Description

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EMBEDDING THE REGIONAL BROADCASTS OF THE DIFFERENT LOCATIONS INTO THE GENERAL BROADCAST STREAM
Technical Area The invention relates to a system and method for inserting local-based broadcast parts of regions having different locations within a general broadcast stream and for decoding these parts on the part of the receiver at the respective location.
State of the Art
Advances in digital communications and communication technologies have led to many ways for the advertisers and those giving advertisements to reach their targeted consumer groups and allow them to be effective.
The traditional broadcast models where the same ad or content is seen by all users are quickly replaced by broadcast models with local ad content. Adding local content into the broadcast can be done in multiple cable TV systems, set-top boxes, and internet content distribution networks.
In the existing broadcast systems, the main broadcast content (1 ) and the ad content (A) playback servers play their content according to the stream plan prepared by the operators in the stream identifier (B). This content is distributed to users via an audio and video encoder (6) and a multiplexer (7) via distribution channels (8), such as satellite, terrestrial, cable (Figure 4). On the user’s side, the demodulated signal is transmitted to the television after passing through the audio and video decoder (10) (Figure 5).
In today's systems, to define the insertion point, the streaming content network provides an out-of-band identification mark that determines the insertion point that guarantees the placement of uninterrupted local content. This can be a Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) beacon tone, an SCTE-35 message, or an ad insertion trigger. This marker is transmitted from the transmission source out of the band, synchronized with the insertion point to the audio-video content over the network. In these systems, each insertion point in the transmission source must be defined to identify and send the corresponding markers for the specified insertion point.
W02006097825 in the prior art, discloses a system and method for household targeted advertising. The set top box is intended to deliver targeted ads to the targeted user. This system is specifically programmed for an Internet protocol (IP) stack. Also on the system, personalized ads are delivered to the user by pulling on from a media storage device using SCTE-35 tips. This arrangement puts the TV channels that offer broadcast content into a continuous workflow with the media storage institutions, but causes the workflows of channels to be interrupted in instant broadcast changes. In addition, as the number of channels that want to broadcast increases, the media storage workflow can reach unrealistic dimensions.
Another application US2006075449 discloses architecture for digital program insertion in video streams delivered over packet networks. A head-end unit inserts Internet protocol (IP) splice points into a digital video transport stream embedded with cue tone signals. It also adds a specific ad to the insertion points placed at the header end to customize the content based on demographic information by using an insertion mechanism. This architecture, developed for streaming over the Internet, is not suitable for the existing transmission channels designed for televisions. US2005015816 discloses a system and method of providing event commands triggered by digital program insertion of a DVS380 compliant message extracted to determine the point at which a program and local content is inserted. In these works of the prior art, there is a complex workflow when there are hundreds of ad content planned for local displacements at different insertion points. This reveals that while this arrangement makes today's systems slow and unrealistic in the long run, there is no method to increase the spectrum of local ads.
To identify when and where the content of the broadcast is changed, a combination of a watermark and a fingerprint is used in the document WO2013008255. At the point where the broadcast is to be changed, the broadcast captured from the data store is activated for transmission to the location. However, the need to establish a separate insertion point for each target location stands out as a factor increasing the workload and costs. Another disadvantage is that the aforementioned system cannot be used in wireless broadcasts.
Purpose of the Invention
The system and method according to the invention aims at embedding local location- based broadcasts into national and international broadcasts and introducing a location-based broadcast concept. Within the scope of the invention, local content can be also added using satellite broadcast and terrestrial broadcasting in addition to the cable broadcasting system. Accordingly, the audience in the local environment is targeted by going beyond the usual broadcasting concept. The local audience is exposed to advertisements, news or presentations that are relevant to the region where they are, and they are kept away from the less relevant broadcasts. As the workflows have been solved by the Channels themselves, the content that is more relevant to the viewer can be broadcasted and more flexible broadcasting can be achieved. In addition, the messages and contents which are intended to be delivered to the audience in a location will be delivered more efficiently and with a higher return.
The present invention proposes to add continuous content by in-band compression and encryption method to define at which locations and when the broadcast content can be modified. Apart from the normal program run by the Channel, the content prepared individually for each destination location is passed through the compression and encryption module and different ID numbers are assigned for each location. When the local content added in the band reaches the users in different locations, the location content matching the corresponding ID is decoded and sorted out by the decrypting and sorting module and the sorted content is presented to the user. The invention enables the TV and radio channels to broadcast different contents in different locations and personalized advertisement. After the contents prepared separately for each location is packed, encrypted and compressed, they are transmitted to the user by different ways (satellite broadcast, cable or terrestrial broadcasting), the broadcast processes pertaining to the location is performed by decoding the package by means of the user-owned decoder (Decoder-GPS, set-top box) or the GPS circuit-added-TV within the scope of the invention. The system is not static due to the GPS-based operation and the locations can be expanded and narrowed by the operator as the location coverage areas can be easily changed based on GPS location values.
No additional costs will be incurred in the system where the operators are able to instruct from the center for any location change. This dynamic system is more efficient for advertisers. For example, in his first work, the advertiser targets City A, while in another work he can target cities A, B, C. To do this, the compression and encryption module needs to be defined with the appropriate ID values of cities A, B and C according to the GPS data. Description of Figures

Detailed Description of the Invention
In this detailed description, preferred embodiments of the invention are described only for a better understanding of the subject.
The system according to the invention provides the insertion of local-based broadcast parts of regions having different locations within a general broadcast stream and allows the user at the respective location to decode these parts.
In the broadcast side of the system shown in Figure 1 , the regional content (2) consisted by the broadcasts and advertisements prepared for different locations is encrypted, compressed and packed to the locations of the designated regions, together with the main broadcast content (1 ) or separately, with an identity (ID) assigned according to the GPS data, by means of the compression and encryption module (3). The main stream content (1 ) and regional content (2) can be packed and broadcasted together, or transmitted separately to the change module (4) on the broadcast side, where it is decided to broadcast which one upon the instruction of the operator. Once the broadcast content is modulated by passing through a transmission layer (5), it is encoded by the audio and encoder (6). The signal passing through a multiplexer (7) is broadcasted via different distribution channels (8) such as satellite broadcast, terrestrial broadcasting, cable broadcasting.
On the side of the receiver/user as shown in Figure 2, the signal from the distribution channel (8) is first demodulated and then sent to the decrypting and sorting module (9). If the incoming signal belongs only to the main broadcast content (1 ), the signal is transmitted to the display device (1 1 ) after the audio and video are decoded in the decoder (10). If there are regional contents (2) in the incoming signal, the separating module (91 ) separates the regional contents (2) and the main broadcasting content (1 ), if any, the location module (92) identifies the identity information corresponding to the location information received from the set-top box or display device (1 1 ) and the decoding module (93) decodes the broadcast data that matches the identity information. The content, which is kept subject to these operations in the decrypting and sorting module (9), is then transmitted to the display device (1 1 ).
The method for the system of the present invention comprises the following processing steps:
• The regional contents (2) consisted by the broadcasts and advertisements prepared for different locations are encrypted, compressed and packed in the compression and encryption module (3), together with the main broadcast content (1 ) or individually, with an ID assigned according to the locations of the designated regions, when the main broadcast content (1 ) and the regional contents (2) are not packed together, the broadcast change module (4), to which they are transmitted, decides which content is to be transmitted to the user side. • The broadcast signal is modulated, coded and transmitted via a distribution channel (8).
• After demodulating the broadcast signal coming to the user side, the decrypting and sorting module (9) checks whether it contains regional content (2), and if the signal belongs only to the main broadcast content (1 ), it is transmitted to the display device (1 1 ) without processing, if the signal involves regional contents (2) together with the main content (1 ) or individually, they are sorted out; the content corresponding to the location information received from the set-top box or display device (1 1 ) is decoded and transmitted to the display device
(1 1 ).

3. A system according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that it comprises a broadcast change module (4) which the main stream content (1 ) and regional contents (2) are transmitted to before being transmitted to the distribution channel (8) and which decides which broadcasts are to be transmitted to the user side.
4. A method for inserting local-based broadcast parts of regions having different locations within a general broadcast stream and decoding these parts on the side of receiver at the respective location, characterized in that it comprises the following processing steps: the regional contents (2) consisted by the broadcasts and advertisements prepared for different locations are encrypted, compressed and packed in the compression and encryption module (3), together with the main broadcast content (1 ) or individually, with an identity assigned according to the locations of the designated regions; the broadcast signal is modulated, coded and transmitted via a distribution channel (8); after demodulating the broadcast signal coming to the user side, the decrypting and sorting module (9) checks whether it contains regional content (2),
