Description

A NUTRACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING BAD BREATH
AND BOOSTING IMMUNITY
EARLIEST PRIORITY DATE:
This International Application claims priority from a Provisional patent application filed in India having Patent Application No. 201941005347, filed on February 11, 2019 and titled“NUTRACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING BAD BREATH AND BOOSTING IMMUNITY”.
FIELD OF INVENTION
Embodiments of a present disclosure relate to a nutraceutical composition and more particularly it relates a nutraceutical composition for boosting immunity and preventing bad breath.
BACKGROUND
Consumption of tobacco is very common in Indian sub-continent. The tobacco is consumed in different forms such as a chewing tobacco, part of mouth fresheners, gutkha, paan masala, etc.
Tobacco use affects almost every major organ and system in the body causing a great deal of morbidity and untimely death. Tobacco use in any form can cause cancers in different organs/sites in the body including the mouth, throat, larynx (voice box), brain, esophagus, lungs, gall bladder, kidney and breast. Tobacco also causes many other disorders such as heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, stroke, blindness, tooth and gum diseases etc. [Tobacco smoke and involuntary smoking/IARC Working Group on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans (IARC monographs on the evaluation of carcinogenic risks to humans: vol. 83); Tobacco Habits Other than Smoking; Betel-Quid and Areca-Nut Chewing/IARC Working Group on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans (IARC monographs on the evaluation of the carcinogenic risk of chemicals to humans: vol. 37]. Nearly 45% of all cancers among males and 17% among females in India and more than 80% of oral cancers are directly attributable to tobacco use [NCRP-Consolidated Report of Hospital Based Cancer Registries 2007-2011, National Cancer Registry Programme (Indian Council of Medical Research), Bangalore, 2013].
There are various products including mouth freshers available to public at large which are not natural or organic and use tobacco as stimulator. These products and mouth fresheners also contain added chemical preservatives, artificial flavours & colours not good for health. Such products are habit forming and eventually leads full-fledged tobacco consumption.
Therefore, an alternative product is required which is totally natural, has nutraceutical properties and help in getting rid of unhealthy chewing habits.
SUMMARY
In accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure, a nutraceutical composition for preventing bad breath and boosting immunity is provided. The nutraceutical composition includes base ingredients, and a plurality of additives. The base ingredients include a plurality of nuts and raisin (dried berries of grapes, Vitis vinifera/vitaceae), wherein the nuts used herein includes almonds ( Prunus dulcis ), cashew nuts ( Anacardium occidentale L), and pistachios ( Pistacia vera). The nutraceutical composition includes 11-31% w/w almonds; 11-31% w/w cashews; 11-31% w/w pistachios; 11-31% w/w raisins; and 6-30 % w/w plurality of additives.
In accordance with another embodiment of the present disclosure, the plurality of additives comprises a plurality of natural flavouring agents. The plurality of natural flavouring agents comprises 6-25% w/w of the nutraceutical composition. Such an embodiment is more suitable to be used as a dry fruit refresher by the user. The dry fruit refresher which can be a substitute for a mouth freshener for alleviating mood and improving oral hygiene. In such embodiment, the nutraceutical composition preferably includes 20 % w/w almonds; 20 % w/w cashews; 20 % w/w pistachios;
20 % w/w raisins; and 20 % w/w plurality of walnuts.
In accordance with another embodiment of the present disclosure, the plurality of additives comprises walnuts. The walnuts comprise 10-30% of the nutraceutical composition. This embodiment is more suitable to be used as a health booster. It is to be understood that the health booster composition is useful for people engaged in physical activities rather than people having a sedentary lifestyle. In such embodiment, the nutraceutical composition preferably includes 21 % w/w almonds;
21 % w/w cashews; 21 % w/w pistachios; 21 % w/w raisins; and 16 % w/w plurality of additives.
In another embodiment of the present disclosure, the plurality of additives comprises a plurality of nutritive substances. The nutraceutical composition of the present embodiment being prepared for imparting health benefits such as preventing infections, anti-inflammatory, anti- diabetic and boosting immunity. In such embodiment, the nutraceutical composition preferably includes 11-31% w/w almonds; 11-31% w/w cashews; 11-31% w/w pistachios; 11-31% w/w raisins; and 6-30 % w/w nutritive substances.
