- the abbreviated address is a brief summary of the destination address so that the courier can easily check the destination address from the waybill attached to the package. Therefore, since the courier figures out the delivery area in charge, the courier can deliver the package just based on the brief summary.
- the destination address abbreviating unit 120 extracts the feature point from the destination address so that the feature point can be considered as the abbreviated address. More specifically, the feature point of the destination address may mean application of a building or a name thereof which is analyzed from the destination address.
- Fig. 3 is a view schematically illustrating the plurality of destination addresses stored in the database 170 of the parcel delivery service server 100 according to one embodiment of the invention.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 newly classifies and stores application of the building corresponding to the respective addresses which is different from a conventional classification system by application of a building.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 hierarchically classifies the application of the building into three types, i.e., major classification, medium classification and minor classification.
- major classification the building is classified into residential, commercial and public buildings.
- medium classification the building is classified into housings and buildings.
- minor classification the building is classified into townhouses, shopping malls, public facilities and residences, without using a clear name of the building.
- the destination address abbreviating unit 120 can select the application of the building as a representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address, if the destination address consists of a road name address.
- the destination address abbreviating unit 120 can select the representative name by application of the building, as mentioned in Table 1.
- Building Representative Name Residential Building name e.g., 00 Apartment
- Commercial Business name e.g., 00 coffee shop
- Public Facility name e.g., power generator
- the destination address abbreviating unit 120 extracts a characteristic word (representative name) by application of the building, and selects the detailed address (e.g., block or unit) to be followed by the word as the final abbreviated address which is written on the waybill.
- the destination address abbreviating unit 120 may select a name of the building written on the last phrase of the land-lot address as the representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address. For example, in the case where the destination address is 'A Building, 58-12 Seosomun-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, Korea', the 'A Building' which is the last phrase is selected as the representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address, and the detailed address followed by the 'A Building' is selected as the abbreviated address.
- the destination address converting unit 130 converts the destination address received by the package receiving unit 110 into an address format.
- the address format corresponds to a format of road name address or a format of land-lot address.
- the land-lot address has the format illustrated in Table 2
- the road name address has the format illustrated in Table 3.
- the destination address converting unit 130 syntax-analyzes the destination address prepared by the sender. After the destination address converting unit 130 determines whether the destination address is written in the form of the land-lot address or the road name address, the destination address converting unit 130 aligns the destination address according to each format.
- the destination address converting unit 130 standardizes the aligned destination addresses. The standardization is to correct the destination address so that the destination address completely coincides with the format of land-lot address or road name address. For example, if the aligned destination address is '110 Sejongdae-ro, Seoul, Korea', the destination address converting unit 130 inserts 'Jung-gu' which is information on a local government and is omitted from the address of interest, to correct the address '110 Sejongdae-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, Korea'.
- the destination address converting unit 130 inserts the street address '58-12' of the address of interest to correct the address 'A Building, 58-12 Seosomun-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, Korea'.
- the destination address converting unit 130 can check and correct an error by word of the standardized destination address. More specifically, the destination address converting unit 130 can correct the word which is not suitable for proper noun orthography or spelling system indicative of the address information. For example, if the standardized destination address is 'A Muilding, 58-12 Seosumun-dong, Jong-gu, Seoul, Korea', the destination address converting unit 130 corrects 'Jong-gu' to 'Jung-gu', 'Seosumun-dong' to 'Seosomun-dong', and 'Muilding' to 'Building' in 'A Muilding, 58-12 Seosumun-dong, Jong-gu, Seoul, Korea'.
- the destination address converting unit 130 can determine the typographical error of 'Jong-gu' based on the database for names of local governments which belong to 'Seoul', and can determine the typographical error of 'Muilding' based on the database for words referring to buildings, such as a building, a housing, or an apartment.
- the destination address verifying unit 140 verifies whether the destination address converted by the destination address converting unit 130 exists or not, before the destination address is converted into the abbreviated address. For example, if the destination address converted by the destination address converting unit 130 corresponds to the format of land-lot address, the destination address verifying unit 140 determines existence of the address of interest on the basis of administrative Dongs or statutory Dongs. If the destination address is the format of road name address, the destination address verifying unit 140 determines existence of the address of interest on the basis of building managing numbers. In this instance, if the converted destination address does not exist, the destination address verifying unit 140 returns the address of interest to the destination address converting unit 130, and the destination address converting unit 130 again performs the process of converting the address from the destination address.
- the destination address printing unit 150 prints separately the abbreviated address, which is set by the destination address abbreviating unit 120, on the waybill corresponding to the package.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 can separately print only the abbreviated address on the waybill of a sticker type which is attached to the package.
- the separate printing includes a process of printing letters of different font on one sheet of waybill, and a process of attaching a different waybill with the abbreviated address onto the waybill written with the information on the sender, the receiver and the package.
- the abbreviated address printed by the destination address printing unit 150 can be printed on the waybill in the visually and easily distinguishable form.
- the abbreviated address can be printed in the form of letters of large and bold font in comparison with the destination address, or letters of a different color which is distinguishable from other letters printed on the waybill, or a watermark.
- the control unit 160 controls the parcel delivery service server 100, the destination address abbreviating unit 120, the destination address converting unit 130, the destination address verifying unit 140 and the destination address printing unit 150.
- the control unit 160 is a central processing unit, and may include at least one operation unit to control the whole operation of the parcel delivery service server 100.
- the operation unit includes, a general-purpose central processing unit, a programable device (CPLD and FPGA) developed for a particular use, an integrated circuit customized for a particular use (ASIC), and a micro control chip.
- the database 170 includes a volatile or non-volatile recording medium, and can manage various information on the destination address.
- the database 170 includes information on the application of buildings corresponding to the road name addresses and the land-lot addresses, information on types of buildings, information on couriers of each delivery area which is set based on the road name addresses and the land-lot addresses, and the abbreviated address corresponding to the respective destination address.
- the representative name for setting the abbreviated address includes a substitute word of the respective destination address to be inputted from a terminal of the courier which corresponds to the delivery area, and the database may be stored with information on setting of letters of the abbreviated address to be displayed on the waybill from the terminal of the courier.
- Fig. 4 is a view illustrating a method for setting the substitute word to abbreviate the destination address of the package by the courier according to one embodiment of the invention.
- the courier in charge of the delivery area of interest can designate the name to distinguish the respective complexes.
- the courier can provide the parcel delivery service server 100 with such information through the terminal held by the courier, and the database 170 manages the information.
- the configuration of the parcel delivery service server 100 according to one embodiment of the invention has been described hereinbefore, and the method for abbreviating the destination address of the package by use of the parcel delivery service server 100 will now be described.

- the parcel delivery service server 100 can store names of the sender and receiver, telephone numbers, the destination address, and a reference number of the received waybill, as well as receiving description of the items (e.g., item names, quantities and kinds).
- the parcel delivery service server 100 converts the destination address of the received package into the standardized format according to the address format.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 syntax-analyzes and aligns the destination address (S110-1), and converts the syntax-analyzed destination address into the standardized format (S110-2). For example, the parcel delivery service server 100 divides the destination address by syntactic word, on the basis of the method of writing the road name address or the land-lot address, and aligns the divided destination address according to each format. The parcel delivery service server 100 can correct the destination address to have a format completely suitable for the format of road name address or the format of land-lot address.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 analyzes the standardized destination address by syntactic word, and verifies whether or not there is wrong writing, and if yes, the parcel delivery service server 100 corrects the wrongly written address (S110-3).
- the conversion of the destination address so as to set the abbreviated address is completed by the above process.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 performs a process of determining the existence of the destination address for the purpose of the accurate delivery (S110-4).
- the existence of the destination address can be determined by the existence of the building which is determined on the basis of the administrative Dong or the statutory Dong when the destination address is the format of land-lot address, or by the existence of the building which is determined on the basis of the building managing number when the destination address if the format of street name address.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 receives the package, obtains the destination address of the received package, and analyzes the destination address by syntactic word to determine whether there is an error in the destination address.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 can set the abbreviated address of the package based on the received destination address.
- step S110-4 If it is determined in step S110-4 that the obtained or converted destination address does not exist (NO in step S110), the parcel delivery service server 100 again converts the destination address of the package. In this instance, if the destination address does not exist even after reconversion, the parcel delivery service server 100 can send error information on the destination address to the receiver or sender of the package.
- step S110-4 if it is determined in step S110-4 that the obtained or converted destination address exists (YES in step S110), the parcel delivery service server 100 extracts the feature points from the destination address, and sets the abbreviated address of the package (S120).
- the feature point is a concept including the application of the building or the name of the building which is analyzed through the destination address, and the parcel delivery service server 100 can utilize the information which is hierarchically classified from the application of the building by address.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 classifies the destination address on the basis of the application of the building which is hierarchically classified (S120-1), and selects at least one of the representative name and the detailed address of the destination address according to the results of classification (S120-2).
- the application of the building is generally classified into residential, commercial and public buildings, and the representative name which is set as the abbreviated address may be different from each other according to each application.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 can select the building name as the representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address if the application of the building corresponding to the destination address is the residential building. If the application of the building corresponding to the destination address is the commercial building, the parcel delivery service server 100 can select the business name as the representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address, since there are many shops in a single building.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 can set the name of the building which is at the last syntactic word of the destination address. For example, if the destination address is '00 Middle School, 952-3 Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea', the '00 Middle School" of the last syntactic word can be set as the representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address.
- the information on the detailed address such as a block and a unit, is set as the abbreviated address, and thus the courier can quickly distinguish and sort the packages based on the abbreviated address written on the waybill.
- the substitute word set by the courier in charge of the delivery area can selected as the abbreviated address.
- the abbreviated address is set in the form of the name of the sculpture or the name of a presentative location in the corresponding area which is a sight familiar to the courier who delivers the package in practice, so that the courier can easily distinguish the destination of the package.
- the parcel delivery service server 100 prints separately the abbreviated address on the waybill corresponding to the package (S130).
- the parcel delivery service server 100 prints the abbreviated address on a distinguishable section of the waybill so that the abbreviated address is printed, for example, in the form of letters of large and bold font or different color which is definitely distinguishable from other letters printed on the waybill, or a watermark. Therefore, the courier can look at the abbreviated address from the packages of various sizes at once.
- the above display can be outputted by a specific color or display manner which is wanted by the courier in charge of the delivery area, thereby improving the delivery efficiency of the package.

Abstract
Disclosed is an address abbreviating method being executed by a parcel delivery service server, the address abbreviating method including the steps of: obtaining a destination address of a package; and extracting a feature point of the destination address, and setting an abbreviated address of the package based on the feature point. The abbreviated address is printed on the waybill attached to the package in the form of letters of large or bold font to improve visibility and legibility, and thus the courier can check and sort the positions of the packages at once.
Description
The present invention relates to a waybill with an abbreviated address, and more particularly, to a method for providing address information to enable a courier to easily distinguish a destination address of a package to be delivered, and a server for executing the method.
In general, a parcel delivery service means a system that couriers employed by a company deliver packages traveling to the area in charge by use of vehicles. In this instance, the couriers deliver the packages according to waybills attached to the packages, respectively, and the waybill is a label recorded with information (e.g., a waybill number, information on delivery items, a destination address, a sender name, and contact information) required for delivering the package.
When couriers look at destination addresses written or printed on the waybills one by one to load the packages, which belong to the respective delivery areas, in vehicles at a fright station, sorting and loading processes require too much time. Accordingly, the packages are generally loaded in arbitrary order in the vehicles just in view of a size and shape of the package. This occasionally causes the order of the packages loaded in the vehicle to be in discord with the delivery order.
Also, in the case of an apartment complex with many households, there is a problem in that the courier should sort hundreds of packages one by one according to unit numbers by a block after he arrives at the site, which requires too much time and thus remarkably decreases delivery efficiency.

Fig. 1 is a view schematically illustrating a waybill attached to a package according to one embodiment of the invention.
Referring to Fig. 1, the waybill is a label recorded with information required for delivering the package to a designated address, and the information includes details of delivery items, a sender, a receiver and a parcel delivery service. For example, the information on the package includes description of delivery items, and weights and numbers thereof, the information on the sender and receiver includes names, telephone numbers and addresses, and the information on the parcel delivery service includes a waybill number, a code, a name and reference number of a courier in charge, and shipping costs.
In general, a lot of information is written or printed on the waybill in letters of the same size font, and the waybill is attached to the package. The courier should carefully check the destination address from the waybill of the package. If there are a lot of packages to be delivered, too much time is needed to check the destination addresses of the packages.
A parcel delivery service server 100 according to the invention displays an abbreviated address, in which the destination address is simply abbreviated, on a center of the waybill in various ways, for example, in the form of letters of large and bold font in comparison with other information written on the waybill, letters of different color, or a watermark, so that the courier can easily check the destination address through the abbreviated address.
In the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 1, it would be noted that an abbreviated address A '120-103 Naeseorak Apt' is written in the form of letters of large font on a rectangular box below the receiver address, '120-103 Naeseorak Apt., 228-6 Inje-ro, Inje-eup, Inje-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea', on the waybill. Accordingly, the courier can easily recognize the address information required for delivering the package.
In Fig. 1, although the abbreviated address is displayed in the form of letters of large font on the rectangular box so that the courier can check the abbreviated address at once, the abbreviated address can be displayed and printed in various ways, for example, by changing the color of letters, adjusting line spacing, changing a style of letters, changing a color of background, setting hologram, or selecting italic fonts, to improve visibility and legibility.
The configuration of the parcel delivery service server 100 to create the abbreviated address will now be described.
Fig. 2 is a view schematically illustrating the configuration of the parcel delivery service server 100 according to one embodiment of the invention.
Referring to Fig. 2, the parcel delivery service server 100 includes a package receiving unit 110, a destination address abbreviating unit 120, a destination address converting unit 130, a destination address verifying unit 140, a destination address printing unit 150, a control unit 160 and a database 170.
The package receiving unit 110 receives a request for delivery of an item or items. In this instance, the package receiving unit 110 obtains a destination address of the package which is written by a sender, as well as the package. More specifically, the package receiving unit 110 is inputted with basic information (e.g., a receiver name, a sender name, a destination address, and description of items) to be displayed on the waybill of the package from the sender, and the destination address means address information which is provided from the sender and is stored intact.
The destination address abbreviating unit 120 extracts feature points from the destination address, and sets the abbreviated address of the package based on the feature points. The abbreviated address is a brief summary of the destination address so that the courier can easily check the destination address from the waybill attached to the package. Therefore, since the courier figures out the delivery area in charge, the courier can deliver the package just based on the brief summary.
The destination address abbreviating unit 120 extracts the feature point from the destination address so that the feature point can be considered as the abbreviated address. More specifically, the feature point of the destination address may mean application of a building or a name thereof which is analyzed from the destination address.
Fig. 3 is a view schematically illustrating the plurality of destination addresses stored in the database 170 of the parcel delivery service server 100 according to one embodiment of the invention.
Referring to Fig. 3, the parcel delivery service server 100 newly classifies and stores application of the building corresponding to the respective addresses which is different from a conventional classification system by application of a building.
More specifically, since the courier does not need to determine how the buildings are classified by administrative regulations, the buildings can be conveniently classified in the parcel delivery service. Therefore, the parcel delivery service server 100 hierarchically classifies the application of the building into three types, i.e., major classification, medium classification and minor classification. In the case of the major classification, the building is classified into residential, commercial and public buildings. In the case of the medium classification, the building is classified into housings and buildings. In the case of the minor classification, the building is classified into townhouses, shopping malls, public facilities and residences, without using a clear name of the building.
In the address information hierarchically classified by the parcel delivery service server 100 according to this embodiment of the invention, the destination address abbreviating unit 120 can select the application of the building as a representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address, if the destination address consists of a road name address. For example, the destination address abbreviating unit 120 can select the representative name by application of the building, as mentioned in Table 1.
Application of Building | Representative Name |
Residential | Building name (e.g., 00 Apartment) |
Commercial | Business name (e.g., 00 coffee shop) |
Public | Facility name (e.g., power generator) |
The destination address abbreviating unit 120 extracts a characteristic word (representative name) by application of the building, and selects the detailed address (e.g., block or unit) to be followed by the word as the final abbreviated address which is written on the waybill.
If the destination address consists of the land-lot address, the destination address abbreviating unit 120 may select a name of the building written on the last phrase of the land-lot address as the representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address.
Referring to Fig. 2, the destination address converting unit 130 converts the destination address received by the package receiving unit 110 into an address format. The address format corresponds to a format of road name address or a format of land-lot address.
More specifically, the land-lot address has the format illustrated in Table 2, and the road name address has the format illustrated in Table 3. The destination address converting unit 130 syntax-analyzes the destination address prepared by the sender. After the destination address converting unit 130 determines whether the destination address is written in the form of the land-lot address or the road name address, the destination address converting unit 130 aligns the destination address according to each format.
Metropolitan Government | Local Government | City/Gu | Eup/Myoen | Dong/Ri | Street Address | Detailed Address |
Seoul | Gangnam-gu | Samseong-dong | 338-3 | Unit A, 00 Building | ||

The destination address converting unit 130 standardizes the aligned destination addresses. Alternatively, if the aligned destination address is 'A Building, Seosomun-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, Korea', the destination address converting unit 130 inserts the street address '58-12' of the address of interest to correct the address 'A Building, 58-12 Seosomun-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, Korea'.
In addition, the destination address converting unit 130 can check and correct an error by word of the standardized destination address. In other words, the destination address converting unit 130 can determine the typographical error of 'Jong-gu' based on the database for names of local governments which belong to 'Seoul', and can determine the typographical error of 'Muilding' based on the database for words referring to buildings, such as a building, a housing, or an apartment.
The destination address verifying unit 140 verifies whether the destination address converted by the destination address converting unit 130 exists or not, before the destination address is converted into the abbreviated address.
The destination address printing unit 150 prints separately the abbreviated address, which is set by the destination address abbreviating unit 120, on the waybill corresponding to the package. In other words, the parcel delivery service server 100 can separately print only the abbreviated address on the waybill of a sticker type which is attached to the package. Herein, the separate printing includes a process of printing letters of different font on one sheet of waybill, and a process of attaching a different waybill with the abbreviated address onto the waybill written with the information on the sender, the receiver and the package.
The abbreviated address printed by the destination address printing unit 150 can be printed on the waybill in the visually and easily distinguishable form. For example, the abbreviated address can be printed in the form of letters of large and bold font in comparison with the destination address, or letters of a different color which is distinguishable from other letters printed on the waybill, or a watermark.
The control unit 160 controls the parcel delivery service server 100, the destination address abbreviating unit 120, the destination address converting unit 130, the destination address verifying unit 140 and the destination address printing unit 150. The control unit 160 is a central processing unit, and may include at least one operation unit to control the whole operation of the parcel delivery service server 100. The operation unit includes, a general-purpose central processing unit, a programable device (CPLD and FPGA) developed for a particular use, an integrated circuit customized for a particular use (ASIC), and a micro control chip.
The database 170 includes a volatile or non-volatile recording medium, and can manage various information on the destination address. For example, the database 170 includes information on the application of buildings corresponding to the road name addresses and the land-lot addresses, information on types of buildings, information on couriers of each delivery area which is set based on the road name addresses and the land-lot addresses, and the abbreviated address corresponding to the respective destination address. In addition, the representative name for setting the abbreviated address includes a substitute word of the respective destination address to be inputted from a terminal of the courier which corresponds to the delivery area, and the database may be stored with information on setting of letters of the abbreviated address to be displayed on the waybill from the terminal of the courier.
Fig. 4 is a view illustrating a method for setting the substitute word to abbreviate the destination address of the package by the courier according to one embodiment of the invention.
Referring to Fig. 4, if there are a plurality of complexes (e.g., Complex 1, Complex 2, Complex A, Complex B, Complex C) using the same road name (e.g., Supsok Maeul 1-ro), the courier in charge of the delivery area of interest can designate the name to distinguish the respective complexes.
More specifically, since there are names to enable the courier to distinguish the delivery area of interest, for example, a name of 00 shopping mall existing in Complex 1 only, a name of a school existing in Complex 2 only, or a name of P sculpture existing in Complex B only, the courier can provide the parcel delivery service server 100 with such information through the terminal held by the courier, and the database 170 manages the information.
The configuration of the parcel delivery service server 100 according to one embodiment of the invention has been described hereinbefore, and the method for abbreviating the destination address of the package by use of the parcel delivery service server 100 will now be described.
Fig. 5 is a flowchart illustrating a method for abbreviating the destination address of the package by use of the parcel delivery service server 100 according to one embodiment of the invention.
Referring to Fig. 5, the parcel delivery service server 100 receives the package, and obtains the destination address of the received package (S110). In the process of receiving the package, the parcel delivery service server 100 can store names of the sender and receiver, telephone numbers, the destination address, and a reference number of the received waybill, as well as receiving description of the items (e.g., item names, quantities and kinds).
Since an error may exist on the destination address written by the sender, the parcel delivery service server 100 converts the destination address of the received package into the standardized format according to the address format.
Specifically, the parcel delivery service server 100 syntax-analyzes and aligns the destination address (S110-1), and converts the syntax-analyzed destination address into the standardized format (S110-2).
In addition, the parcel delivery service server 100 analyzes the standardized destination address by syntactic word, and verifies whether or not there is wrong writing, and if yes, the parcel delivery service server 100 corrects the wrongly written address (S110-3). The conversion of the destination address so as to set the abbreviated address is completed by the above process.
For example,
338-3, Unit A, 00 Building, Samsang-dong, Seoul, Korea
→ Unit A, 00 Building, 338-3 Samsang-dong, Seoul, Korea (Aligned)
→ Unit A, 00 Building, 338-3 Samsang-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea (Standardized)
→ Unit A, 00 Building, 338-3 Samsang-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea (Corrected)
However, before the parcel delivery service server 100 sets the abbreviated address, the parcel delivery service server 100 performs a process of determining the existence of the destination address for the purpose of the accurate delivery (S110-4). The existence of the destination address can be determined by the existence of the building which is determined on the basis of the administrative Dong or the statutory Dong when the destination address is the format of land-lot address, or by the existence of the building which is determined on the basis of the building managing number when the destination address if the format of street name address.
The parcel delivery service server 100 receives the package, obtains the destination address of the received package, and analyzes the destination address by syntactic word to determine whether there is an error in the destination address. The parcel delivery service server 100 can set the abbreviated address of the package based on the received destination address.
If it is determined in step S110-4 that the obtained or converted destination address does not exist (NO in step S110), the parcel delivery service server 100 again converts the destination address of the package. In this instance, if the destination address does not exist even after reconversion, the parcel delivery service server 100 can send error information on the destination address to the receiver or sender of the package.
On the contrary, if it is determined in step S110-4 that the obtained or converted destination address exists (YES in step S110), the parcel delivery service server 100 extracts the feature points from the destination address, and sets the abbreviated address of the package (S120). The feature point is a concept including the application of the building or the name of the building which is analyzed through the destination address, and the parcel delivery service server 100 can utilize the information which is hierarchically classified from the application of the building by address. In other words, the parcel delivery service server 100 classifies the destination address on the basis of the application of the building which is hierarchically classified (S120-1), and selects at least one of the representative name and the detailed address of the destination address according to the results of classification (S120-2).
More specifically, the application of the building is generally classified into residential, commercial and public buildings, and the representative name which is set as the abbreviated address may be different from each other according to each application. For example, the parcel delivery service server 100 can select the building name as the representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address if the application of the building corresponding to the destination address is the residential building. If the application of the building corresponding to the destination address is the commercial building, the parcel delivery service server 100 can select the business name as the representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address, since there are many shops in a single building.
Also, the parcel delivery service server 100 can set the name of the building which is at the last syntactic word of the destination address. For example, if the destination address is '00 Middle School, 952-3 Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea', the '00 Middle School" of the last syntactic word can be set as the representative name on behalf of the abbreviated address.
As described above, after the representative name is set, the information on the detailed address, such as a block and a unit, is set as the abbreviated address, and thus the courier can quickly distinguish and sort the packages based on the abbreviated address written on the waybill.
In the case where the representative name is set as the abbreviated address, the substitute word set by the courier in charge of the delivery area can selected as the abbreviated address. In other words, the abbreviated address is set in the form of the name of the sculpture or the name of a presentative location in the corresponding area which is a sight familiar to the courier who delivers the package in practice, so that the courier can easily distinguish the destination of the package.
If the abbreviated address of the package is completely set in step S120, the parcel delivery service server 100 prints separately the abbreviated address on the waybill corresponding to the package (S130). In other words, the parcel delivery service server 100 prints the abbreviated address on a distinguishable section of the waybill so that the abbreviated address is printed, for example, in the form of letters of large and bold font or different color which is definitely distinguishable from other letters printed on the waybill, or a watermark. Therefore, the courier can look at the abbreviated address from the packages of various sizes at once.
In addition, the above display can be outputted by a specific color or display manner which is wanted by the courier in charge of the delivery area, thereby improving the delivery efficiency of the package.
Meanwhile, the method of setting the abbreviated address by building can be carried out, as follows:
Example 1 - Apartment
If the application of the building classified by the parcel delivery service server 100 is an apartment, the abbreviated address should be set as a block and unit of the apartment so that the courier can conveniently sort, load and deliver the packages. Therefore, the destination address may be abbreviated in the following manner. The existing abbreviated address is arbitrarily set by a parcel delivery service company before the address abbreviating method of the invention is carried out.
- Input destination address: 202-2004 Eunma Apt., 212 Samseong-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea
- Existing abbreviated address: Daechi 2 316 Eunma Apt.
- Abbreviated address of the invention: 202-2004 Eunma Apt.
Example 2 - Studio Apartment
If the application of the building classified by the parcel delivery service server 100 is a studio apartment, the abbreviated address should be set as a block and unit of the studio apartment so that the courier can conveniently sort, load and deliver the packages, similar to the apartment. Therefore, the destination address may be abbreviated in the following manner.
- Input destination address: Unit 1503, Skyhubsky, 1523 Jungang-daero, Dongnae-gu, Busan, Korea
- Existing abbreviated address: Oncheon 1 153-8 Hubsky
- Abbreviated address of the invention: Unit 1503, Sky
Example 3 - Shopping Mall
If the application of the building classified by the parcel delivery service server 100 is a shopping mall, there is the building name in front of the building or around the building to allow people to easily identify the building. Therefore, in the case of setting the building name as the abbreviated address, it is possible to improve the efficiency when the courier sorts the packages.
In addition, in the case of the shopping mall, the courier often visiting the shopping mall can manage the substitute word as the abbreviated address by himself.
- Input destination address: 1-204, 130 Gwanmun-ro, Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, Korea
- Existing abbreviated address: Jungang 36 Shopping Mall
- Abbreviated address of the invention: Unit 204, Shopping Mall
Example 4 - Government Office
If the application of the building classified by the parcel delivery service server 100 is a government office, such as a government building, a fire station, a police station, a library, a community service center, or a school, the abbreviated address can be set in view of special situations of the government office.
More specifically, in the case of the government office, Saturday Off will be expressed on the abbreviated address. Since some government offices are opened on Saturday, the parcel delivery service server 100 can subdivide and store an office closing day, and can set the abbreviated address.
For example, the schools, the community service centers and the government offices are closed on Saturday, while the police stations, the fire stations and police stands are opened on Saturday. The parcel delivery service server 100 can store the office closing day, and add it to the abbreviated address.
- Input destination address: Facility Department, 2-102 Gwacheon Government Complex, 47 Gwanmun-ro, Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, Korea
- Existing abbreviated address: Jungang 1 Gwacheon Government Complex
- Abbreviated address of the invention: Facility Department, 2-102 Gwacheon Government Complex
- Input destination address: Civil Service Department, Gangnam Police Station 1F, 11 Teheran-ro 114-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea
- Existing abbreviated address: Daechi 2 998 Gangnam Police Station
- Abbreviated address of the invention: Civil Service Department, Gangnam Police Station 1F
Fig. 6 is a view illustrating the package attached with the waybill including the abbreviated delivery information according to one embodiment of the invention.
Referring to Fig. 6, after the parcel delivery service server 100 sets the abbreviated address for the destination address, as described above, it can print the abbreviated address on the waybill in the letters of large and bold font. Therefore, even though a lot of various packages are loaded in the delivery vehicle, the courier can easily check the abbreviated addresses to quickly distinguish and sort the positions of the packages and the delivery sequence.
The parcel delivery service server 100 according to one embodiment of the invention and the method for abbreviating the destination address by use of the parcel delivery service server have been described herein. According to the invention, the parcel delivery service server 100 selects the application of the building as the abbreviated address, and provides the courier with only the significant delivery information after classifying the destination addressed by the method which is different from the conventional method, so that the courier can easily distinguish and sort the packages after a lot of packages are loaded in the vehicle.
The present invention may be implemented as a computer-readable code in a computer-readable recording medium. The computer-readable recording medium includes all storage media including a magnetic storage medium, an optically readable medium and the like. In addition, data formats of the messages used in the present invention can be recorded in the recording medium.
While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments, it is not to be restricted by the embodiments but only by the appended claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
