Description

A WASHING MACHINE COMPRISING A FLOW REGULATING LIFTER
The present invention relates to a washing machine comprising a lifter for regulating the flow of water.
In washing machines, the lifter is used for performing a more efficient washing process in the drum by tumbling the laundry. Moreover, by means of nozzles provided on the lifter, the water coming from the tub is sprayed onto the laundry. Failing to deliver the water through each nozzle at the same flow rate and regularity prevents every region of the laundry from being equally washed and causes the laundry to get damaged.
In the washing machines, the delivery of the water coming from the tube to the tub onto the laundry with a high pressure via the nozzles on the lifter in the drum causes the laundry to get damaged with the effect of the pressure.
In the state of the art European Patent Document No. EP1876282, laundry washing and drying machines are disclosed, comprising paddles with different surface structures and geometry for better tumbling and washing the laundry in the drum.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a washing machine comprising a lifter for regulating the flow of the water in the washing cycle.
In the washing machine of the present invention, the lifter comprises a reservoir for providing a more regulated water flow into the drum. Said reservoir structure enables the water coming from the tub into the lifter to be centered in the lifter and to flow through the nozzles.
In the washing machine of the present invention, the lifter comprises the reservoir composed of a base whereon the nozzles are arranged and of four walls surrounding said base. The reservoir comprises four walls surrounding said base and nozzles.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the reservoir comprises two side walls and two concave walls joining the side walls. Thus, the water is enabled to accumulate more quickly at the center.
The nozzles are arranged on the base, namely the region remaining between the side walls and the concave walls of the reservoir. Each nozzle is encircled by a barrier in the form of an elevation from the base of the reservoir in order to ensure that the water accumulates on the base of the reservoir and flows into the drum after gaining a certain potential energy. Thus, the flow starts after the water reaches a level as much as the height of the barrier from the base of the reservoir.
By means of the present invention, a washing machine is realized, comprising a lifter wherein the water is sent into the drum through each nozzle at the same flow rate.
The model embodiments relating to the washing machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention are illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 - is the perspective view of the washing machine of the present invention after the front panel is removed.
Figure 2 - is the view of the region where the water coming from the drum accumulates in an embodiment of the washing machine of the present invention.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Washing machine
  2. Body
  3. Loading port
  4. Drum
  5. Tub
  6. Pipe
  7. Lifter
  8. Nozzle
  9. Reservoir
  10. Base
  11. Side wall
  12. Opening
  13. Concave wall
  14. Barrier
The washing machine (1) comprises a body (2); a loading port (3) which is provided on the body (2); a drum (4) which is disposed in the body (2) and wherein the laundry is loaded via the loading port (3); a tub (5) wherein the drum (4) is disposed; a pipe (6) which provides the delivery of the water to the tub (5) during the washing cycle; and a lifter (7) which is disposed in the drum (4), which tumbles the laundry and which has at least one nozzle (8) for delivering the water into the drum (4) and a base (10) whereon the nozzle (8) is arranged.
The washing machine (1) of the present invention comprises the lifter (7) having a reservoir (9) comprising four walls (11, 13) which surround the nozzles (8) and which enable the water to flow into the drum (4) with a regulated flow as a result of the pressure formed by the accumulation of the water on the region of the base (10) where the nozzles (8) are arranged.
In the washing machine (1) of the present invention, at least one lifter (7) is provided for delivering the water received into the tub (5) by means of the pipe (6) from the water mains onto the laundry loaded into the drum (4) via the loading port (3). Said lifter (7) ensures that the laundry is tumbled during the washing process and the water is delivered onto the laundry in the drum (4) through the nozzles (8) arranged on the base (10). The reservoir (9) comprises the four walls (11, 13) which surround the nozzles (8) arranged on the base (10) at the inner volume of the lifter (7) which receives the water coming from the drum (4). Thus, after the water reaches the lifter (7), the water is accumulated and centered in the reservoir (9) so as to be delivered, after reaching a certain volume, through each nozzle (8) at the same flow rate under a certain pressure into the drum (4).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises the lifter (7) comprising the reservoir (9) having two side walls (11) and two concave walls (13) joining the side walls (11). The reservoir (9) volume formed by the concave walls (13) and the side walls (11) enables the water to be accumulated at a region closer to the nozzles (8) and to be centered more quickly.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises the lifter (7) having an opening (12) which is provided on the side wall (11) and/or the concave wall (13) for facilitating the water flow into the reservoir (9). Thus, a guiding path is formed which enables the water to be accumulated in the reservoir (9) even if the water received by the lifter (7) flows to a region away from the nozzles (8).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises the lifter (7) having a barrier (14) which encircles the nozzle (8) and which enables the water to flow into the drum (4) through every nozzle (8) at the same time and the same flow rate. By encircling the nozzles (8) by means of the barriers (14) in the form of an elevation from the base (10) of the reservoir (9), the water received by the lifter (7) flows into the drum (4) through the nozzles (8) after reaching a level as much as the height of the barrier (14) in the reservoir (9). Thus, thanks to the potential energy of the water accumulated on the base (10), the water flows through every nozzle (8) at the same time and the same flow rate.
By means of the present invention, a washing machine (1) is realized, wherein the water is delivered into the drum (4) from the lifter (7) in a regulated manner during the washing process.
