Description

PM mask and inhalation device
The subject-matter of the invention is an autonomous mask protecting against particulate matter, in particular as an urban mask, a dust mask or an antidust and anti-microbial mask, an anti-smog mask and an inhalation device.
Known solutions of this type usually consist of a piece of cloth or plastic formed in such a way as to cover mouth and nose, and a single- or multi-stage filtration system.
Patent No. US4141703A applies to a polymer dust mask equipped with a multi-stage filter.
Application No. KR20110022975 A relates to a mask with a medicinal plant grounded to fine powder and wrapped inside the cloth of the mask.
Patent No. CA2337434 relates to a mask with an exhalation valve to facilitate expiration.
Among the known masks are solutions that allow inhalation of medicinal plants grounded to a powder, with beneficial effects but limited convenience for clients from urban areas. In case of most modem masks, the starting point is a mask equipped with a single or multi-stage filter. A known and beneficial solution in mask production, including masks that perform additional functions, is to include a valve that facilitates exhalation and limits evaporation onto the mask.
The purpose of the solution is to enable inhalation using a mask that can function independently and not constituting part of a larger system, and to combine flow techniques, and elements shaping and throttling the flow, in a way that allows for more a effective use of the inhaled substance.
The mask according to the invention is in the form of a mask protecting against dust equipped with a solid container with features allowing it to be used for inhalation and equipped with a flow channel to which the solid container is attached. Its effectiveness increases when connected to the vent of the flow mask by means of at least two vents, especially when the end of at least one of these vents is inside a flow channel built into the mask housing. It is possible to limit the consumption of the substance inhaled at expiration in an embodiment in which at least one of the vents from the container for a solid for inhalation is equipped with a one-way valve. Additional beneficial effects are achieved when the container for a solid for inhalation can be opened, preferably in a hinged manner. It is desirable for the flow channel to have at least one filter. It is expedient for this filter to be outside of the vents of the container for a solid. An additional beneficial effect can be achieved in an embodiment equipped with at least one filter on the inside of the mask housing - preferably with the filter or filters being replaceable. Additional beneficial effects can be achieved when at least some of the filters fitted to the mask meet the EPA standards, preferably the HEPA13 standard. Additional beneficial effects can be achieved when at least some of the filters on the mask are biologically reactive, preferably made from bamboo fiber or activated carbon. Additional beneficial effects can be achieved when one or more filters fitted inside the mask are chemical filters. One or more vents of the container for the inhalable solid preferably is equipped with a pinch valve. Additional benefits may be provided by the embodiment in which a filter or filters with a lower coefficient of aerodynamic drag are used for the flow channel than for the filter or filters located on the inside of the mask housing. An additional beneficial effect is possible to be achieved in the embodiment in which the solid body for inhalation has a built-in partition, especially if it is located between the outlets inside the container for the solid.
The device according to the invention has the form of a device for inhalation equipped with a container for a solid for inhalation, characterized in that it has the form of an autonomous mask, preferably a mask protecting from dust, most preferably an anti-smog mask, equipped with a container for a solid, preferably openable, preferably attached to the outside on the back of the mask housing and the outlet of the container for a solid is located more on the inside of the mask compared to the container for a solid, preferably located on the inside of the mask or at least one filter. Its effectiveness increases when it is connected to the mask's flow channel, especially by means of at least two vents, especially when the end of at least one of these vents is inside the flow channels built into the mask housing. It is possible to limit the consumption of the substance inhaled at expiration in an embodiment in which at least one of the vents from the container for the solid for inhalation is equipped with a one-way valve. One or more channels of the inhalable solid container preferably is equipped with a pinch valve. Additional benefits may be provided by the embodiment in which a filter or filters with a lower coefficient of aerodynamic drag are used for the flow went than for the filter or filters located on the inside of the mask housing. An additional beneficial effect is possible to be achieved in the embodiment in which the container for a solid for inhalation has a built-in partition, especially if it is located between the outlets inside the container for a solid.
The inhalation device is shown in an exemplary embodiment, where in which Fig. 1 shows the device in the form of a mask equipped with a container for a solid for inhalation, opened on hinges, in front view, Fig. 2 is the mask from Fig. 1. in a side view and Fig. 3 is an isometric cross-section through the mask from Fig. 1.
Fig. 4 shows the container for a solid for inhalation of the device of Fig. 1, in the open position, along with the channels, one-way valve and pinch valve in a side view, and Fig. 5 shows the container for a solid for inhalation with vents, the one-way valve and the pinch valve of Fig. 4. in the isometric view.
As shown in Fig. 1 the device in the embodiment has a container for a solid for inhalation 1 , hinged, with two vents 3 whose ends are inside the flow channel
2 connected to the mask housing 6. The outlet of one of the vents 3 is equipped with a one-sided valve 4. Inside the flow channel 2 there is a filter 5. Both channels
3 are equipped with a pinch valve 7. The container for a solid 1 has a partition 8, located inside the container for a solid 1 , between the vent outlets 3.
The subject matter according to the invention allows for easy inhalation using a substance placed in an openable container. The flow channel located in the housing allows for the creation of a draft that sends the inhalation substance to the user during inspiration. One-way valve inside the vent from the container, leading to the flow channel mounted in the mask housing, allows to minimize the consumption of inhaled substance during exhalation. The additional one-sided valve, allowing the outflow of air, facilitates breathing and limits evaporation inside the mask. The embodiment in which not only the flow channel, but also the inner part of the housing is equipped with an air filter, allows to achieve a mask with a maximized gas exchange surface. Opening the container for a solid in a hinged manner allows to change the inhalation substance in the container without having to remove the container. Placing the filter inside or on the housing of the flow channels allows the shaping of the flow and using the features of the elements behind the filter in the flow channel on purified air. The use of filters that meet EPA and HEPA standards allows to reduce the effect of dust. The use of biologically reactive filters reduces the harmful effects of bioaerosols - including fungal, bacterial and viral bioaerosols. The use of one or more chemical filters allows to chemically remove many groups of substances, e.g. volatile organic compounds. The use of a filter or filters with a lower coefficient of aerodynamic drag than for the filter or filters located on the inside of the mask housing allows for increased benefits in the form of better control of the nature of the flow and the degree of use of the inhalation substance inside the container for a solid. The use of a partition, especially one located in a way that partly encloses the outlets of the vents inside the container for a solid allows to shape the air flow inside the container in a way that increases its interaction with the inhalation substance located in the container for a solid. The use of the subject-matter according to the invention allows, in addition to limiting external harmful factors, to treat, among others, sinuses, throat, larynx, trachea, bronchi and lungs and to facilitate steroid therapy. It allows for proper hydration of the respiratory tract and elimination of fungal, bacterial and viral infections. Depending on the substance used, it may also have additional effects, such as loosening of the mucous secretion or opening up the narrowed airways, regenerating the ciliated epithelium or eliminating bronchial smooth muscle spasm.
