L'invention porte sur un dispositif qui sert à limiter une force appliquée par un outil sur un objet cible, l'adaptateur comprenant une première partie, et un élément déformable agencé pour entrer en contact avec la première partie et se déformer lors de l'application de la force par l'outil sur dispositif. La première partie et l'élément déformable sont agencés pour définir un trajet de charge entre des premier et second côtés du dispositif. L'élément déformable est conçu pour se déformer lorsque la force passant par le trajet de charge est supérieure à un premier niveau prédéterminé, ce qui permet d'absorber une première quantité de la force, de façon à transmettre une force résultante à l'objet cible qui n'est pas supérieure au premier niveau prédéterminé.
