Description
TITLE: METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN VIA COMBINATION OF TOOLS USED TOGETHER IN CONCERT
TECHNICAL FIELD [0001] The present subject matter in general relates to development of children by creative learning techniques, and in particular, relates to a system and a method for educating children and developing their mental skills via a combination of different tools used together in concert.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Education is an important tool for enhancing knowledge and skills of human beings. The process of learning starts at a very early age for children. Even within a few years from their birth, children start learning through informal settings, where different types of educational methods, such as storytelling, discussions etc., are used by parents to teach children. Over the years, the process of imparting education has transformed from formal teaching techniques to creative teaching techniques. Such creative teaching methodologies ensure that learning is fun and interesting for children, aligned with their interests, leading to longer-lasting learning that leaves an impact.
[0003] Garments, for example with removable pockets, are known to be used as one of the tools for imparting education to children. In some cases, spellings and graphics are printed upside down, i.e. facing the child as they look downwards, on a garment. However, the learning techniques in garments known in the art are limited to printing of alphabets or shapes and can be unexciting for children over a period of usage. Further, garments with education material shown via art are generally limited to children with an age group from pre -primary level to primary level.
[0004] Therefore, there is a well-felt need for a method and a system that provides a creative learning technique for imparting education to children of different age groups by using a combination of different tools used together in concert to provide a more holistic, and thus longer- lasting learning experience, with the realization that with the power of an immersive experience, and mixed media learning, children take away more from the learning matter and remember what they learnt rather than simply regurgitating information.

As shown in Figure 12, the pattern 110 configured as animal Zoo in the hard box 104 is coloured by the user, and then critical reasoning exercise of sticking the animal shapes / stickers 106a as per their habitat is performed to make an animal Zoo that is reusable later for free play, or as a storage solution in accordance with one embodiment of the present subject matter.
[00060] The subject matter described herein provides multi-dimensional immersive learning to children. The garments employed for the present process includes one or combination of dresses, jumpers, coats, t-shirts, pyjamas, nightwear or like articles of wearing apparel wherein said articles provide learning and utility.
[00061] The subject matter describes a process and system of educating, testing, and developing a child via a combination of tools used in concert, including but not limited to, a packaging box via which physical (aka soft and hard motor) skills are developed, instructions are applied and an end goal is reached, a tissue / paper which utilises and teaches critical thinking, reasoning & deduction, as well as categorization of things, and an educational garment which teaches primary and specific skills such as recognition and application of categorization, colour, numbers, shape, reading, exploring as well as using media and design.
[00062] The method for mental development of children by combination of tools in concert, according to the present subject matter, includes comprehensive and cohesive combining of at least one garment article that is suitably formed with at least one pattern comprising one or combination of embroidered text and shapes, face up graphics, pictures, numbers, drawings, and other materials and designs for reading, learning, sustainable education, and comprehensive education, in one or more themes of interest to children as well as the at least one packaging equipment comprising at
least one engaging means, such as a colourable world map, games, decorative patterns, drawings, sketches and other material printed on the at least one packaging equipment, together with at least one reading and graphic material comprising one or combination of themed books, colouring pens, instructions manual combination of water paint and paint brush, glued stickers and other stationery materials, thereby providing multi-dimensional immersive learning to children.
[00063] In an embodiment, the theme for the proposed process and the system includes plants & animals. In such a theme, categorisation of animals, as well as colours, numbers, families, shapes, homes, items of food, footprints, etc. among others, are taught to children via tools like packaging material as well as garments.
[00064] In a preferred embodiment, the educational concept displayed on the garment are selected from a number of themes to stimulate a child's interest, challenge, expand the child's vocabulary, and help the child to learn alphabets, concepts, numbers, spellings etc. using the medium of embroidery in one embodiment. Embroidery stimulates the learning via senses of fingertips to build understanding of phonetic sound A and the feeling of how the letter A is spelled. The same concept can be applied to whole spellings and shapes, of any category, concept, colour, count etc.
[00065] In different embodiments, the learning material may comprise embroidered text and shapes, face up graphics, take -apart and assemble boxes with different themes, and other materials for learning, sustainable education, and comprehensive education.
[00066] The present subject matter in an embodiment uses the medium of cloth, embroidery, cardboard, paper, butter tissue, wrapping paper, books and toys together with instructions to the parent to help build a long lasting bonding experience and emotional connection with the child. In a preferred embodiment, instructions are provided by means of a separate instruction manual. In other embodiments, the instructions may be printed on the packaging and / or printed or embroidered on the garment. This can be done via the framework of nighttime rituals, such as stories, to invoke education in prime and specific areas of learning, thereby enhancing physical, emotional, and intellectual development of the child. The night time story telling as a concept is used to build and foster an emotional and intimate connection between parents and children by the process of nighttime stories and rituals, during which characters can be pointed at on the child’s clothing and alphabets can be traced on the clothing. The pressure applied by the fingertip of a parent and closeness at sleep time can be soothing and relaxing, thereby enabling a child to sleep
sooner. In addition, using the stories as nighttime rituals is very stabilizing for a child, and stable, well-cared for children make more responsible, emotionally mature and capable adults.
[00067] The present subject matter places different elements of the clothing, packaging, text, reading, and information together in a context that has not been done before, so that education is multi-dimensional and immersive in nature. In addition, a link is created between reusability, sustainability and non-toxicity, via the product and its packaging, which then teaches children on reusability and upcyclability of packaging material, which is normally seen as quickly disposable. The present subject matter helps to develop a comprehensive framework of learning using the packaging box, toy, tissue, garment, books, and nighttime stories for multi-sensory stimulation of a child.
[00068] The comprehensiveness and methodology to arrive at the solution of emotional, sensitized and well-rounded individuals in a society is one of the most important by-products of the present process and system.
[00069] The present subject matter provides broad based way of learning and ensures that teaching concepts are conveyed to the children in a fun way. The physical, intellectual and emotional development through the proposed process and system at very early stages of their childhood eventually results in children grow up as well-rounded and model citizens.
[00070] The present subject matter enables connection of one thing to another in education, such as a toy or a book to a nightwear, to a critical reasoning and categorization exercise, to a box opening, using different aspects of a child’s learning.
[00071] The present subject matter expands the range of mediums to be used for learning techniques to be a cohesive approach of learning via cloth, textures, embroidery, cardboard, paper, butter tissue / wrapping paper, books and toys, together with instructions/information for parents on how to use the above. These mediums used together would help in heightening the sensitivity of children towards what they’re wearing, how things feel against their skin, what different textures feel like, and how different phonetic sounds translate to the feeling of the alphabet and how it is spelled.
[00072] The present subject matter further enables physical, intellectual and emotional development of children, thereby leading to the eventual development of more well-rounded citizens.
[00073] While the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described hereinabove, it should be understood that various changes, adaptations, and modifications may be made therein without departing from the spirit of the invention and the scope of the appended
claims. It will be obvious to a person skilled in the art that the present invention may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from its spirit or essential characteristics. The described embodiments are to be considered in all respects only as illustrative and not restrictive.
