente.
In Fig. 1 ist eine stark schematisierte Seitenansicht einer ersten Ausfüh rungsform eines Flachbettscanners 10 dargestellt. Der Flachbettscanner 10 weist ein flächiges Trägermedium 12 auf, das beispielsweise mittels einer Schichtenbauweise gefertigt ist, wobei eine erste Schicht eine Glasplatte 14 umfassen kann und eine zweite Schicht ein holographisches Element 16, das beispielsweise eine Photopolymerfolie 16 sein kann. Die Photopolymer folie 16 kann dabei auf die Glasplatte 14 aufgeklebt oder eingearbeitet sein. Das holographische Element 16 kann auf Flöhe eines Auflagebereichs 18, auf dem beispielsweise ein zu scannendes Dokument gelegt werden kann, durch geeignete Belichtung des holographischen Elements derart ausgebil det sein, dass sich eine erste Beugungsstruktur 20 ergibt, die Licht vom Auflagebereich in Richtung eines Detektorbereichs 22 in das Trägermedium 12 einkoppeln kann, was durch den Pfeil nach unten mit Spitze nach links in der ersten Beugungsstruktur 20 angedeutet ist, wobei von der ersten Beu gungsstruktur 20 auch Licht in entgegengesetzter Richtung ablenkbar ist, was zusätzlich durch den Pfeil in Rückrichtung angedeutet ist.
Der Detektorbereich kann ein holographisches Element mit einer zweiten Beugungsstruktur 24 aufweisen, die in das Trägermedium 12 eingekoppeltes Licht aus Richtung des Auflagebereichs derart beugen kann, dass es aus dem Trägermedium 12 auf eine Detektorvorrichtung 26 ausgekoppelt werden kann.
Das holographische Element im Detektorbereich 22 kann beispielsweise einstückig mit dem Trägermedium 12 als das holographische Element 16 ausgebildet sein. Es ist jedoch auch möglich, dass der Detektorbereich 22 als ein separates Element zu dem Trägermedium 12 ausgebildet ist. Vor zugsweise können die erste Beugungsstruktur 20 und die zweite Beugungs struktur 24 als ein optisches Gitter ausgebildet sein, insbesondere als ein holographisches Volumengitter oder als ein holographisches Oberflächengit ter. Ferner können die beiden Beugungsstrukturen als eine Multiplex- Beugungsstruktur ausgebildet sein. Das bedeutet, dass die Beugungsstruk turen für mehrere Wellenlängen des Lichts beziehungsweise einen Wellen längenbereich des Lichts sensitiv sind und das Licht mehrere Wellenlängen in einem vorbestimmten Winkel beugen können. Mit sensitiv ist gemeint, dass die Beugungsstruktur des holographischen Elements nur vorbestimmte Wellenlängen beugen kann, die in einem vorbestimmten Winkel auf die je weilige Beugungsstruktur trifft.
Die Detektorvorrichtung 26 kann eine flächige oder 2D Photodiodenmatrix 28 aufweisen, die beispielsweise bei einer Belichtung eines zu scannenden Dokuments im Auflagebereich 18 Bilddaten des Dokuments aufnehmen kann, vergleichbar mit einer Fotokamera. Für eine Belichtung des Auflagebe reichs beziehungsweise des zu scannenden Dokuments kann eine Lichtein kopplungsvorrichtung 30 mit einer Lichtquelle 32 vorgesehen sein, wobei die Lichtquelle 32 beispielsweise eine LED sein kann und die Lichteinkopplungs vorrichtung 30 als ein optischer Kondensor ausgebildet sein kann, der das Licht der Lichtquelle 32 auf die zweite Beugungsstruktur 24 des Detektorbe reichs abstrahlt, von wo es in das Trägermedium 12 eingekoppelt wird und anschließend von der ersten Beugungsstruktur zur Belichtung des Auflage bereichs abgestrahlt werden kann. Damit kann eine Hin- und Rückrichtung des Lichts von der Lichtquelle 32 bis zum Auflagebereich 18 über einen gleichen Weg übertragen werden, wodurch optische Komponenten und somit Kosten eingespart werden können. Da die Photodiodenmatrix 28 eine kleinere Fläche aufweisen kann als der Auflagebereich 18, kann zusätzlich vorgesehen sein, dass die erste Beu gungsstruktur 20 eine Bündelungsgitterstruktur aufweist, die Lichtstrahlen wie eine Sammellinse auf die zweite Beugungsstruktur hin fokussieren, wo bei die zweite Beugungsstruktur 24 als eine entsprechende Zerstreuungsgit terstruktur ausgebildet sein kann, die als eine Zerstreuungslinse dienen kann und die fokussierten Lichtstrahlen auf die Detektorvorrichtung parallelisieren kann. Die Bündelungsgitterstruktur und die entsprechende Zerstreuungsgit terstruktur können dabei vorzugsweise einen gemeinsamen Brennpunkt aufweisen.
In Fig. 2 ist eine stark schematisierte Seitenansicht einer zweiten beispielhaf ten Ausführungsform des Flachbettscanners 10 dargestellt. In dieser Ausfüh rungsform kann das Trägermedium 12 zusätzlich zu der Glasplatte 14 und dem holographischen Element 16 ein weiteres holographisches Element 34 aufweisen. Des Weiteren kann die Lichteinkopplungsvorrichtung 30 in die sem Ausführungsbeispiel ein Linsensystem zum Einkoppeln des von der Lichtquelle 32 abgestrahlten Lichts in das Trägermedium 12 sein, wobei die Lichteinkopplungsvorrichtung 30 in diesem Ausführungsbeispiel an einer Seite des Trägermediums angeordnet ist.
Das holographische Element 34 kann auf Höhe des Auflagebereichs 18 mit einer dritten Beugungsstruktur 36 ausgebildet sein, die das von der Licht quelle 32 eingekoppelte Licht auf den Auflagebereich beugen kann. Da nur Lichtstrahlen gebeugt werden, die in einem vorbestimmten Winkel auf eine Beugungsstruktur fallen, werden die Lichtstrahlen von der ersten Beugungs struktur 20 nicht beeinflusst und gehen durch diese und die Glasplatte 14 auf den Auflagebereich 18 hindurch, wo sie dann von einem zu scannenden Dokument wieder zurück in das Trägermedium 12 reflektiert werden können. Das von dem zu scannenden Dokument in das Trägermedium 12 reflektierte Licht kann dann die Winkelbedingung der ersten Beugungsstruktur 20 erfül len, wodurch es auf dem im ersten Ausführungsbeispiel beschriebenen Pfad zu der Detektorvorrichtung 26 übertragen werden kann. In diesem Ausführungsbeispiel kann die Detektorvorrichtung 26 eine Photo diodenzeile 38 aufweisen, die dazu ausgebildet ist, eine optische Abbildung des zu scannenden Dokuments in der Detektorvorrichtung abzufahren. Die Photodiodenzeile 38 und die Photodiodenmatrix 28 sind nicht auf die hier beschriebenen Ausführungsformen beschränkt, sondern können auch in der jeweiligen anderen Ausführungsform vorgesehen sein.
In Fig. 3 ist eine schematische Perspektivansicht einer beispielhaften Aus- führungsform des Flachbettscanners 10 dargestellt. In Fig. 3 liegt ein zu scannendes Dokument 40 auf einem Auflagebereich 18 des Trägermediums 12, wo es von einer Lichtquelle 32 beleuchtet werden kann. Die von dem Dokument 40 reflektierten Lichtstrahlen, die zurück in das Trägermedium 12 eintreten, können dann von der ersten Beugungsstruktur, die in dieser Fig. nicht gezeigt ist, abgelenkt werden und von der zweiten Beugungsstruktur 24, die beispielsweise an einem Rand des Flachbettscanners angeordnet sein kann, auf die Detektorvorrichtung 26 gebeugt werden, um die Bilddaten des Dokuments aufzunehmen. Insgesamt zeigen die Beispiele, wie durch die Erfindung ein Flachbettscan ner unter Benutzung eines holographischen Elements bereitgestellt werden kann.

Claims

PATENTANSPRÜCHE:
Flachbettscanner (10) mit
- einem flächigen Trägermedium (12), welches als Lichtleiter zum Über tragen von eingekoppeltem Licht mittels interner Reflexion ausgebil det ist und einen Auflagebereich (18) für ein zu scannendes Doku ment (40) aufweist, wobei das Trägermedium (12) ferner ein holo graphisches Element (16) umfasst, das zumindest im Auflagebe reich (18) mit einer ersten Beugungsstruktur (20) ausgebildet ist, die dazu ausgelegt ist, Licht vom Auflagebereich (18) in das Trägerme dium (12) in Richtung eines Detektorbereichs (22) einzukoppeln; - wobei der Detektorbereich (22) ein holographisches Element (16) mit einer zweiten Beugungsstruktur (24) aufweist, wobei die zweite Beugungsstruktur (24) dazu ausgelegt ist, Licht, das aus Richtung des Auflagebereichs auf die zweite Beugungsstruktur (24) fällt, aus dem Trägermedium (12) auf eine Detektorvorrichtung (26) auszu koppeln; wobei
- die Detektorvorrichtung (26) dazu ausgebildet ist, aus dem Licht Bild daten des zu scannenden Dokuments zu bestimmen; und mit - einer Lichtquelle (32), die dazu ausgebildet und angeordnet ist, den Auflagebereich auszuleuchten.
Flachbettscanner (10) nach Anspruch 1 , wobei die erste Beugungs struktur (20) und die zweite Beugungsstruktur (24) als ein optisches Git ter ausgebildet sind, insbesondere ein holographisches Volumengitter oder ein holographisches Oberflächengitter.
Flachbettscanner (10) nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei der Detektorbereich (22) einstückig mit dem Trägermedium (12) ausgebildet ist oder wobei der Detektorbereich (22) als separates Ele ment zu dem Trägermedium (12) ausgebildet ist.
Flachbettscanner (10) nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei der Detektorbereich (22) eine kleinere Abmessung als der Aufla- gebereich (18) aufweist, wobei die erste Beugungsstruktur (20) eine Bündelungsgitterstruktur aufweist, die dazu ausgebildet ist, Lichtstrah len des Lichts, das auf die erste Beugungsstruktur (20) fällt, unter schiedlich stark abzulenken, sodass die erste Beugungsstruktur (20) die Lichtstrahlen auf die zweite Beugungsstruktur (24) hin fokussiert, und wobei die zweite Beugungsstruktur (24) eine entsprechende Zerstreu ungsgitterstruktur aufweist, die dazu ausgebildet ist, Lichtstrahlen des Lichts zum Auskoppeln aus dem Trägermedium (12) auf die Detektor vorrichtung (26) zu parallelisieren.

Flachbettscanner (10) nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei die erste Beugungsstruktur (20) und die zweite Beugungsstruktur (24) als eine Multiplex-Beugungsstruktur ausgebildet sind, die dazu ausgebildet ist, Licht von zumindest zwei vorgegebenen Wellenlängen in einen vorbestimmten Winkel zu beugen.
6. Flachbettscanner (10) nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei die Detektorvorrichtung (26) als Photodiodenmatrix (28) ausge bildet ist, die dazu ausgelegt ist, Bilddaten des zu scannenden Doku- ments aufzunehmen.
7. Flachbettscanner (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, wobei die Detektorvorrichtung (26) eine Photodiodenzeile (36) aufweist, die dazu ausgebildet ist, eine optischen Abbildung des zu scannenden Doku- ments in der Detektorvorrichtung (26) abzutasten.

Flachbettscanner (10) nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei die Lichtquelle (32) zur Transmissionsmessung des zu scannen den Dokuments über dem Auflagebereich angeordnet ist oder die Lichtquelle (32) zur Reflexionsmessung des zu scannenden Dokuments unter dem Trägermedium (12) angeordnet ist.

Flachbettscanner (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, wobei ferner eine Lichteinkoppelvorrichtung (30) vorgesehen ist, die dazu ausgebil- det ist, Licht von der Lichtquelle (32) in das Trägermedium (12) auf ein weiteres holographisches Element (34) einzukoppeln, das zumindest im Auflagebereich (18) mit einer dritten Beugungsstruktur (36) ausgebildet ist, die dazu ausgelegt ist, das von der Lichtquelle (32) eingekoppelte Licht auf den Auflagebereich (18) zu beugen.

Flachbettscanner (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, wobei ferner eine Lichteinkoppelvorrichtung (30) vorgesehen ist, die dazu ausgebil det ist, Licht von der Lichtquelle (32) auf die zweite Beugungsstruktur (24) im Detektorbereich (22) abzustrahlen, wobei die zweite Beugungs struktur (24) ferner dazu ausgebildet ist, das von der Lichtquelle abge strahlte Licht in das Trägermedium (12) in Richtung der ersten Beu gungsstruktur (20) einzukoppeln.
